Simple no fuss design, well laid out and easy for little hands to use. This is a solar powered calculator in the form of a substantial cash register:-large white buttons with bold black numbers 0 to 9 also decimal point and = sign.Large clear LED 8 digit display panel.Large yellow buttons with bold black divide, multiply, subtract and addition signs.Large red buttons with bold white OPEN, ON/C, OFF.Satisfying 'ring' when the draw opens.Authentic 'beep' when buttons are pressed and the imitation debit card is swiped. One small replaceable disk battery required, already fitted.Good sized coin and note compartments within the draw.Pack of imitation plastic British sterling coins and paper notes, chunky plastic toy debit card, small pad of plain paper supplied.Booklet with some play ideas included.Width approx 9 1/2" 23.5cmLength approx 10 1/2" 26cmHeight at tallest point approx just over 6" 15cmImmense play value judging by how my pre schooler uses it; sheer pleasure pressing the buttons and causing the 'beep' and ring', loading and unloading the draw, sorting coins and hiding secret tiny things in the compartments, pressing the numbers I call game and visa versa, matching card numbers to the keys and seeing that number appear on the LED, swiping the debit card just like mummy, running her grocery shop, toy shop, café etc authentically, charging to go in the garden!...We use real coins, best not use too many or the draw won't ping open properly. Brilliant for pre school children to role play becoming familiar with money and numbers. Great for school age children to build numeracy skills through role play. Organised play becomes more like the grown up world giving greater scope for imagination and interaction. I've noticed older kids and adults are inclined to join in with the action for longer; enjoying their turn on the checkout so much. There is a hand held bar code scanner designed to use with this, which we hope to acquire one day.By far more robust than any other cash registers we have looked at, no doubt will last years. Designers have done a superb job creating authenticity whilst respecting the intelligence of the child. The box states this has 23 awards too. Ticks all the boxes. Far better than I imagined and I had high expectations for the price. Very pleased and well worth spending the extra for this asset.

If you're looking for a cash register that doesn't talk, isn't linked to a trademarked character, doesn't limit your child to a supermarket but will let your child imagine any shop he or she likes, will work as a calculator or will just open at the press of a button and makes all the right noises, this is the one to go for. It's a nice size but not too big, it's sturdy so won't slip on a surface, but light enough to be easily lifted and moved around. It comes with a really good amount of play money which looks and sounds realistic. I was getting frustrated, trying to find a cash register which wouldn't limit my daughter's imagination until I found this one. She loves this till and happily plays shop for hours.I'd recommend it to anyone. She's happy, I'm sold!

So I brought this for my 3 and half year old, he likes to play shops, the till is big very sturdy and great the calculator works and adds up the sums etc, the till draw opens and the card swipes. I don't really like the little noise it makes when pressing the numbers it's like a little squeak. It should sound like till typing or nothing, also the number display on the screen is really faint for my son to see, the money should be made out of paper plastic or shiny card as its already ripped and bent up. My mum is going to laminate the surviving money lol. Other than that it's great and will grow with them, as it has the calculator aspect. It's not worth 28 quid though not for a till I would say maybe 20,but it seems durable

I've been waiting for Amazon to sell this till again as they had stopped selling it as some customers had received tills without the play money. Well, I'm happy to report that this problem has been rectified and it is a great, sturdy, educational solar powered, calculator style till. My 2 year old loves the beeping and realistic noises whilst my 4 year old loves trying to count. It has been banged and dropped several times and is still going strong. We also bought play euros and the drawer occasionally gets stuck but that is probably due to my youngest stuffing in notes. Once the kids can actually count and make full use of it then it will definetely be a 5 * toy. What a joy to have a battery free toy!

Fab till and is just perfect for my little girl’s shop. Will hopefully help her learn some basic money recognition and counting skills. Like others have said, the drawer opens fast so coins do fly out but I’ve taught her to slightly hold the drawer when it opens to prevent this from happening. Some have said in other reviews that theirs do not make the ding noises when buttons are pressed/card swiped - it doesn’t say it in the instructions but these are controlled by the battery underneath the till (only the calculator part is solar powered) - I only discovered this by mistake! Overall though, it’s a decent, study toy that I feel will last years to come.

This was a bit hit on Christmas morning.I couldn't keep my hands off it. When my son eventually got a go he loved it too. It's a very good size and is very appropriate for bigger kids that still like to play shop. My son is 5 and wanted a 'big boy shop' This till is perfect. We do need to use it near good light for the solar calculator but the main thing is...it works. The buttons don't make any noise when you press them but this doesn't bother me as I didn't know when picking it that they were meant to. It'd probably be annoying anyway. The money included is English and realistic so my son can get used to it without emptying my purse.

My daughter loves this cash register/till - it has a working calculator, loads of room in the cash drawer for money and is also really sturdy so should last a lifetime. I did look at cheaper options when searching but decided this was the one - yes I know it doesn't have a barcode scanner or microphone like some others, but this is a superior toy and my daughter has never missed the extras above. It does have a credit card reader so I have gave her some of my old cards to play with also - the other day I found my 14yo nephew playing with it!! Hope his friends don't find out!I would certainly recommend this cash register as a best buy.

We had previously bought an ELC till (with crappy microphone and card reader attachment!). We have swiflty left that at Nannies house and I have searched high and low for this type of till! I wanted a basic, simple, sturdy, fun till like I had when I was a kid....and that it exactly what it is! All the tills I looked at in ELC or Toys r us, just feel like the same old plastic fantastic rubbish, with ridiculous attachments that break easily. My 4 yr old daughter loves this and we play shop to help with counting ready for school. Its large with easy buttons and a proper sized coin tray. Great product, good value.

Happy. It is big and chunky which i like as i bought this for educational perposes for my 6 year old who is struggling a little bit at school. The play money is quite realistic wich is good for learning. I aslo like that the keypad is a calculator. I plan on using with empty food packaging boxes for reading. This till will be a grate focal point to a very educational and realistic game. This is my daughters 3rd till and I wish i had bought this one sooner instead of kind with micky mouse money and a cash draw with one compartment

I got my wee girl and shop for her christmas. I learned the till on it, doesn't do much regarding noises etc, so I bought this one. I was surprised at how big this was when she opened it on christmas day. It makes all the sounds, when tapping the numbers and opening the till. It holds alot of fake money, which is good because her shop came with some too. She loves playing with it, doesn't fit on her shop but she doesn't care. She is happy and that's all that matters. Delivery was perfect and well packaged

If you are thinking of buying a toy cash register then look no further. Got a cheap plastic one for daughter number one but it was very flimsy and fell to bits by the time daughter number two was ready to play shops. Treated her to this one for her second birthday and it's in a different league. A decent size, very sturdy and with authentic beep beep and kerching noises. It also comes with money. No batteries as solar powered. Pricey but good value for money and suitable for older children too.

Great till. Good size, and not too babyish looking, unlike many alternatives. Looks like it will last my children many years. Apparently my son's school has the same till, and I've also seen it in many nurseries, so it must be long lasting! The money that comes with it is realistic enough to teach children to recognise coins & notes. My 3 year old loves to just play with it, but my 6 year old will try to count out the correct money to pay for things. Definitely a toy that will grow with them!

Since my daughters, 3 and 5, got this cash register they have played shops almost daily. The drawer and calculator work very well and they enjoy when the drawer opens with a "ping". When it arrived I was surprised by its size as it is a lot chunkier and heavier than expected which means it stays put when the drawer is being shut. The colour is a slightly darker shade of red than on the picture. It also comes with plenty UK money, about 70 coins plus notes. Great toy which will last years!

I wanted a till that wasn’t a supermarket scan and conveyor belt one, more an old fashioned till for helping maths skills. This is certainly it, it works just like the ones I used to play with but with the added touch of a credit card slot. The draw pops out with a satisfying ding as well. I can tell this is going t last for years right through to when we are learning about addition and subtraction (my son was two when gifted this) so I’m glad I spent a bit more on something so sturdy

Brought this for my 7 year old son as, i would like for him to start understanding the value of money. What a brilliant way of doing this through a till...this makes the learning process for both parents and children fun.Fast delivery, good quality, good size, English money included and pretend bank card.Would reccomend to any parent and very good value for money.Brilliant toy to pass down to your other children and share.
