I think the poor reviews from inexperienced people really underrated this high quality cast iron pan.I'm pretty much a home chef and was looking to upgrade to Le Creuset because this is the cookware professional chefs use.If you dont know how to cook or use cast iron things will stick around to this pan. With that being said I took the time to upload videos and show that you won't get pan stick knowing what you are doing. All pans of this calibre require butter or oil eggs are sticky foods unless you have pre seasoned the pan in advance to help it become non stick. This pan requires building up the heat slowly until the egg is not tacky then you can bring the heat higher to cook it through.Down to the ratings I give it a 5* heat distribution very even.Does generate a bit of steam but I expected that. Brings out all the flavours of the food just impeccable quality. It is definitely is worth the high price point however if you are not an experienced cook buy a more simple cast iron like Lodge.UpdateSo i have been using this skillet for a few weeks now and it can be challenging with the minor sticking. I seasoned the enamel a few times and found now the pan is completely non stick. It was suggested that it didnt need seasoning because its enamel. However this solved the sticking issues for me. It didnt ruin my pan it just gave it a beautiful shiny patina coating and it looks more shiny but it didnt damage the pan. I advise doing your research before you undertake the process.

I love this pan! It's seriously heavy though as I broke my wrist a few months ago and can't lift it with that hand, but no issue with my good hand. I couldn't imagine trying to flip anything in it though... Don't touch the handle without some protection, it gets hot!First thing I made with it was ghee, I figured that would be a good way to get a coating on it despite it being enameled. Not sure if that is actually a thing or not, but seemed like a good plan to me...Heat it up on medium heat first, let it heat thoroughly, then add oil and turn it down. It cooks really well and cleans up perfectly easily. I see comments about cooking eggs being a nightmare, but I had no trouble,I cooked it just above the lowest heat and it cooked quickly and left no mess (as shown in the photo).I ordered this because Teflon worries me, and any pan I've had has always ended up with damage to the surface, and therefore needs binned (if you know what's good for your health). I feel like this pan - if treated with care - will last a lifetime. It's expensive, but so is replacing a cheaper pan every year or two.

I love these frying pans. They have taken over from the Le Creuset stainless steel ones as my go to pans. Have got rid of all my non stick ones except an ancient Le Creuset cast iron one which is still going strong, and use these almost exclusively. They give a great sear to meat and make sausages, bacon, pork, chicken, all taste like they used to. I have treated all three of them as though they were uncoated cast iron...seasoned them as suggested by Le Creuset and now they see no soap at all when washed; just hot water. If anything sticks, which is rarely, a quick soak in hot water will shift it. No, they aren't Teflon. You need fat to cook with...but a fried egg isn't a fried egg without fat...They get better and better, the more they are used.

This is my second cast iron frying pan. The first was a considerably cheaper model, which is perfectly fine and I have no complaints about, however I wanted a Le Creuset one as I have other pans in thier range and so bought this one. It is a really good quailty pan, and what seems to be an easier version to keep clean and usualble. The enamel means it is unlikely to rust (the cheaper version has to be treated with a lot more care) and the cooking surface is a lot smoother and so more non stick. Well worth the extra cost as I think it will last a lot longer.

Great for every day use, with beautiful colour tone. This is a small skillet that heats nicely on low settings and is great to transfer to the oven, but make sure you have the right mittens because the handle gets hot!The enameled surface is good for cleaning, but avoid soaking with harsh chemicals, I lost a Le Creuset Dutch oven this way after a family member thought they were helping. Warm, soapy water will do the job.Its size is not compatible with family meals, so go for the larger size if you're cooking for more than two people.

This skillet has been a great purchase! It cooks practically everything evenly, easily and adds a nice sear I struggle to get in an aluminium non-stick pan. I'm rating it 4 stars rather than 5 as at first there was a lot of anxiety as to how to clean it properly - without scratching it - and I still have to figure out how to not overlook an egg in it. But that said, I now find it easy to clean and use!

as an all-round go to pan for most foods this pan is great. It works on pretty much any heat source, heats up evenly and retains the heat and can be chucked in the oven to finish cooking steaks, etc. However if you're thinking eggs forget it, any kind of fried, scrambled or omlette seems to weld itself to the pan even when using an unhealthy amount of butter or olive oil.

I got this skillet for my birthday a month ago and at first was worried it would be more difficult to clean than my enamelled Le Creuset pots after reading some reviews on here. So far is has been incredibly easy to clean with no issues whatsoever. It fits easily in the oven and I use it to make pizzas and frittatas and flat bread as well as fry ups!

Smaller And heavier than expected. Still happy with it though as it’s what to expect with le Creuset. Good for cook one person’s meal. Was thinking of changing to a larger size but would be too heavy for me to lift one handed. I am a le Creuset fan so nothing to complain here.

i can't rave enough about this pan! i bought this to heat and cook my babies food in as it is a healthy alternative to the aluminum and steel pans out there. It was so worth the money i can't wait to save up and buy more!

The Marseille Blue is a lovely colour and reminds me of the Mediterranean. It does as promised get very hot on a medium hotplate setting and is good for searing steaks. It's big enough for two fillet steaks or one T-bone.

So happy with this pan, so much easier than traditional cast iron to clean and maintain. Im finding it to be my go to pan and looking to buy a new dutch oven next. Great kitchen investment

Love this pan, so much that I've bought another smaller one. Use them almost every day. I put on low heat, let it warm up then use. Seems to get easier to clean with every use.

It's very good in general and cleans easily; except for eggs! Don't know why but they do stick and one must soak the pan for a while to clean without scrubing.

Really pleased with the skillet, it's a beautiful blue and I'm so happy it goes with the small Le Creuset casserole I received as a gift 12 years ago!
