Quite simply the very best frying pan I've ever owned.Short version: I've tried everything from uber expensive ceramics that stuck instantly to everything put in them to cheapo sticky 'non stick but the non stick peels off and gets in your food' rubbish from the bargain stores. Get these, don't bother looking elsewhere, they're superb. The pans feel substantial and are well made. They are well balanced and give the overall impression of great quality.Long version (for if you're bored): I'd been using some expensive ceramics for the last couple of years and honestly thought that my cooking skills were horrendous. Everything stuck, everything burned, no amount of oil or anything else helped.I payed substantially more for them than the cost of a full set of these Tefals and it was just money down the drain. Previously I'd tried other well known makes with no real difference, although one or two had been better than the ceramics.I'd purposefully avoided these pans having seen them a couple of years ago. Although I like Jamie Oliver I always find myself disappointed with endorsed products and I presumed these would be the same. How wrong. Anyway, we recently went away for a few days for a self catering break and took a few steaks and bits and bobs with us. When the time came I turned on the hob (electric) and got their frying pan from the cupboard. Steaks slightly oiled, seasoned with S&P, brought to room temperature as I always do. When the pan was hot, in they went with my usual expectation of instant concrete firmly routing them to the bottom of the pan and the two handed struggle to prize them out to turn them over. But wait . . . what was this . . . the steaks instantly sizzled beautifully and with a light touch just glided around the pan. Honestly, I'd never seen anything like it, it was a revelation, a whole new cooking experience! The steaks were perfection. After cooking I gave the pan a wash and it cleaned wonderfully straight away. We were so impressed by them that we had to know who made them and how we could get one. I turned over the pan and couldn't believe they were Tefal Jamie Olivers. I was amazed. We ordered two (24cm and 28cm) the day we got home and we're absolutely delighted with them. It seriously is a whole new way of cooking, knowing that the pan is going to perform brilliantly no matter what you throw into it.I can't recommend these highly enough. Get them now.

There are several styles of fryer made by Tefal and this is one of the few to have a riveted handle; most are screwed and potentially liable to loosen with repeated use as have several in the past and which led to their disposal. There are also several different styles of handle, some straight and others with a distinct dog-leg where the outer portion is much higher than the point of attachment. This has a relatively straight one with a silicone grip over the metal. That will consequently limit the maximum temperature to about 200-deg C should it ever be used in the oven.Although designed with the involvement of a TV chef, the "Tefal Jamie Oliver Hard Enamel Classic Series Non-stick Frying Pan,26 cm - Black" features the classic Tefal red centre spot which, when its text and pattern almost disappear, indicates that the pan is at its optimal temperature; the heat can then be reduced. The coating is an improvement upon older types as found in the last Tefal frying pan used some time ago and which was used for several years. It was pre-conditioned with a little cooking oil before use. It is claimed as ideal for omelettes but the first effort at one in this pan caused it to stick extensively before it could be filled and folded although it did not over-cook or burn; the result was messy but edible. Judging from the results of a later effort, this is not a pan for oil-free frying as the results from using a small knob of butter plus less than a tablespoon of oil were perfect without sticking, over-cooking or burning. Another smaller frying pan from a different brand and only recently purchased is more inclined to allow food to stick and burn although saucepans from the same brand were frequently used and well-regarded until replaced by a later gifted set.The pan is also quite deep and so can be used not only for shallow frying but also when braising and other similar options where quantities of liquid are involved. Despite its size, it is not unduly heavy and is surprisingly easy to handle; its base may be aluminium. Checking with a magnet indicated zero attraction to the base so it is not suited for induction hobs; other cookers such as gas, electric, ceramic, halogen etc are perfectly suited.

I'm very pleased with the quality of this pan, I ordered it in late February for £20 and it arrived a month earlier than expected. It has a thick heavy base, a wide rim, a riveted handle with a rubber grip (which I assume is silicone so will be oven safe), and is non-stick. Me and my family have gotten through so many pans over the years, as the surfaces get severely worn by scratches and flaking, and the handles become very loose. This pan however is protected by a lifetime guarantee from flaking and wear of the surface, so it gives me the confidence that it will last over the years (though I would still advise using plastic utensils on the pan's surface to preserve it).The non-stick is not guaranteed to last forever though, but I don't expect any pan's non-stick to. So far the non-stick is great, especially when cooking meat. The dark brown reactions that are made when cooking meat can easily be cleaned up, but personally I wipe it off with whatever I'm cooking so no flavour or goodness is lost. Everything that gets cooked in the pan can easily be transferred to the plate so nothing is wasted and the food packs more flavour. For anyone who is looking for a sturdy, good quality pan that will last I would recommend this one. I Will update this review in the future should I have any problems with the pan.

This is a real step-up in quality from the less expensive Tefal pans. I had been looking for a new wok for a while and had considered this one as well as the Raymond Blanc Anolon version. Having had the chance to handle both pans there wasn't much between them in terms of weight and quality, but this one wins on price - at £25 from Amazon it's a steal! The non-stick is very high quality and is described as safe for metal untensils (apart from knives or whisks). In use it cooks to perfection on a low to medium heat, Tefal's heat spot is a useful guide to avoid overheating the pan. It washes up perfectly by hand every time. All in all this will make a fine addition to any kitchen and with the right care should last a while.Highly recommended!Update after nearly three years use - non-stick is good as new, best I have ever used! I cannot recommend this enough!

I know there are probably more expensive items out there but this fries eggs FAR better than the much more expensive Le Creuset frying pan we also have. Originally I was sent the smaller sized pan in error but this was quickly resolved by Amazon customer service. The pan itself cooks well and cleans well. The handle is perfect sized. All in all it seems a quality bit of kit. It also has enough weight in it to be confident it wont move on the hob. Not tried for anything but eggs yet but so far am very happyUpdate April 2015This pan has been used heavily now. Been used for many different food types. Cleans up easily and still looks as good as new. I've found that the heat needs turning down almost to minimum once the pan is hot enough, otherwise it cooks too fast. In my experience no non stick pan lasts forever, but I would happily endorse this one

Amazing.I'm probably a bit sad for loving a frying pan so much, but these are so good, I've got 4 of them in different sizes. They are just a world apart from a cheap non-stick pan. I've had the oldest ones for several years, and there isn't a single mark on the non-stick surface. The pans are solid enough to absorb the heat and spread it nicely over the pan - the grip is fantastic, a rubberised layer over metal. 2 big rivets hold the handle on, and look unlikely to ever break. The angle of the edges of the pan make it a bit tricky to flip food in, that's the only downside that I can offer - you can still do it, but it takes a really strong wrist flip. The sides being so upright make this more like a skillet.Still, buy one, these are amazing value for money.

I bought this to replace a tired old Tefal pan of the same size, although this a bit deeper which is nice. However, an immediate little niggle stops me from rating it a five star. Unlike the old pan, the rivets holding the handle are fitted after the non stick covering. The first time I used it was for scrambled eggs which stuck on and around the edge of the rivets and didn't easily wash off. I didn't want to use a scourer and had to resort to a brush. Will have to see how it goes for other things but this pan will be used mainly for those eggs. The enamel base on the old one was messed up by the many times in the dishwasher, so am a bit reluctant to put this one in,although it's supposed to be OK.

this is the best frypan I have ever used by a country mile.i have the Andrew james 33 ltre mini oven and I found that the stainless steel fry pan that I was using would not come up to temp for efficient cooking {surprise surprise}. I would just say that this 24cm pan fits on the large hob just right because it leaves about a half an inch overlap around it which seems to be the right equation.i can now fry bacon and eggs on it on the 350 watt setting with ease. I am sure this not only applies to the Andrew james but to all the other mini ovens with hobs but just remember to apply the half inch rule and tailor the frying pan to the size of hob that you will be using for this purpose

It's still in 99% condition after a few years. No warping. None of the non-stick has come away. The underside is still immaculate with no burn marks. The handle is still rock solid and it still looks like new if i'm honest. I use this pan every single day to cook and it'll last me many more years that's for sure. Pay that bit more and you save yourself in the long run from replacing the cheap ones. I'll be buying the smaller ones soon no doubt.Put it this way. My mother has had 3 frying pans in the time i've had this one, and paid almost £50 more than me in replacing them. It's a no brainer! Buy Hard enamel or Anodised. They'll last you years!

A great pan. I'm always a little sceptical of celebrity endorsed products like this but in this case I needn't have worried. The slightly textured surface is different to any other non-stick pans I've owned and works very well. I would go as far as to say you don't really need any oil in the pan to prevent sticking. After a couple of months of regular use it's still performing as new so I have high hopes of it's longevity. Not sure about the 'thermo-spot' feature, it seems a bit gimmicky and I still use my own judgement for pan temperatures. Other than that - highly recommended and I'm considering other pans from the range.

We were looking for a slightly smaller frypan to work with the tefal 28cm bought a few months ago(which is first class). We ordered this one and are delighted with the flexibility which we now have - the first delivery was either left at the wrong address or delivered whilst we were out and stolen before we returned home. Amazon were excellent and arranged for a second item to be sent which was oit of stock when we raised our query - however, the replacement was sent by a different carrier (British Mail) and arrived one day before the estimated delivery date - we were delighted!

I've had this pan for a few months now and it's the best non stick pan I've come across. Apart from the fact that nothing sticks, it has a perfectly flat bottom that doesn't bulge after a few fry ups which is essential if you're using an electric hob. It's a good thickness and weight as well. They say you can use metal utensils without damaging the surface but why tempt fate? It deserves kinder treatment so I use wooden and non-stick plastic spatulas. I've noticed it's quicker to heat up than other pans and more even in temperature across the surface, even the sides. Brilliant!

I was not drawn by the J.O. brand at all - but having seen a succession of pans advertise themselves as "tough" "Guaranteed" and "best value" - only to be prematurely binned as sticking, uncleanable or handle-broken worst value,I picked this one as a replacement. It is the best non stick surface I have ever come across in twenty years. I know it will not last forever, none do, but a better first 2 months heavy use with still looking and performing as new is surely a signal of a better pan.The best choice because even the more expensive ones are simply not as good.

The wok is definitely good quality and had it sent from UK to Cyprus where I live. Arrived very quickly but sadly with a bit of a dent on the side. I planned to send it back for replacement only to be told by the same couriers that delivered it, that would cost €138 to return. (cost about €9 to have it shipped to Cyprus)Haven't bothered to return and have kept it and used it quite a number of times. Great wok and highly recommended if you get one that's no dented which I'm sure you will.

Difficult to find a robust yet light-weight, reliably non-stick pan which heats up quickly on a ceramic hob yet doesn't buckle. The Jamie Oliver pan scores well all round and has withstood very heavy daily usage. Absolutely nothing sticks (coating still as good as new), the cooking temperature is even and and it's also easy to clean. Having tried several other pans which warped and "caught" within weeks, this is definitely the best and is great value for money.
