I have to echo all the other reviewers by saying that I have found this frying pan to be the best available anywhere on this earth for the price. Yes, it is expensive, but it cooks everything without any oil or other cooking medium without any fuss whatsoever. Not only that, but the food seems to taste better without being cooked in oil. Even the eggs have been fried without any oil, they take slightly longer to cook but appear to taste better. The only time oil is used is when fried bread is required, as this is what the pan cannot do without the assistance of oil. I was quite surprised to find that cooking without oil really gives food not only extra flavour, but more of the true flavour comes to the fore.It is a pity that I never tried a Le Creuset frying pan years ago, but now I will not change. I must say that this pan, albeit heavier than most of the competition, gives good heat distribution and the non-stick surface is holding up well. It is ideal for making special scrambled eggs, where sausage-meat balls and diced veg, are all done in the same pan and without any oil whatsoever and taste great. Cleaning this pan is simplicity itself, where it is only the matter of washing in warm soapy water and drying with a paper towel and it is ready for its next use. Normally non-scratch utensils are used, but when needs call for metal implements these are used and no scratches have been noticed on the non-stick surface, in fact, the surface after regular use still looks brand new.

High quality beautiful piece of cookware to use, but for safety's sake, DO NOT HEAT IT BEYOND MEDIUM HEAT AND DO NOT USE METAL IMPLEMENTS OR SCRATCH IT AT ALL. FYI - I checked extensively with the manufacturer as to its constituent materials & recommended usage/safety precautions. I immediately clean it after use by hand (easy as it's non-stick) and store it in the original box to be sure. I wouldn't recommend placing it in the dishwasher as cutlery etc. might scratch it.Any scratches or overheating make the device emit unsafe carcinogenic chemicals (like ALL non-stick cookware)... this is even though this particular range is PFOA-free (? If I recall correctly). There are still other chemicals used in its construction also that necessitate this careful treatment.Always set the flame / heat to medium (or lower) ONLY, BEFORE putting the pan on top (don't place it on the burner then turn it on to high heat then down). Give it a little time (with some oil/etc) to heat up a little before adding the food and you'll find that you only need medium heat anyway with this pan to cook even things that you'd otherwise think might require high heat. In so doing, you're also saving energy bills, etc. as an added bonus. In fact, you'll probably find you need only a much lower heat than you would otherwise use for e,g. a stainless steel pan.

I bought this as a replacement for my old and ailing Le Creuset cast iron (once non stick) 20cm frying pan ... that has seen many years of service but was looking pretty revolting.I'm writing this review based on about a month and a dozen or so uses ... ranging from fried eggs and omelette, to bacon under the grill, and meeting finishing off in the oven. The pan itself is nice and light, and with a decent length of handle is well balanced for that occasional cheffy flick ... however, that longer handle does mean that it takes up a bit more oven real estate than the old cast iron pan.As I only ever use wood or silicon utensils I've not had any issues with scratches to date, and as it is such a doddle to clean,it has not troubled the dishwasher either ... just a quick wipe off, left to cool, and rinse and another wipe and it is good to go.After a dozen or so uses it still looks brand new, so I'm happy with it. The old cast iron pan lasted 20 years, I'm not sure if this will, but it does appear to be solidly built. On the lid front, we found that the lid from another 24cm frying pan fitted just fine, so that angle is covered ... although to tell the truth, I just tend to use a universal mesh spatter guard.Good pan, happy with my investment.

This is the best frying pan I have ever had. I use it nearly every day and it is as good as new since I bought it in July 2016. I use metal utensils in it but not sharp things like knives. I wash it usually by hand as it is so incredibly easy to clean. You could just wipe it with a piece of kitchen paper as nothing sticks to it!I have put it quite a few times in the dishwasher and it seems fine but you really don't need to.A great plus point for me is that it is pretty light to lift for my creaky hands. It cooks evenly and nothing has ever burnt in it. It is also PFOA free, a very important point as many other non-stick pans, when heated, emit perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), which is linked to thyroid disease, infertility, and developmental and reproductive problems. PFOA fumes also kill birds like parrots, budgies etc, so if it kills them, it cannot be good for you.So, with Le Creuset non-stick, rest easy - it is safe.Le Creuset have care instructions enclosed with their pans and on their website which are really worth reading. Simple and straightforward, if followed, your pans will last a lifetime.I have this 20cm shallow pan, also the 24cm frying pan and a range of their other non stick saucepans. All are superb. Highly recommended.

I replaced my old 3-piece frying pan set with a set of Le Creuset pans in 20, 26, and 30 cm (deep). I was encouraged to do so by the glowing reviews, to which I can add my own. I was worried that they would be too heavy, but they are fine, although the deep pan 30cm one does need two hands to carry it full (there is a useful extra carry handle on this one) and tip out the contents. They are very easy to season, and to clean afterwards. I heed the advice to only use medium heat on my ceramic hob when using these pans, and have found that perfectly sufficient. On my last pans the handles were coated with non-stick as well, which deteriorated over time and went too sticky to use any more.I won't have that problem with the steel riveted handles on the Le Creuset pans, and they go from hob to oven or grill as well, which was the primary reason for choosing them - now I can souffle omelettes under the grill and finish off seared meat in the oven without having to transfer the food into different receptacles. I can highly recommend them.

I'm new to spending a small fortune on kitchen equipment. I used to be the guy who bought a frying pan in the supermarket on a whim. So, putting up the cash for this was a big deal to me. I wanted something to work well with the induction hob on my cooker, and I wanted to never have to buy another frying pan again. On first use I was surprised at how good a frying pan can get. I used to think all frying pans were equal - but they're not. This one is surprisingly light and sturdy but is weighted enough to give the feel of quality. It's a little slower to heat than my cheaper pans, but when it's ready, it cooks brilliantly. I've used it for meats and vegetables and they both come out with better flavour than I've known at home. They never stick to the pan, and they're cooked evenly every time. And it's so easy to clean. I can't stress this enough. It's incredibly easy to clean. The dirt almost falls off it. I wish I'd bought one of these years ago. I'm putting money in my piggy bank to buy the next one.

It's been over 2.5 yeara now as of Aug 2016 since we bought this and this is is our everyday and only pan. We have cooked and heated many different foods over the year and it always performs great. We are using this with an induction cooker with rarely using high power settings. The meat/seafood sears quickly without losing any water, you can even cook/reheat pizza in it and becomes deliciously crispy. We never had a problem of sticking, usually nothing sticks, in some rare cases of well done steaks it needed a little bit more care, but it was cleaned up easily by a sponge and little bit soap. There is a slight discolouration in the middle, which is now a brownish hue, but the performance is still excellent.Previously we tried Tefal Jamie Oliver and Kuhn Rikon Ceramic, but this pan is not even comparable to those.Highly recommended.

Loads of reviewers have bemoaned the loss of non-stick performance after a year or so but in many cases it's clear what is going wrong - they're running them too hot. Never use these pans on maximum heat. If your dial goes to 9 (as our AEG does) never cook on more that 7 and back off from that once up to temperature. The warning sign is discolouration. If the surface shows the slightest sign of going brown you're running it too hot and the inevitable loss of performance will follow. We also never use anything more abrasive than a cloth to clean them - no not even a brush. And of course, as everyone knows, never use metal utensils but I'd go further and say stick to softer plastic or wood and even then don't use excessive force in stirring, scraping, serving etc. Do these things and the pans will last years.

Having been disappointed with a ceramic pan which failed after a few uses, I pushed the boat out and bought one of these and, WOW, I'm so glad I did.I've used this pan many times now and each time the food slides out with no problem. I do use a little oil for cooking and after I've finished, I leave the pan to cool for a while before washing it out using a soft sponge scourer and then put a spray of oil in which I wipe out using a paper towel - very little trouble and my pan is ready to use again. The only thing I've found that does stick just a little is tomatoes but I understand this is usual - no real problem though.I unhesitatingly recommend one but use plastic or wooden utensils so as notto scratch the surface.

An excellent non stick pan, heats very evenly and nothing sticks to it.But, treat it with care. They don't like getting really hot, you might get away with it once or twice but the non stick surface eventually gives up the ghost and then everything sticks to it. Once the colour starts to turn from a gunmetal/black to dark brown the end is nigh. The instructions say low to medium heat which is enough for most things but I've pushed my luck with the heat a few times and as a result this is my second one (the previous lasted about 6 years). If you're the sort of cook that likes to flash fry steak in a smoking hot pan so it's heavily caramelised on the outside but very rare on the inside this isn'tthe pan for you.

I'm on my third 30cm pan, but I use it every day. They are very good quality, particularly the base and the non-stick is quite hard wearing, but will only give you around two years' use if you use it daily. The 'lifetime' guarantee is pretty worthless as it covers only manufacturing defects and any scorching on the base invalidates it (and you have to cook very moderately not to inflict any scorching) - some retailers will give you a discount if you return the worn out pan. The sums work out at about 15p per use - I don't think that's bad going for quality cooking. Obviously, don't use metal, hand wash and follow the preparation instructions. Fiskers are better, but I've yet to find a comparable size pan.

This is by far the best frying pan I have ever used. As other people have said, it's so non stick that it doesn't need oil for general cooking, only when oil is an integral part of the ingredient such as fried bread.I didn't buy this from Amazon so it's not a verified purchase, but I came here with a word of warning. I accidently left the heat on under the pan all night and needless to say it destroyed the non stickiness. However, I love this pan so much that I am not even going to hesitate to replace it with another one despite the expense. That is how highly I rate them!I've also bought the saucepans in the same range now,and they too are marvellous but not as magical as the frying pan :-)

I find this a great little pan. It is exactly as described, and comes with excellent care instructions which if followed should give good service. I have not had it that long but I find the surface easy to care for, and it performs well even with fat/oil free cooking. It is so refreshingly light after having been used to an 'old style' Le Creuset frying pan, which admittedly was larger in diameter, but was so heavy that it was almost impossible to lift and tilt with one hand. This left no hands free with which to use any tool to remove contents etc. and any attempt at this seemed qute dangerous and almost wrist dislocating!

This is by far the best frying pan I have ever used. I have now had it for a month and I use it pretty much every day. Nothing sticks to it, it is the easiest pan to clean.I really look after it though, I oil it fairly often with corn oil, and I never start it on high heat or let it smoke. It is very lightweight compared to other non-stick and oven proof pans.It distributes the heat really well, it is very hard to burn any kind of food with it, even thinly sliced garlic which burned in a span in my last pan.I highly recommend it, this is a great pan and will probably last a few years if you take good care of it.

This was the first Le Creuset non-stick frying pan I bought and, having used it now intensively for a year, I'm still impressed every single time by how well it performs frying a huge variety of food: meat (of any kind), fish, potatoes, eggs.. You name it, this pan will fry it to perfection, and thanks to the solid iron handle you can sear meat on the hob and then let it roast to perfection in the oven as well. Washing up is a doddle, all it takes is warm water, a bit of dishwasher product and a gentle scrub. My kids start salivating as soon as they see me take this pan out of the cupboard, need I say more?
