I needed a new pair of oven gloves and wasn't quite sure what I wanted, so looked at the reviews that others had made. I cook a lot of breads and pizza which require the oven to be at it's hottest temperature and so wanted gloves that would protect my hands from the heat. I previously owned a cloth set of gloves that were not joined together and felt that for me this was the best configuration. However, although well padded the previous set of gloves did start to let some heat through, which as they were nearing the end of their life got worse. I therefore started to look at what was on offer in silicone protective gloves and eventually decided to purchase two gloves as I liked the freedomthis gave me.These gloves are excellent because they are very long on me - coming almost to my elbows - so protect my arms when reaching to the far back of the oven. So far they haven't let any heat through to my hands, even when the oven is working at 300 degrees C. They also have super grip and are large enough for my husband to be able to use as well (he has very large hands).I would recommend this glove to any cook that wants full protection from high oven heat and a firm grip.

Got this one in Ocado first (which was more expensive) and loved it! I searched amazon and found they sell it cheaper so got another without hesitation as I wanted for both hands. It is made for right handed but doesn't make any difference if you wear on your left hand. I cook everyday and use oven and pans everyday, probably bought and threw away at least 10 pairs of oven gloves. Previously bought similar looking cheaper/shorter one but had to go into the bin as it was burnt and melt after short use. It is so built with very good heat resistant which doesn't melt or feeling hot even holding things at very high temperature while gloves going in/out of oven, easy to clean which is very important if you are not keen on washing thick oven gloves every couple of days, and long enough to cover your hands and arms.. I found this ideal in every respect. Now I see sellers have pair gloves style that are attached to each other but shorter length to cover hands. I think it may look more stylish but I would have still bought 2 of these. Very practical, safe item and worth every penny! Highly recommended.

I'm a frequent over-ambitious filler of lasagna dishes, so removing them from the oven is quite a tricky proposition. If you've ever had hot sauce soak through your oven glove you'll know where I'm coming from: do I drop it or get burnt? It's often not a choice and I've cursed my seared flesh for letting go more than once. Not any more! Mwa ha ha! Seriously, it's as enjoyable as walking into an air-conditioned building in the height of summer. 100% waterproof, 94% heatproof, 85% flexible, 62% grippable. That's probably where these gloves fall down a smidge, since if you get hot oil on them, the gloves won't soak it up and can become lubricated. I've never dropped anything because of that, but objects behave strangely through lubricated silicone oven gloves. But that's the trade-off: it either soaks through and burns you, or remains on the surface and lubricates the glove. No getting around that. I'm very happy with them.

These mitts are brilliant, so much better than cloth ones (I bought two as most of my oven cooking is in large trays that you need to use two hands for). You do not feel any heat through them even when holding for a long time. The length of the mitts are great, they reach just below my elbow so I can reach well into the oven without being burnt, and they are also great for protecting my hands and arms when draining hot water from saucepans. The ridged design helps with the grip too. They are so easy to keep clean that in over a year of using them I have only ever needed to just wipe them clean and not needed to wash them. They fit well enough on my average size female hands to be easy and comfortable to use, they do feel a little odd at first if, like me, you've always used cloth ones before but you soon get used to them. I wouldn't want to be without them now.

I bought two of these as i was sick of low quality gloves, and also those pairs of gloves that are linked together. I was prepared to spend a bit more so i could get exactly what i wanted and never have to buy another set again.it appears to have worked - i've had them for over a year now. Because they're rubbery, they don't get messy. they don't burn and they grip perfectly. The gloves fit either left or right handed. They can handle very hot temparatures whilst still being lightweight enough to manipulate things and carry objects without dropping. Also, which is excellent, they are pretty long on the wrist/forearm, which means no accidental burns from the door or sides of the oven. This is bona-fide safety gear. They even have a little loop so you can hang them up

This is an extremely large oven glove. The silicon stretches about 285mm from the tip of the glove to the cuff, with another 95mm of black material beyond that. Therefore it covers most of your forearm nearly up to your elbow, which I'm sure will protect against almost all possible steam inflicted burns. The silicon material is extremely heat resistant. You can take something extremely hot out of the oven and stand holding it indefinitely without being burned. I've had other oven gloves that wouldn't even given two seconds of protection. The main problem with this glove is if you just buy one, it is going to be very awkward to take a heavy cast iron casserole out of the oven with just one hand.In my opinion, a much better option is to buy

I have always avoided purchasing oven gloves, as when I have used them in the past, I have found the heat still comes through. I was sceptical about this glove, and only bought it for my husband to use when turning the metal kebab sticks on the bbq as he burnt himself previously. He found the process of taking it on and off when alternating between tongs for flipping steaks/burgers etc too much hassle though as they are large and the excess material made it difficult for him to grip other utensils when wearing them.I however, have used it non stop for loading and removing all manner of items in the oven. I can't get over how thin they feel, yet don't let any heat through!

I bought 2 of these, as I don't like to the the all-in-one types with 2 hands...Easy to use - not stiff so you can use your hand to pick up objects much more comfortably and easily, and the heat protection is superb. Totally recommended**UPDATE**The inner lining on one of the gloves broke (i.e. the sewn seam inside) so my fingers would move through to the silicone layer... and then I could feel the heat much more intensely, which made it unusable. The seller wasn't able to help when I contacted them, but they advised getting in touch with Kitchencraft directly, who were great and sent me a replacement immediately.

I burned my thumb when hot fat/liquid soaked through my fabric oven glove. I found these online and bought two ( they are sold singly ). You could get away with one if you are able to hold every roasting tin etc with one hand, but it is safer with two. They do work and I can comfortably hold a hot tin or dish without rushing to put it down again. They are large and cover your wrist too. Don't expect them to fit like a leather glove - they feel a little cumbersoime at first but you get used to the feel and appreciate the protection against hot liquids as well as hot utensils.

I bought these feeling slightly wary of what hubbie would make of them - he does most of the cooking. However, he says they are really great - they block the heat, grip the trays, and are a generous fit. I add that they can also be wiped clean.Unlike it appears from the picture, these gloves actually have a long arm sleeve which covers at least half of the lower arm. Ours are red in colour. These gloves are about function over looks - and when they are so head over heels more functional than cloth oven gloves, who cares about looks. Hence 5 stars.

I got fed up with listening to my wife screaming and shouting that she was burning her hand or fingers using the standard cloth type oven glove, so I bought her this having read the great reviews, and guess what.......no more complaining.I expected the glove to melt when taking a tray out of the oven that had been in there for hours, but no melting and no sense whatsoever that you are holding something so hot.Do what I did and buy your wife an early xmas present, so buy her this glove.

What can I say? Does the job it was bought to do. It's not very exciting, but most of us need to take things out of the oven occasionally and this definitely keeps burns at bay. It was bought because we don't keep our oven pristine clean (all of the time!), and I was getting tired of trying to wash oil stains out of previous oven mits. Most of them ended up in the bin after a year or two. With this you just run it under the tap with some soap and give it a wipe. Simple as.

The only downside of these brilliant gloves is how big they are - wish they did a slightly smaller version - but I wouldn't be without them as they work even when wet, are easy to clean and prevent those nasty forearm burns I used to get. These are the second pair I've bought. The first pair lasted about 6 years! They only died because my son cut them right through with scissors by accident and then I left the other one on the hob... whoops.

Kitchen Craft Master Class Silicone Oven Glove. I like the idea these protect from burning right the way up the arm. The thumb which is moulded a bit too thick for my use gets stuck on the oven door as I open it, but I just grip the glove harder, just a case of getting used to it I guess, I like to use these I get a pair, when going to the back of the oven or getting heavy wet or dripping pans from the oven.Take caremrbluenun

Hot stuff with just a moment of skin contact can result in embarrassing chastisement from precocious children for using expletives in the manner for which they were invented; confound those pesky children with a Kitchen Craft Masterclass Seamless Silicone Oven Glove with either its intended use or, if you couldn't be doing with the faff of working out which hand to put it on, a swipe round the dear little mites' chops.
