My husband always prefers padded, brightly coloured mitt things, but I've stubbornly stood by my old fashioned double oven gloves for years, and have got through many pairs. As my old ones disintegrated, I bought these - and they're pretty darned good. My only concern is that the double layer insulation is only on one side, as my previous pairs were all round, but I'm just a bit more careful about sliding my hands in the right way now.For the price, £6, they're an absolute bargain - you just don't feel any heat at all. The tightly woven cotton knit is sooo much better than just polycotton coated padding, and these are strong too.You will notice, as you use them more and more,

+ : Reliable good quality waffle weave so good heat resistance, good length for getting larger/wider items out of the oven, well hemmed and finished around the edges so will keep shape over time.- : 1. too big for my hands, and I'm a medium 7 1/2. My hands are all over the place inside the very generous glove pocket part, which means grasping an item through the glove is difficult. 2. The glove pockets are on one side only, not both sides. I prefer double sided, because if the glove twists on picking up, you can easily find a glove pocket at the other end. Double sided is also safer if you have anyone absent-minded or a new, inexperienced cook in the house (I'm thinking teenage and older children).=>Overall: Good quality.

I was looking for top quality oven gloves, but got fed up after reading the reviews. So just to make an order up for free delivery I purchased these for £6.00.They turned out far better than our old expensive type.They are cotton. An off white cotton which will get dirty quick. The heat part is quite thick and protects enough from heat. They arent fireproof, but I dont intend using them on the barby.For £6.00 you cant go wrong and are certainly as good as other expensive types.UPDATE:12 months later and still great. A great buy for now £5.00.UPDATE:21 Months later and just purchased a second pair of these, but only to make another order up for minimum free delivery.

So pleased to find these gloves, most shops nowadays sell the thin cotton 'pretty' gloves, which offer no protection at all. These are large in size, but not too large. I find you need to be able to slip a glove on and off easily, not struggle. Plus cover for wrists. The thick cotton is marvellous when handling hot items in and out of the oven. Price was great too, another reason not to buy the 'pretty' ones who charge the earth for a pattern! I highly recommend these.

This oven glove is probably best I have bought as offers much more protection than others I have purchased in kitchen stores. It is long enough to be used for largest of oven dishes . Make sure you read instructions as has to be washed prior to first use. Additionally it is advertised as having a life of 20 wash cycles. Therefore dont wash it too often. Obviously machine washing must have a long term detrimental effect on the fabric. I

A nice plain oven glove, easy to launder which after three months use appears to be very durable, despite washing quite a lot.In terms of providing protection from hot pans, the insulation properties are good as is the protection offered to the back of hands and wrists.Overall a noce and durable product which represents good value.

I bought a set like this years ago but when they finally fell apart I got some silicone gloves. Unfortunately, I couldn't use those so searched for something like I'd had before and was quite pleased to find these. They have lived up to expectations. Thick, easy to use, easy to wash. Hopefully they'll last years, like my old ones did.

Oven gloves are excellent value for money. I was uncertain as to whether to buy them as I have spent a lot of money over the years on oven gloves that just let the heat through. Take care when washing, use low temperature as advised by manufacturer. May not look super clean but will last longer perhaps they should make in black!

Does what it says on the tin, I bought these after burning my hand while taking something out of the oven, I only had a single glove and using a tea towel was just no use. These are good quality, reasonably priced and I haven't burnt myself yet while using them. I can't really ask for much more!

Bought 4 pairs and they are excellant, can hold hottest pan without any problem, good length, and large hand pocket, and wash in washing machine.Had been having trouble finding quality thick oven gloves, tried lots of different types. These fill the bill perfectly, will be ordering these again

Fantastic, used several times now. Cannot feel any warmth or heat through the mits. Would defintly recommend. Most mits I've bought in the past have never worked as well as these. I remember having these type at school in cookery lessons, that what made me purchase them. I am glad I did.

When I bought it I got mixed up with the names and though this was "kitchen aid" but research shows that this brand is also sold by "John Lewis". Despite the price and the retro look, (my mother had some like this 20 years ago) they do the job well.

Great value for money! They honestly look so much more expensive than they are! The actual material is quite thin but the actual glove part is super padded and super heat resistant. The overall look and the waffle effect is super on trend too.

I bought these oven gloves and was very pleased at the quality, I am so pleased I am going to buy some more. They are very roomy and protect your wrists more than other oven gloves I've had, would recommend and the price is excellent!

I find this type of oven glove much more effective than the standard material type ones. They absorb the heat better and less transfer through to my hands. Also more flexible and bend better allowing better grip.
