This is a simple but very versatile and useful kitchen tool. If I am taking a cast iron casserole out of the oven, this is the perfect thing to place it on to protect the kitchen bench and to stop the casserole sliding around. If my usual oven gloves are not to hand, this cool tool can be used in their place to handle hot baking trays and cake tins. It is also perfect for removing a lid from a casserole while it is still hot. I occasionally use it on my dining room table when placing bowls of hot food on there. I have also used this to get a better grip on a jar lid that if refusing to budge easily. The cool tool won't break if you drop it like some cast iron trivets will,it doesn't tear or burn easily and it is very easy to keep clean. I have had other trivets made by different manufacturers and this one does feel like it is of better quality than the others. I would highly recommend this cool tool to anyone.

Have a couple of these (having bought cheaper ones which were rubbish) and they are excellent, as well as being seemingly indestructible. They give enough height to warrant putting much larger dishes on them, and are flexible enough to allow use as temporary oven gloves, when the usual gloves go missing. Only niggle, and this is so minor I feel embarrassed stating it, is that the ridges are so thick it's hard to dry - you can't stand it up to drain and drying flat won't work as the upper ridges will still be wet. I think actually that this niggle is particular to me, because the drying cloth has been hidden, along with the oven gloves...

I've acquired 5 of these little beauties over the years. I use them as protectors on my induction hob against scratches, trivets for hot pots on the worktops either near my hob or next to the kitchen sink. I use them as pot handles to fish out casseroles etc from the oven and as an aid to unscrew stubborn jar lids.. They're mats for hot dishes on my dining table. They're used as temporary lids on pans and bowls And I've also found that they work as diffusers on my induction hob to ensure a low simmer. They slot into the dishwasher as required...and 4 years on all look as good as new. Indispensible!

I actually bought mine with the express purpose of cutting into 4 to stop my microwave from sliding away from me on the work top .I slide them in place under the metal feet as its not that weighty. Against the gas mans advice, I cut a TINY strip off to put under each corner of the new iron pan guards to stop them being iron on stainless steel, as the new gas hob came without rubber feet. It was a Bosch too. Needless to say may melt if used near a wok gas .Mine isn't. These would protect the purpose for which it is made very well too. Very pleased.

Bought this 3 years ago and it is still as good as new. Have read other reviews with concerns about heat getting through but have had no issues myself on granite worktops. Basically just leave hot pans for a short while (not sure why you would leave them hot for longer periods). Have given it 4 stars as there maybe problems with damaged surfaces if left for longer but not going to test this though. Oddly enough this item has other uses for example we have our water filter standing on it permanently and just remove it when required for hot pans.

So indispensable that I bought another. May seem a bit pricey, but these are useful in so many ways. Originally purchased to protect a granite work top, these get used to place hot pans on, to prevent mixing bowls sliding, as placemats, in lieu of a glove to grab something out of the oven and to the horror of our eagerly awaiting dogs, as a non slip surface to place under a plate to carve meat. When this little workhorse has performed all day, it's treated to a spin in the dishwasher.

Le Creuset is sold on its name and reputation and has a price tag to match it. This is exactly what I expected and it does exactly as expected. Its a nice vibrant colour for the kitchen (dark orange if anyone needs a description) and will last for years. It is not particularly large but it works for a standard saucepan and that is what I I wanted and it does not disappoint. It is expensive however for what it is hence it does not deserve 5 stars and gets 4.

This is a permanent feature on our worktop in the kitchen and looks good and does the job. The only problem is that it does appear to have been too thin on one occasion and we have a ring shaped burn mark on our wooden counter where one of the ridges in it must have been in contact with the worktop. Perhaps this was an accident on our part but we are now a lot more cautious. Might be worth getting something thicker if you have an easily markable worktop.

Already have one of these in white, and wanted another but couldn't find white online anymore so got black instead. Colour doesn't make any difference, this is a product that works every time. We have white worktops and we can put anything, any shape, any size, at any temperature on these little gems without a mark to be seen on the counter afterwards. Brilliant. I would recommend these all day long.

I originally bought this for my pans while searching for a tea pot stand. Odd, I know. However, this now serves as my teapot mat. It helps protect the kitchen surface from scorch marks and also catches tea spillage and is easy to clean.I do also use it for what it should be used for, putting my hot pans on.Chuffed to have a duel purpose and saved me money on buying a teapot stand! :)

Exactly as described, this looks sleek and stylish in my kitchen. Make sure you realise how small 20.5cm is, as I hadn't really noted the size upon purchase. However, it holds a pot and stops my quartz worktop from discolouring! It is expensive for a pot stand but considering I bought it, I knew that before I got it. Brilliant!

This is a fairly straightforward product, so I'll just point out 3 nuances compared to cork-based mats, which is where I'm coming from.- This is much thinner.- This is waterproof and dishwasher safe, and hence much easier to clean.- This has a hole round the end, and thus can be hung up.Super simple, super effective.

I bought 2 of these to use as trivets to put hot pans on, but I have used one to put the kettle on as it is the perfect size to save your worktop from getting scratched and water stained. It is made of flexible silicone and is non slip so it is also good to stop your chopping board or mixer bowl from moving.

Superb. Washes easily. i use this to stop hot plats and tea pots/mugs tarnishing my work desk (which is waxes/polished). Never gets hot underneath. If it can protect my fussy wax finish it's certainly good enough for general use in a kitchen. I particularly like the hole so I can hang it up when not in use.

I have two of these one black one red and they do exactly what it says on the tin. They look good on my black sparkly kitchen worksurface and they also serve a useful purpose although they are just a piece of silicon my Le Creuset pans sit on them fine with no damage to anything - love them!!
