I have been reasonably impressed with what can be achieved when using this Joseph Joseph Spiro hand held spiraliser in the kitchen. It makes preparing vegetables a bit more interesting and fun giving results like you would usually see in a restaurant. This spiraliser comes with three interchangeable blades to suit most of your spiralising needs – coarse and fine for noodles plus grating for cheese and salads - they are quite sharp so take care not to cut yourself. However, the design of the product enables you to choose which of the three styles to fit without actually having to come into contact with the sharp steel blades themselves. When it comes to kitchen products, anybody who’s read any of my previous reviews of Joseph Joseph products will know I’m quite the fan. This being my first spiraliser, having previously been put off by the size and flimsy look of some of the alternatives, I was interesting to see their take on the item.Build quality first and this is where the product generally excels. The pieces fit together neatly, feel sturdy and have the sharp edges and plastic protected. There are three different pieces to go into the top, for thick, thinner and grating your food. In my experience these worked well for more solid items such as courgettes but less well for softer vegetables or cheese.

This is a very compact spiraliser that, using one of the three interchangeable and colour-coded blades will grate, create coarse spirals or fine spirals - coded yellow, dark green and light green respectively. As the blade units stack on on another for storage the whole unit takes up very little space. And, as the blades are in the coloured plastic housing there's no need to touch them - just as well as they are extremely sharp.The whole unit is dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.Negatives, well extracting the unit from its plastic packaging is a massive effort - to the extent that I thought I might break the plastic container trying to release it! Good item that feels sturdy dishwasher safe and also safe whilst using it for fingers.Compact yes so if doing a big portion of say cheese you might need to empty the container after so long as not massive (I did grate a block of cheese for freezing so more than usual amount I expect).The unit is compact and the three grater tops all fit inside each other in the unit, so no rummaging in cupboards trying to find them.As always with graters you end up loosing the end of your veg usually cause of the blade and fingers with this one however not as much waste I found and good easy item for dressing up plates with fancy looking veg or grated cheese to add to dishes.Love this range of items as they do all seem to last well previous items I have bought have so hoping this one will be the same.

This is very handy, and beautifully compact; ideal for those with limited kitchen space. It is a grater and spiralizer in one. There are three blades, the yellow grater, then two sizes of spiralizer. The lid has a textured surface inside to hold the vegetable or fruit in place. It is easy to use; and is a great way of making the vegetables or fruit more appealing. I made a salad with spiralized cucumber, carrot and apple, with some walnuts and Caesar sauce, which went down very well. The key is to ensure the item to be grated or spiralled is no bigger than the device width wise, and no taller than the sides of the lid which fit through two notches to make the process easier.I've been impressed with this,

Works beautifully for me! As another reviewer says, it's all about getting the size of the piece right, you place that on the chosen blade, place the lid on with the two prongs through the slots on the blade, either side of the veg, (it doesn't specifically tell you that but surely self evident?) then gently press down, turning as you go. The bumps on the lid grip the veg firmly as it turns et voila! Lovely curls, neatly held in the beaker. Nothing too difficult about that? And it's a lovely object too, like all JJ products and unlike most other spiralizers I've seen!!

This gadget comes with three blade choices – coarse and fine for spiralizing noodles plus a grater for cheese or slaw. It makes great vegetable "pasta" out of courgettes and carrots in particular. It is pleasingly compact and dishwasher proof. Easy to use. Sturdily made and blade safe.Everything fits inside the soupcan sized unit so it packs away neatly.I think I prefer to use more traditional graters for cheese but for the healthy pasta noodle thing - this is spot on. There are more elaborate versions on the market but this one suits me fine.

Great for grating cheese as the container holds enough for a decent amount of material. Courgette spirals also easy, but needs emptying for a second portion. Not tried anything else yet. A bit of veg does get wasted because of way the lid fits over the blade, but it's OK. Like that it's easy to store and use - have other graters which take up too much cupboard space and aren't as easy to use. Have no idea what "sheerness" and "thickness" mean in the review, so removed the categories. Definitely worth having.

I'm really impressed with this item and use it all the time. It's perfect for making courgette noodles and spirilaising all sorts of veg. It cleans really simple and is easy to assemble and all stacks together to store away easily. It has nice sharp Adès amd you don't have to use pressure to get the veg through the blades as the top locks onto the vegetable very well and just simply turning it pushes the food down nd past the blades.

I have a big counter top, heavy duty capitalise for when I'm doing family sized portions, but it's a lot of faff for just me, and I wanted something smaller and easier to use. This is perfect! Simply cut your veg to 4-5inch lengths, stick on the spikes and twist the top to capitalise into the cup. No mess, no fuss, perfect for single portions. It also has a fine and coarse grating disks. Love this!

I had to write a quick review for this as I was so irritated by the other reviews. This works fine as a VEGETABLE spiralizer. It’s compact and easy to clean and store. It can be a bit tiring on the arm as you have to apply a bit of pressure when you turn it, so it might not be suitable for people with mobility problems. It is not a cheese grater! To grate cheese…use a cheese grater!

This is a compact little gadget no bigger than a coffee mug so quite easy to store. The main product I spiralize are courgettes and I use it constantly . Firm grip and a few twists and it’s courgettini for supper - again. I haven’t used it for anything other than courgettes I would imagine it’s hard work for carrots. So good I’ve bought one for my daughter too!!

You can’t beat a Joseph Joseph product. They are so beautifully designed for the modern kitchen. The spiraliser is very easy to use and the blades are very sharp and cut well making lovely spirals from my veggies, making them more versatile in cooking. I’ve never owned a spiraliser before, I thought it was one of those fads, but having used one I am converted!

A three blade spiralizer that makes boring salads come alive, we use this a lot and usually with carrots, it makes coleslaws that taste amazing but if you are just looking at eating healthier but making it taste better and look better then you can't really go wrong. Recommended.

Have only used for courgette so far, as long as vegetable pieces are flat on ends is quick and easy to use with great results. You end up with some spare bits in the lid, I save up in freezer for veg soup etc so no wastage. Small for storage and easy to clean.
