I actually found my original Canon hood after buying this so I can make a direct comparison- it is a brilliant replacement hood and for £6.00 pounds and it cannot be beaten. It doesn't have the black felt inside like the Canon hood but it does have a matte interior finish which works perfectly. It's made out of heavy duty plastic, fits onto the lens perfectly with a click exactly like the Canon hood does and is as strong and robust as any lens hood I've owned. If you need a lens hood for your 24-70 L, get this one.

Love this hood! the quality is just like the original canon hood, amd that makes it superb for the price. Just like the canon version but without the Canon name that you usualy pay for.

Solid grip on my 24-70mm 77 width lens. Doesn't come on and off too easy, but does the job and way cheaper than buying the canon version.
