I bought this to go to Venice in August. I get headaches in bright sun and the light hurts my eyes and I was on sight seeing holiday. Not only is this a very attractive parasol but it works beautifully. Any time we were stood around in the full sun I could use it and it instantly provided some cool shade, I have fair skin and didn't burn once and it meant I could enjoy the lovely views without eye strain. Even the Italian tour guide came under it's shade when we were in St. Marks Square. The only difficulty I had was trying to get it back in it's cover once I'd opened it the first time, there is a tag that you can Velcro it together with but I had to abandon the cover.

I bought this umbrella as we were going on holiday around the Mediterranean. I knew I would need this protection as I do not take to very hot weather. We went on trips out and I would not have been able to go without the umbrella for protection. It absolutely does the job of stopping any ultra violet rays. I was so pleased with it, as without it I could not have gone out in the thirty degrees heat!! Apart from that, it is a beautiful colour and with all the leaves inside it had a cooling feeling anyway. It was perfect. I will always take it on holiday now. Many people remarked on it saying how nice it was, and they wished they had bought one as well. It made a success of the holiday.

Felt very sturdy but slightly on the heavy side at over 400g, however this is down to a good solid frame and double thickness fabric. It is very effective at solar protection and was an absolute godsend for helping me be out and about in 38 degrees. Far better than a hat unless in very crowded places. It can be a bit stiff to put up and there is a knack to shaking it out to make this a smoother operation. It folds back down well if done carefully and goes back into the sleeve perfectly, if the spokes are in the right place and the fabric is pleated as it should be. I have never used a sun umbrella before but am so pleased that I purchased this particular one as it does seem robust and I think

Just received this and was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews about it being heavy and also saying it’s impossible to put back in its sleeve. It is a little heavier than a normal foldable umbrella but by no means heavy. Also I opened it and put it up to check it was ok and I folded it and put it back in the sleeve. You just have to make sure you flatten each section before rolling it up, you can’t just scrunch it up as it’s not going to work. As I’ve only just received it I can’t comment on it’s effectiveness at shading me from the sun. It seems pretty sturdy although again until I’ve used it I can’t say for certain. All in all I’m very pleased with it.

Provided much appreciated shade in up to 40C heat on holiday, and got lots of compliments over the inner design! It’s not a substitute for sun cream in that heat but it kept the blazing sun off my fragile Irish skin so I’m happy.I was worried about the weight after reading the reviews because my hands are crippled with arthritis, but even I could carry it around all day without a fuss. It’s really no heavier than the average umbrella.I haven’t tried putting it back in the case - none of my other brollies have a case and they do just fine. It does take a bit of scrunching to get the velcro strap around it, but don’t they all?Would recommend to fellow sun-shyers.

This is such an attractive sun umbrella, with a lovely inner pattern as well as the outer design. I'm very fair and this will be just right for holidays on the continent. Also useful for rainy days. I can't understand the reviews which say it is heavy - its not as heavy as a golf umbrella for example, but I don't find it heavy at all. The different layers require you to be careful when putting it up and down, but overall its just what I need. Fits in a handbag, what more could you want?

I live in Greece so we get a lot of sun and I like to protect my skin. This umbrella has saved me from sunburn a lot of times, as even with sunscreen if you walk outside at noon in the summer for a while you're bound to get burnt. It's very sturdy and just the right size. If it was larger it would be too heavy and bulky, if it was smaller it wouldn't cover you up adequately!If you want to protect your skin from the sun, I highly recommend this!

Very sturdy, well made and nice design. It's very effective at providing cool shade even on a really hot day, and I also like how neat and compact it is for easy carrying around.The only negatives are that it's quite difficult to get in and out of its sleeve, and the handle could be more comfortable to hold. That's it really. Would definitely recommend for those that baby wear and/or for those that want a small portable source of shade.

My first UV brolly, so maybe it comes with the territory, but it's a bit heavy for carrying around, especially when in summer you usually want to go lightweight about things.Really nice product though, and handy in the British summer, for which the motto applies: "Brolly & Shades" no matter how much you believe there won't be a cloud in the sky...!

This parasol is robust and maybe a little stiff to open the first couple of times. I bought it for protection after having a skin cancer removed from my face. On the hottest day it provides cooling shade just like sitting under a tree.It is not easy to fold back up again but take your time and it will fit back into the protective sleeve again.

Purchased as a present for someone going to Spain and France on holiday. She was highly delighted with both the quality and the pattern.Obviously, until her return, we will not know how effective it is as far as protection from the sun is concerned, but I am confident that it will bejust what is needed.

I bought this item for my daughter, as she had twice had operations for skin cancer, she is absolutely happy with it, she said besides keeping the sun off, it is cooling,( which was a boon during the heatwave), and is also a wet weather usage, so as she put it a win, win deal .

Perfect for shading from sun - we took to Greece and was life saver! At first tricky to close but do get hang of it quickly- it’s designed this way to ensure it’s truly compact without compromise on size when open.And we know it works in rainy London too.

This is such a beautiful item!!.It closes and folds with difficulty!!Only issue I’d say is the sleave it goes into is little tight but with perseverance it does go in!!.. but disregard less of that!! I’d recommend it for any occasion!... Stunning

This was recommended to me by Chinese colleagues in the UK and I bought it to use during a heatwave. It was wonderful. Like having a tree under which to shelter from the sun even in the most crowded city. If you burn in the sun, buy one!
