I tend to use the sander inverted most of the time. The 'stand' for it to mount inverted seems a bit feeble and uses two clamps supplied. I felt that the sander could be more securely held in place, but you get what you pay for. I have only used the sander briefly and it seemed o.k in use. Unfortunately I had a brilliant Elu one previously which is a tough comparison to make. This machine was enormously more expensive than the GMC one here and the difference in quality shows. My Elu finally bit the dust so a replacement was sought. I use a belt sander a lot although at my time of life (73) I cannot justify the additional outlay for a better quality machine. It is nicely made,

Great DIY belt sander, easy belt change no tools required, shop around for best price tho.
