Ghostbusters is a classic, and our 6 year old son recently got deep into it. He has seen the movies and we spoiled him with some of the related toys - he even has his own miniature PKE meter that he frequently uses to test my ectoplasmic energy levels. The original game came out on the PS3 and was beyond my scope of interest at that time. But the remastered version now looked like a nice game for my children to play and for me to join them. It’s is a new story, set after the Ghostbusters 2 movie and most seems voiced (and written) by the original actors. The opening sequence is quite exciting and plays much like the film. You’ll mostly run through settings from a 3rd- party perspective as a new team member. However you can also wear your PKE meter night vision goggles to detect the ghosts this switches to the 1st-person mode and in this mode you can spot and pick up artefacts as well.At the start of the game most of the locations characters from the original movie are reintroduced; the hotel, Slimer, the library. And while we haven’t progressed that much I’m sure we’ll run into the Stay Puft Marshmallow man at some stage. Its quite fun, though a bit repetitive to catch ghosts in your beams and to drag them into the traps that are placed on the floor. There is a handicap in a sense that damage caused costs money (to unlock a particular trophy, you’ll need to limit your damage to $100,000)It’s pretty easy game, more a movie-extension. But a good one at that. Albeit once you’ve completed the storyline there not much left to play unless you feel an urge to unlock trophies. Equipment can be upgraded by collecting money and upgrading in the menu system. There is no multiplayer, as far as I could find. You can choose from 4 weapons each with their own characteristics and use for specific ghosts. It’s quite easy to upgrade after a few missions. Though my children just play with the standard proton gun so far. From time to time you’ll need to cool off the proton pack after an intense blasting session. If you die, your team revives you, and you bring your buster buddies back to life. Both children love the game. Though my 6-year old needs a bit of assistance from time to time when he is playing on his own.The music and dialogue given the original voices (and writers) is excellent, and already making it a must buy for fans of the concept and a proper addition to the Ghostbusters franchise. The storyline is enjoyable albeit a little short. And its simply good fun to trap some ghosts. Though you’re not doing much else. It’s hard to comment on the visuals and graphics as I didn’t play the original PS3 game, but there is a whiff of non-PS4 quality, certainly with the character’s face animations. But that is not noticeable for the children. Its a good, enjoyable game, aside from a few minor issues I’m glad I purchased it.+ Excellent extension of the Ghostbusters movies+ Produced and voices by the cast.+ recognisable situation and location from the movies+ Easy to play+ Fun!- Lack of a multiplayer mode- Graphical presentations- Repetition- Length of the game- The German language packaging of our copy

I have to say I really enjoyed this remaster for the nintendo switch, I played it originally when I came out on the ps3 many moons ago and loved it. This is a direct port of that game for your nintendo switch. To be honest I can't see much improvements over the ps3 version , graphics are basically the same, sound and content, but it's GHOSTBUSTERS! One of the best 80s comedies and its a fantastic movie tie in based games. It's sets it's self out as true sequel to the original movies, (not that awful Melissa McCarthy reboot), so you get to visit original locations from the movies but also new locations to add to the 'busters universe. You even get to wander around the fire house and see references to the movies such as the Vigo painting and the dancing toaster, trust me there are loads. Its not as interactive as you think but its still a nice little addition. You get to Fight some of the more famous ghosts like slimmer, stay puft marshmallow man and the creepy librarian. You play as the rookie, a new ghostbuster in training, so you travel on missions with the original crew as Goza and other ghostly baddies are back and your there to bust them, and also be a guinea pig for the equipment Egon has invented. The sound in this game is fantastic, they have the original soundtrack and it works brilliantly. Especially the creepy music from the library ghost, playing the new York library level is especially erie thanks to the music. Also the original cast are back! Murray, Ramis, Hudson and Akroyd lend the voices and it's fantastic, its that true sequel we will never seen due to Ramis passing away (RIP), but there is a sequel comming soon. With the original cast back, it's an especially funny little game. Venkman is hilarious with his slimy ways.Obviously this is a single player experience and that's it, the levels have collectables in them like haunted phones or possessed toys. The campaign will take you around 10ish hours depending on the level of difficulty. I've mostly played this in handheld mode and it's ran fine, docked mode runs well as well. The switch version is currently retailing round £25-£30 depending on where your looking. Ps4 and xbox are around £20, but i dont mind paying a little extra to have that portability. If you have never played ghostbusters and you love the original movies I can't recommend this any higher. But as someone who did play it originally I've loved going back to it and replaying it.Highly recommend.

I'll get straight to the point, only buy this if you have a Xbox one x or even a PS4 pro for that matter to take advantage of the 4k@60fps gameplay that looks beautiful. If you have a Xbox one (not the X) play the original 360 version back compatible because you won't really see a massive difference with this remastered version, only a bit better framerate. What's really smoked my brain is that they have removed the Co op mission based gameplay.... WHY!!I am a fan of this game from the 360/ps3 era that's why I brought it and I have a Xbox one X but wouldn't of bothered if I had a standard Xbox one/ps4. As it is though it does look gorgeous on the X and well worth the buy if your a fan of the game.I've given it a 4 star rating only because of the missing co op mode.I have tried it on a standard Xbox one and there isn't a any difference from the original, it's just better frame rates and a cleaner look which you would get from playing the original 360 version back compatible so only buy this remaster version if you don't own the 360 version. My advice is to wait for a price drop in the region of £15.00 if you just want to get it for a standard Xbox one and if you have a X or pro buy it now if your a fan of the game like me because it looks beautiful on those systems.UPDATE: Multiplayer is on the way as told by another review and also fixes to the game so I'm updating my 4star review to 5 star because now it will be a complete game that it should be.

Where do I start! I’m a massive Ghostbusters fan and have been excited for this since it was first announced. I’m mid way through the game and it’s simply amazing. The new textures look sharp, the soundtrack and voice acting is on par with the films and it runs smoothly in both handheld and docked mode. I would’ve paid double for this game, it’s a true gem. It’s written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis and features all of the original cast (including a cameo from Bill Murray’s brother as the new mayor!). The game’s also rich in Easter eggs and references and allows you to fully explore the fire station. Buy it! It’s amazing and I hope that one day they’ll make a sequel

Really enjoying this game so far! Not finished yet but fully entertained and hooked straight away. Took a minute to get used to the gameplay (how to catch the ghosts) but it’s not overly difficult but challenging enough to keep you engaged. The story is also great; not too many cut scenes and the characters are funny and the whole game creates a sense of nostalgia around the film. Not a game for exploring (like an open world) but there are a few things you can find from looking around which is cool. Really enjoying this game and recommend it!

this game is a personal favourite purely for its immense regard to detail and will forever be one of gaming’s most memorable movie adaptations however this remaster wasn't really necessary as i didn't enjoy playing it any more than i enjoyed the 2009 original. There was a lot of room for improvements that could’ve made it more pleasant to play through so although i enjoyed playing, i don't think it is totally necessary to purchase the remastered.

Just because the word ' remastered' is included in the title does not necesserily mean there is any major improvements in either graphics or game mechanics . This game looks a bit better and mechanics appear to have improved . I already owned it on 360 and thoroughly enjoyed it so that was my raison detre for purchasing it . A humourous and faithful digital representation of the titular movie and highly reccommended if you have seen it .

So happy this has been remastered such a good game i'm playing it on the one x and have noticed a slight improvement in the graphics game still plays great. Not encountered any problems with the game so far. Also the multiplayer will be added in a future title update the developers have confirmed this they are rebuilding it from the ground up. overall i highly recommend this remaster especially with forthcoming multiplayer update

This is a great game, bought it as I had previously played it when it first came out on the PS3 and my daughter was interested. We played it together and it's as great as the original. The only gripe I've got (and I had with the original) is how useless the team are for reviving you when your down, especially if its just you and one other. other than that though its great fun and I'd recommend it to anyone who hasn't played it.

If you didn't play the original release ten years ago and are a Ghostbusters fan this is a must play. Written by and starring the original cast it continues the narrative on from Ghostbusters 2.As a remastered game it's not that good looking and many of the cut scenes look identical to the original, but the story and gameplay make it totally worth playing either for the 1st time or a trip down memory lane.

Possibly my favourite Xbox 360 game! How did I miss it coming to Xbox one!I love this game, but then I am of an age where Ghistbusters was huge when I was a kid. It’s still a pretty nicely executed and entertaining game. You can see the fact it was written by Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd. The voice performances of the original film cast members just makes it all the more entertaining.

Good game but you have to be a ghost buster fan. It's a very linear on a rail game and I dont much replay value. It really is a mix of film and game. I'm having fun with it.Graphics are good - game controls unusual but I masters it within 20 minutes, awesome music.Only worry is that it really is a super linear game totally story driven more then any other modern game

7.11.2019

A great game, previously played on xbox360. Controls are questionable at times, especially if your switch joy -con is suffering from “drift” at the time like mine was. Runs smoothly, didn’t notice any frame drops. Good storyline, and looks great on my Nintendo shelf. Worth checking out if you’re a fan of the ORIGINAL movies (let’s ignore that newer one shall we )

24.10.2019

For anyone that missed out on this game on ps3 or 360 there is no better way or time to play this. By no means does it look new or modern, but fully captures the feel of the first two films, is voiced by the original cast, and is the (unofficial) ghostbusters 3 you've been waiting for. And for those that are unsure? 3 words... Upgradeable proton pack...

16.10.2019

Great revisiting this game. Not massively blown away by the graphical upgrade but it's still loads of fun to play. The banter between the original Ghostbusters cast still makes me smile. If you missed it the first time on PS3/Xbox 360 it's worth picking up now and it's a decent price too.
