I bought the Vidda Pro as I wanted a windproof and waterproof jacket with pockets in a more muted colour scheme. I've read some negative comments about the waterproofing and would have to agree, sustained exposure to heavy rain does result in water permeating the fabric, especially if you're wearing a rucksack. As Fjallraven suggest, it might be improved by adding more wax, but I haven't tried it yet. I didn't buy the jacket as a dedicated waterproof, so I'm not too concerned.For out and about in the countryside and general outdoors tasks, the waterproofing is fine. Where I live, we're quite high up in the Pennines and have had snow for over a month and a half, and the jacket has been great.
