I have just purchased this router which is my first Festool router, I also own a Dewalt router DW625 EK, I am pleased with this router and find it easy to use and setup, I dont find it too strong and am happy with the single handed operation. The only downside to any of the Festool range is the cost but as this is the 3rd Festool tool that I own I can say that I am very impressed so far. (I have the plunge saw ts55 with guide rails, the midi vacuum and this router). The tools are great to use and give a professional finish to the job they also influence how the customer sees you as a tradesman in my opinion.

Amazing quality built tool. So much power and built for the toughest routing jobs. Well designed with controls simple and easy to get to right where you need them. Dust extraction is always great with any Festool product which is important especially if you are creating dust from MDF or chipboard.I read the other reviews and don’t understand how a couple of them complained about the dust extraction.It’s an absolute joy to use. Worth every penny.

I disagree with MatR. He's obviously not experienced the full benefits of the 1400 and did not give himself a chance to get used to the machine.I have one and have had it 2 years now.Acuracy of depth stop is 10th of a mm and very good.Dust extraction is excellent with good extraction system.Build quality superb.Well balanced and smooth to use.And lots more benefits....As a cabinet maker - I cannot fault this machine.

Probably the best professional 1/2" router money can buy. Superb and a great addition to my other two Festool routers. If you're serious about woodworking then you won't regret purchasing this router.

Best out there... Fantastic machine. Dust extraction is why I bought it and it works great. Can do worktops in client's homes now without the dusty mess.
