Although we'd never had a dog in the Redhart household, it's something that we'd long been considering. When I saw a bag of dog food on offer, it struck me that it was clearly an omen. And not one of those bad omens, like the film "The Omen IV". It was already dumb enough when they thought they could replace Daniel LaRusso with some silly little girl who wants to learn karate, in the film "Karate Kid IV". Given that even the presence of Pat Mojito as Mr Miyagi couldn't save that great big sack of old buttocks, it's anyone's guess how they seriously thought they'd get away with replacing Damien Thorn with some silly little girl who is supposed to pass off as a credible antichrist.Anyway, without further digression, the point is that this struck me as a *good* omen- like the superbly enduring first "Omen" film, where that old bloke who used to be Doctor Who gets skewered by a spike and that guy from off of the other thing gets his head sliced clean off by a pane of glass. Not owning a dog, I naturally set straight to work on acquiring one as soon as I'd placed my order. Fortunately my brother Conrad is extremely well connected in the field of animals and was able to procure a beagle puppy for me, from his workplace. Naturally, I called him Jeremy. Jeremy seemed very impressed by the food, devouring it with nearly as much gusto as that with which he tore the furniture in our lounge to shreds, during his first night in the house. Anyway, after a few weeks, I decided that it was about time to test out the bold claims that the manufacturers make. Conrad volunteered to run him through his workplace laboratory- where vigorous testing revealed that Jeremy had been in tremendous health. The results came back showing an unusually strong heart, sturdy bones and an exceedingly lustrous coat. Unfortunately, "had" been in tremendous health is all too significant there- as Conrad had assumed that it just went without saying that the best method for acquiring meaningful data is that of vivisection. Still, the food seems to have lived up to its claims and Jeremy's untimely death was not altogether in vain. In fact, Conrad assures me that, aside from generating valuable information about his (prior) wellbeing, Jeremy's demise also helped to determine a means of preventing the onset of blindness in dogs. All credit to the teamwork of both Conrad and Jeremy- on behalf of those living creatures that may be spared as a result of their valiant efforts. I only hope that all animal lovers will be able to access his most recently published research paper in the field of animal welfare (in which he succeeded in conclusively proving that if you don't want your dog to go blind, you shouldn't keep pouring concentrated sulphuric acid directly into his eyes).

This excellent dry, crunchy food is what your puppy needs to give it a good start in life and to build up good health. This food is specifically tailored for Medium Breed pups and junior dogs i.e. dogs weighing between 10-25 kilos.Eukanuba is a complete food, so you will not need to add anything. Chicken and Turkey are the main ingredients which are mixed with other essential nutrients and minerals. Being a crunchy food it is also good for your dog's teeth. This starter food helps to build strong, natural defences, a healthy skin and coat, and lean muscles. It supports intestinal health by assisting in the maintenance of a normal digestive function and also assists with puppy growth and development. On the sack, there are clear instructions of what quantities of food to feed your pup on a daily basis. This is calculated using the age and weight of your pet. Obviously the recommended quantity can be split into more than 1 meal. 3 meals are good, spaced out through the day. That way there is no overload and therefore less risk of bloat. In addition playing, walking and eating are what dogs look forward to, so if the food is divided up into 3 meals there is more pleasure for your puppy. This dried kibble is great for using in activity toys, thus slowing down the intake of the food and also getting your little one to use its brain, just as it would have to in the wild foraging for food.I have included some photos so you can see the size of the kibble pieces.Don't be put off buying a sack of the food, just because it is large. It is the most economical way to buy it and as the sack is a very strong plastic with a zip top and stands up without flopping over, it is ok for storing.Interestingly, the Royal Army Veterinary Corps awarded the contract to Eukanuba to supply the dog food for the various categories of Army Working Dogs.

...handful we gave her, then asked for more! Our cats eat Iams products, which can be a bit smelly to human noses, and smelly on the cats' breath, but this had no odour that we could discern from the pack or on Bella's breath. However, it clearly smelt good to her, as she nosed at the bag as soon as it was opened, which doesn't happen with her existing food, though she is happy enough to eat that.We started her off on a mix of her old dry food and this one, so as not to upset her tummy with the change in diet, however, she hasn't shown any signs of any upset in the 3 mixed meals she had on day 1, or in the 10 days or so that she's been on this exclusively. There also hasn't been any discernible change to her toilet habits, which makes me think that the goodness of the food is being absorbed as it should, and just the stuff that needs to come out is what is coming out.In comparison to her existing dry dog food, this certainly has more quality ingredients, though the other isn't bad either. You do feed slightly less with this one, which means that a 15kg bag will last ages (I worked it out to be around 7 weeks). I am glad that the amazon price is far less than the RRP, as even just with the 10/11 days that she's been on this food, Bella's coat is shinier, and she seems even more energetic than usual, so I would consider getting more for her during the coming winter months. At the current price, it's not that much more than what we pay for her existing food, so yes, I would recommend this product.Handily, it comes in a sturdy resealable bag that stands nicely upright, though I don't know how that will hold up as it empties. A downside is that you do need to have storage space if you're buying in this quantity - or invest in a suitable drum that can be hidden in a cupboard.

You really do pay for quality. Eukanuba is over 80% digestable, so ideal for puppies as they need to go to the toilet less, making house traing sooo much easier. Their stool is solid and easy to collect. Puppies on eukanuba develop better mentally as well, it explains it on their website (not going into it here) but I can vouch for that, as we have dogs raised on no name puppy food and others on eukanuba, and the difference is shocking. If you want a chilled, well tempered and healthy dog, feed only this. It has so many benefits, from dogs living longer, no joint problems . It is not as expensive as you think either, due to the fact that you need to feed less then half the amount of eukanuba compared to other brands,a bag lasts a lot longer then other dog food. I have done the math and worked out that I pay about £5 more per bag of eukanuba then for tescos own brand, as it just simply lasts longer. 1 big 15kg bag lasts me 6 weeks with 3 lively TT's (midsize dog). One of the other benefits - no beard /paw staining on eukanuba, as the probiotics in it counteract the staining,

We switched our puppy to this soon after we got her because she was previously fed on Bakers complete, but constantly had an upset tummy. After talking to the vet, we decided she was not tolerating the Bakers, and gradually introduced the Eukanuba over the course of a week before switching completely. The difference was amazing, her toilet habits improved and she started gaining weight (having previously struggled to grow in line with her siblings). Eukanuba was a natural choice because our large breed puppy eats it too, and when the medium breed food was served, she rejected her own food in favour of this!As our puppies are only 3-4 months old, we add a little water to soften the Eukanuba because they were struggling to crunch it,but now have no trouble getting through it. The feeding guide is very clear and easy to use, and we use plastic cups marked with a line to measure out the portions rather than weighing each time. A 15kg bag goes a long long way when they are only little, so although it may look expensive, it works out good value overall.

We look after several different dogs from time-to-time, and so the opportunity to test out some of this well-known "premium" dog food seemed too-good to miss. I have also acquired some "Senior" variety as well to tailor to the older of the two spaniels currently in residence. The younger spaniel which this food is supposedly tailored for is a hyperactive black pup with one eye, called Harry. While he normally goes mental when it comes to feeding, he seemed to dial it up a notch when this Eukanuba was put into his bowl. Half of it went over the floor but he soon hoovered it all up leaving no trace behind. His enthusiasm for the food is a good sign, but he's not a particularly fussy eater.Long-term benefits I can't speak for,but I can say that both dogs appeared to be a little "windier" while on Eukanuba - which may or may not be a good thing. It is extremely expensive for dog food, so I will give it a 4 on that basis.

We took our 4 month old puppy off wet food and put her directly onto this Eukanuba Puppy and junior dried. We had tried her on a cheaper brand a couple of weeks ago and she hated it, but she can't get enough of the Eukanuba. Unfortunately, our 5 year old spaniel also loves it, even more than his own Eukanuba. It could be because the pieces are that much smaller. So, we now have to watch him round the puppy's food bowl!! The Eukanuba is expensive, but small amounts seem to satisfy the puppy more than large amounts of other wet or dried food. So, 15kgs of this is going to last a lot longer than 15kgs of another brand. The resealable bag is a very good idea as it keeps the food fresh.Too early to say whether Eukanuba is going to make any difference to our puppy long term, but it is clear from reading the list of ingredients that it contains more nutritional elements than cheaper brands. Highly recommended!

This food has great nutrition and carefully balanced ingredients that together give you all that a growing pup needs. It's also good for the smaller breeds as its size is ideal for the smaller dogs, together with the concentrated nutrition that smaller dogs require due to their smaller appetite. It also has probiotic bacteria, which might sound odd but when you have house dogs they often don't have the range of naturally occurring bacteria in their environment that a dog requires for optimum health. It also has the highest percentage of natural protein of any commonly available food, which means again that its ideal, and more natural for your dog.Buying it in bulk also saves money, compared to the prices you pay in supermarkets and vets for smaller bags, so all in all I'd say that this is the food I would recommend to anyone with puppy's or smaller dogs.

Well, Eukanuba is a well-known brand so I thought trustworthy one.Had a go at this on a younger Jack Russell dog.Of course the prestigious list of ingredients mean nothing if the dog will not touch the food but it went down well. And for a dog who is so fussy she only eats cat food, this was an amazing surprise. A diet change should never be sudden so this was introduced gradually. I cannot testify to a better coat as it may take longer for the benefits to show.As with all items like this a sustained approach is often the best so I think we'll keep this going as the benefits far outweigh the cost and if you come down to it, working out the cost per day is not that much, and let's face it the vet's specialist food would probably be about the same and this is delivered to my door. If you love your animal you do whatever it costs.

I am a dog lover and owner and firmly believe in ensuring that a dog's formative years are supported by the provision of a balanced diet which will stand him/her in good stead for the future. You wouldn't feed a baby substandard baby milk and it makes no sense to feed a much loved puppy on inferior dog food. This product is a complete dry feed with all of the vitamins, minerals and dietary essentials required by fast growing pups. It does not cause the dental problems which can be associated with tinned of food and it is clean and easy to dispense. While for economic reasons you may wish to feed your dog on a decent but lower quality dry feed in its adult life, you should never scrimp on quality when it comes to feeding a young dog. The dog and you will reap the benefits later.Oh and I forgot to mention - dogs love the stuff!

The dog likes this so much that she ate through the bottom of the bag before we had even opened it!The blurb has lots of comments about how and why the antioxidants work and I'm not disputing that but at the end of the end the dog likes it!Either mixed or dry then it's almost inhaled! As you may expect though, you need to make sure your dog has plenty of water as they will drink much more. Didn't notice any adverse effects switching foods which can occasionally happen, but I mixed the 2 types of food for a few days which may have helped.Although it's an expensive purchase initially, it's going to last for a long, long, long, long time as it's a huge 15kg bag. I'm not working out the calculations, but I normally spend around £6 a week on dog food and this will last longer than 10 weeks so seems to be good value for money.

I'll start by saying our working cocker spaniel puppy will eat anything, including caterpillars, so getting him to eat this was never going to be a trial. As such, he has eaten it and it has come out of the other end later in the day in a tolerably solid form. He's growing at an alarming rate, he's gaining muscle, his coat looks good, eyes are bright, plenty of woofs and wags in him and he's always full of beans. Consequently, I'm pretty sure he's thriving on it. My one reservation is the price compared to some of the other dry meals out there, but maybe the quality isn't as good. Fair enough 15kg of mix is going to last a long time, especially if supplemented by other treats like fresh chicken and fish, but I did wince a bit at the price. Then again, what price for a happy, healthy dog.

I'm very impressed at how long this bag has lasted! My Spaniels usually get through a couple of bags a week but this does seem to be lasting. It seems to be more substantial and filling than other cheaper brands so therefore despite it's price-tag you do end up saving in the long run with less purchases!it contains everything essential your dogs should need and more. I like that this is specially for puppies and young dogs therefore ensuring they are getting special nutrients they need to grow in healthy dogs.We hadn't tried this brand before but noticing how much shinier their coat is looking and seeing them actually full for once has make up my mind! This is highly recommended.I'll definitely be buying this from Amazon as it's much cheaper than Pets At Home who charge £55 a bag!

Grabbed this for my new rescue terrier Penny.Normally i feed her those meat trays you get and thought i would try this out on her.1st day i put it down she looked at me as if to say what the hell is that, but i just walked away and left her too it.30 seconds later she had demolished it, come up to me on the sofa, grabbed the sleeve of my cardigan and pulled me back towards the kitchen where she shoved her nose in the bowl and looked up at me with expectant eyes.Poor thing, i didnt give into her tho, but did the same thing at dinner time and she whoomped it down. She has now been on it twice a day for the last week and i have to say i am absolutely amazed at the difference in her.Very highlyrecommended..

It has to stated that my dog, precious though he is, is a very picky eater. He only likes certain foods, presented in a certain manner. I wish I could report that he yummed the dog food up but sadly not. However friends dogs thought they were lovely. Tasty and eaten eagerly. From a human perspective I was impressed, the poor delivery man was looking a tad peaky as he lugged the huge bag up to the front door. I think he prefers little packages. The bag was cleverly designed to have a zipper closure to stop the food from spilling out. I only wish they had included a graded measuring cup. At least greedy dogs are probably glad that you don't!Give this grub a go, but NOT if you have a picky, spoilt lurcher!
