I hate make-up. I usually wear a little blush and lipstick but now that I'm 40, I can't get away with being 100% bare faced anymore. I have tried tinted moisturizer and BB cream but they still felt too heavy, so it's money down the drain. The other day, I saw the spend $34.50 and get the free make-up kit so I thought I'd purchase the minimum to get it. After looking at every possible item, I settled on the primer. Although I was .50 off, they let me get the free make-up kit. Long story short, I love it! It comes out dark and thick but goes on smooth, velvety, and colorless. It evens out my skin tone, makes my eyes look less tired, and feels like I'm not wearing anything. For the first in my life,

What a pleasure to apply this smooth and silky New Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer! I have used other primers in the past, however, find this one to be very easy to apply evenly all over my face, without it getting cloggy or sticky. Hardly any fragrance, which I appreciated. I have used it over moisturiser and under various different types of foundations including mineral powder, also blending it with a little tinted moisturiser. I like the fact it does have a slight tint, as this helps even out the skin colour tone, hence aiding the longer lasting flawless finish. The amount required does vary depending on the type of foundation used, (in addition to a good skin care routine).

I am usually not a big fan of wearing foundation on my skin, and don't wear often, as I usually find it quite 'heavy' on top of my moisturiser. That being said, in winter I rely on foundation much more-and using this primer has made it such a pleasant experience! The primer really evened out my skin tone,and I was able to use a lot less foundation-in addition it lasted the entire day into the evening (Christmas! ) festivities-I didn't even have to touch up which is a win!i uses it mostly on its own however,and my skin felt soft and supple,it really feels amazing and it definitely evened up my skintone and closed up my pores. The only thing is that I do use slightly more than I would usually-which may mean you go through more product than usual.

I was quite surprised that it is slightly tinted, I expected it to be clear or cream coloured. So in actual fact, for me, when I have applied this, a light dusting of bronzing powder used to shape and define is enough without a foundation for daywear.It goes on nicely, and gives a lovely soft smooth feeling to the skin. It does indeed appear to even out the skin and reduce the fine lines to the naked eye.Used as a primer under foundation, it is advisable to give it a minute or two to dry and settle before applying foundation, otherwise I found that as I was smoothing the foundation on, little 'bits' were rubbing off. I was very sceptical about a primer being any different to all the others that I have used over the years, so I was coming at this from a rather hard angle. At first I thought it a rather odd colour and it might end up conflicting with my foundation, so reluctantly I smoothed it onto my face, and bang what an amazing texture, it makes your skin feel like velvet. I have never felt anything like it! The tint was lovely too and evened out my skin tone nicely and did not conflict with my foundation at all. Furthermore, I discovered that it has made my foundation and blush stay on so much longer, often not needing to be touched up. What a great product, well done Elizabeth Arden,

This Elizabeth Arden Primer gives a smooth appearance to skin, blurs skin imperfections and gives a good base for foundation.I’ve tried lots of primers and would say this is a good one.The product is easy to apply and you need less than a pea sized amount for the full face.It gives a matte appearance and instantly blurs all skin imperfections and fine lines – so ideal if you want a natural no make-up look.Foundation can be applied immediately on top and the Primer smooths pores and gives a good base for foundation meaning you use less product.This primer gives extra staying power to foundation and makes it last all day rather than sliding off mid way through the day.Good product would definitely

This primer is fabulous...It's so silky smooth..I'm 51...I don't have many wrinkles but my problem has always been oily skin...I would have to blot my face several times a day...Since using this primer, for a month now, I only have to blot maybe twice a day(that's only if it's really hot outside)..A friend of mine gave me a sample to use and have loved it ever since..In fact, I had tried it right before my sons wedding July 3rd and it kept my face looking fresh all day...This is a miracle to me..I also have very sensitive skin..I'm always afraid to put new things on my face...I haven't had any problems with this product..LOVE it and hope it never goes off the market!!

This was used by my partner, who it was bought for.Slightly strange (but ultimately good) thing about this primer; it is tinted.In practice, this means you need less foundation over it and often don't need foundation over it at all!It makes skin feel like silk and minimises pores and blotchy colouration. It is also comfortable to wear.Short review, but there is very little else to say; this is a very good product!Downsides?Its tinted, so is aimed at a particular skin colour. If you have dark skin, this may be an issue, especially given the product description does not make this clear.Overall though my partner loves it, so its a 5 star product from us!

I have used primers for many years but this Elizabeth Arden one is different as it is slightly tinted, almost like a tinted moisturiser. Easy to apply it glides smoothly over the surface of the skin and takes just a couple of minutes to set. You need far less foundation as this primer acts as a base and a little really does go a long way.What particularly impressed me is I have a age spot on the corner of my eye and this primer camoflages it as it is slightly tinted. After applying my regular foundation on top this is now hardly noticeable. Not a primer I would have thought to have bought but I will certainly rebuy and have no hesitation in recommending.

I have used Lancome's and Este' Lauder's primers and non of them compare to Elizabeth Arden's Flawless Start Primer. This primer is tinted, but it does not darken my ivory skin. A little goes a long way. I use moisturizers that can cause my skin to be shiny/slick and this primer mattes my skin to a "flawless" state. Sometimes I find that my skin looks so balanced and matte that I choose not to use a liquid foundation - but when I do use a liquid foundation the life of the foundation is lengthened by 2-3 hours because of this primer. Subtle fragrance that disappears in a moment. I am very thankful this was a sample gift in one of my purchases. Thank you!

The first thing you notice is how light and gentle the product is - it is like an invisible veil that glides over the face. I have used it on its own and noticed it has evened out skin tone, cancelled pores and hidden those light wrinkles. Under foundation it provides a great and even base. At the end of the day if I am going out a quick touch up with this and it gives it a fresh look without having to apply more foundation. It is now part of the daily make-up routine - cleanse, moisturize and prime. It is more gentler than other primers I have used and I intend to carry on using it. Thank you for letting me use it and I would recommend it to anyone.

I have been using instant perfecting primer only when I go out underneath a tinted moisturiser. The first time I used it I was going out with friends and one of the male friends commented on how young I looked and asked me what I had had done and I replied that I had been using this new primer and he said that it must be working ! I feel that you only need a small amount and it creates a silky base unto which you can then apply make up for a flawless finish. The skin looks flawless and luminous . I shall always have to buy this product in the future as I imagine that I will come to rely on it . I am glad that I did the trial. Thank you. Valerie

I've never really seen the need for a primer until now. This is a fabulous product. When it comes out of the tube it looks quite dark but on application it just seems to disappear leaving silky smooth skin to apply whatever foundation you use on to. I have tried it with liquid, cream and powder foundation and it extends the wear of all of these. I find that it minimises pores prior to foundation but also prevents the foundation disappearing in to the pores as the day goes on. It is not one of the cheaper primers but it is so worth the money and a little really does go a long way. Highly recommend this and you wont be disappointed.

This comes in a tube and `i was surprised when, on squeezing it, a quite heavily tinted cream came out. Very little was required and spread well with a brush. Although I was concerned it would be too dark i found that once spread it was fine. I have tried it with and without foundation in the interest of the review and I must say it looks good either way. I think I would use it without foundation for daytime use and use the foundation at night for a heavier coverage. I have not use Primer before but makeup certainly goes on better and looks better when this is used.I will certainly be using primer more often.

So far, after one week, this is the best primer I have ever purchased. It actually has a light color coverage and fills in pores for extremely even appearance. And it makes foundation last all day. I am 62 and have issues with blotchy sun damage and large pores. This product addresses both and frankly I'm relieved. Like everyone else, I am tired of spending money on products that don't really do the job. I have used Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Mousse Makeup since 1988 and this primer works effectively with it. They blend and last all day together. I add corrector and translucent powder.
