I usually go for a single malt, but a friend of mine who like's bourbon introduced me to Woodford Reserve bourbon.i was plesantly surprised.Having previously been used to harsh bourbon like Jim Bean and Jack Daniels, i thought all boubon's were the same. I decided to look for other bourbon's and found this at a independent wine shop near to where i live. I was intending to introduce my friend to it but, as yet has'nt been lucky enough to try it.It is smooth and lush and wonderfully warming. If you are looking for a good bourbon and don't know where to start, try this. The price should give you an indication of the quality of this product as appossed to say Jack Daniel;s etc.I can't find this bourbon anywhere where i live as the wine shop i got it from has shut down sadly, along with two others. I'll have to resort to buying online if i want another. This bourbon is well worth looking out for.

I loved this, it was first recommended to me from a friend in California, he loved it so much he gave me the money to buy this bottle, which I did of course :PFirst off let me just say I love the bottle, whiskey bottles have always been a favourite of mine, but this one is special and that wood cap with the cork, just perfect! The flavour though, it's really good, I'm usually not a fan of bourbon whiskey (Irish whiskey is my go to) but this one just does it better than Jack Daniels or Jim Beam EVER could, thats my personal opinion but once you try this whiskey, I'm sure you'll say the same thing ;)I highly recommend this whiskey, give it a shot, I know its pricey but trust me, its worth it.

I see a lot of reviews saying this bourbon is quite harsh - i understand this is totally subjective but as a person who drinks most of the popular brands out there i just don't find this harsh at all, and in fact find the taste a lovely creamy toffee flavour with a perfect subtle alcohol bite, i also like to add a tiny drop of Jim Beam black cherry to it with a bit of water as a sweeter longer drink - perfect :)This and Woodford Reserve are probably my favourites so far with Buffalo Trace a close runner up as a drink which is just so drinkable considering it's 40% proof.Yeah Elijah Craig is definitely one i would buy again !

*purely as i find it* this is an odd one! taken neat this is a harsh, strident firey spirit that takes no prisoners with a racy `burn` and a bit overpowering in truth. Add just a tiny tiny splash of water (i use mineral) and it smooths out at first sip, then rolls some warm spice across the tongue, then for me, the finish becomes long and bountiful, with fudge, cream and caramel which is surprising and welcome, and most enjoyable! i would give it a 5 but for the initial surprise of a scotch bonnet hit if you take it neat, i did not expect that from a 12 year old small batch, perhaps i am just naive..............

This is my favourite bourbon. Not necessarily the best one I’ve tasted, but in terms of doing what it says on the box, consistently, with class, and at an accessible price, The Preacher always delivers. It’s best-in-class at this price point and could easily hold its own against far more expensive bourbons. It does everything you need a bourbon to do: the initial vanilla kick from the virgin barrel, the stewed fruit and overripe cherry on the mid-palate, some spice from the rye content, and a gentle, oaky finish.

We have tried quite a few bourbons and we were looking for something new to try.We read some of the reviews and decided to give this a try.It is an excellent value for money.Compared to the more run of the mill or popular bourbons, this is, by far, a better and more complex drink. There is a sweetness in the middle that just about put me off it, but then the stronger tones and flavours take over and last. This is a very nice whiskey to enjoy, the flavour changes are a surprise at this price point.Great buy.

I really deserve more than 5 stars! I purchased the 12 yr Elijah Craig for my younger son and the 18 yr old for my eldest. It tasted wonderful and left me wishing for more! I am not a drinker of spirits but this is truly a wonderful bourbon. It rolls off the palate leaving various smokey hints and other flavours. I would thoroughly recommend this bourbon to the initiated and the newcomers to bourbon, they will thoroughly enjoy it! I love it! I think I will get a bottle for myself as well.

Elijah Craig 12yo is one of my fave Bourbons, even though it is double the price in the UK as what it costs in the USA. It has excellent depth of flavour and finish and is best served straight with just a little ice. I have tried many bourbons on both sides of the Atlantic at this price bracket and Eli Craig is one which I will keep coming back to because it is delicious

My husband first tried this bourbon in a whiskey shop innCambridge, he is a single malt guy so was reluctant to try bourbon. The owner offered a sample which he tried and loved. Its quite difficult to get hold of but makes a wonderful present for whiskey lovers. The bottle doesn't last long so limit drinking to you and only your best friends! Highly recommended.

very nice bourbon. In its price range its at the top. (£30 to £39 bottles) Id say its a draw between this and eagle rare. It is a lot nicer than makers 46, knob creek, Evan Williams Single Barrel, Four Roses Small Batch and so on. SO if its on offer defo get it. if not its still a great dram. I got it at £25 on one of the xmas deal of the days. Bargain :) :)

Delivered next working day. This must be the best bourbon under £50 I've tried. My first buy but for sure will become a regular. Has a bit of a kick considering it's 47% so I prefer it with a drop of water. It'a a treat to both nose and tongue. Perfect balanced bwteen spicy and sweet, with notes of oak, star anise and toffee.

Yet another fantastic bourbon. This one really goes well neat and with delicious dark chocolate to really enhance the flavours. On its own, you're tasting something so delicious its even on par with Woodford Reserve. This is worth the generous price range and should be something for you to consider trying.

I picked up a bottle when it was £25 and for that it's worth the money when compared to other bourbons in that price range like the 4 roses small batch. Not sure it's worth the RRP of nearer £40 as then the competition gets a bit stronger and I personally much prefer something like the excellent 1792.

Tasty bourbon. People are always saying how good this bourbon is for the money, so I wanted to give it a try. It is very good but perhaps not my favourite bourbon at this price. I think the wild turkey 101 is the best “budget bourbon” although this one is still great and I can see why it is so popular.

I love this bourbon - it's nectar. Forget others... this is special.Woodford? Good. Makers? Super. Wild Turkey? Fiery. Elijah? Perfect. Please note: Your bourbon journey may be different, but if you haven't tried this you must. But wait for an offer - closer to £30 is a good price.
