the discs do come off due to some very tough hardened mini hooks that seem to destroy cheap sanding discs, but i added a backing pad (£6) and the problem has gone, been running the sander a couple times a week for the past two months and the backing pad is still in place and it is sanding fine.dust box gets some but not all dust but a really good machine for the price once backing pad is attached.

This is a brilliant machine,does a great job,have used it everyday since it arrived. Leaves a wonderful finish.
