The European release of this game has been a long time coming, but thankfully its well worth it as it fixes a number of gripes players had with the US release - so you can disregard pretty much all the bad points in the other review ;)The game is basically an attempt at a 1st person survival horror on the DS, and it works very effectively. The horror aspect is akin to the great Silent Hill and provides a steady unnerving atmosphere with a few short sharp shocks for good measure. The actual gameplay itself is very much like the earlier 1st person shooters, such as the immortal Doom. Naturally, seeing as its on the DS, the controls aren't very complex and it means the combat is nice and simple "back to basics" kind of stuff. Its also just like in Doom 3 where you have a torch to guide you through the levels, but when you switch to a weapon then you unfortunately lose the torch - personally I didn't mind that but I know some people who hated it.The sound effects and music are also well worth mentioning because they are simply fantastic - some of the best I've ever heard on the DS. Together with the graphics they really help to create the whole spooky atmosphere of the game. The only real critisism I could throw at it would be its length. The game is short and once you complete it you might not go back again, at least not for a long time.Overall though I'd recommend it to anyone who loves their survival horror, and for once the European market has got the best version of a game!

I started playing 'Dementium 2' and didn't have a clue what was going on but I read it starts off where 'Dementium the ward' ends so I thought I'd give it a shot. so far so good, its creepy and easy to control (though I'm not a fan of the stylus and think it's the biggest let down on the DS there is, it doesn't take long to get used to with Dementium). The game starts with you waking up not knowing who or where you are, you pick up newpaper clippings and notices along the way revealing clues to your past along with an assortment of weapons. I particularly like the torch idea, it is what makes the game a horror survival and not just another 'shoot em up'.the graphics arn't great but the idea makes up for that and you'll soon get used to them. it'd probably be better suited to the PSP.

It was better than I expected to be. I still haven't completed although I am on the last chapter The Final Encounter. If I had to say something bad about it would be the graphics.
