Thought people with an Xbox 360 could have all the zombie action fun with Dead Rising? Well not any more because it has finally been ported to the Wii! Since playing most of Dead Rising on the Xbox I wondered how such a big game could be fitted on to something like the Wii, yes, they'll have to down grade a little and the control system could backfire, but would it turn out to be a hit? Well, it isn't as bad as some people make out actually. When I first started playing the game I knew that the graphics would be downgraded; it is the Wii after all. But it was quite impressive. Game play-wise it's extremely fun to be chopping at zombies left right and centre, I just couldn't stop.Use of the Wii remote was fun to use especially when riding bicycles through the hordes (or groups) of the undead or hitting them through the air with the bat. The screen text and mission outlay is far better than the Xbox version you can see all the words clearly and the timer doesn't get in the way so you have more freedom to blast, chop, maim and save the day. As for the people who complain about the voice acting being the worst they ever heard I say rubbish (go look on YouTube at Resident Evil Voice Acting Horror 10 mins, and then you'll see the worst)! It's not that bad but it still made me laugh from time to time at serious moments... almost like a Nicolas Cage film. That said it's not without its down points. My gripe with the graphics is that it seems they could have pushed the limits a little more (I'm sure the Wii's graphics are better than that if tested). The sound mix is a little tacky, as some of you have pointed out, distant zombies are a little bit loud at times when they shouldn't be. Though the game play is fun, Capcom have made the mistake of trying to centre Chop Till You Drop largely on the use of the gun control. While it's fun to be shooting zombies heads off it was even more fun (for the 360 players) to be picking everything in sight up and just going nuts with it. Here, you can still do that, but the mêlée actions seem a little stiff and less fluid, like swinging the guitars around 360 degrees or keeping a stack of weapons for when one breaks. The zombies are less threatening as they just seem to be standing around waiting before you get within a few inches of them before they make their move. The less said about those annoying birds the better.Anyhow, it seems that they HAVE made an effort with this, though they could have really pushed the game's graphics and sound to its best a little more, it is well worth buying and definitely fun to play again and again.

This game deserves so much more credit than it gets. Sure, there are problems, it can get annoying and a much better effort could have been made. But besides that, this is a fantastic game. If your looking for a long lasting experience that is a hell of a lot of fun then this is your game.Graphics 3/5: Quite bland. The wii is capable of much more than this. Some effects and textures look so incredibly out of place, the zombies look quite bad up close and the main characters seem to have the same effects on them wherever they are. (Sunshine on them, blood, dirt etc.) They're passable but i expected better.Audio 4/5: Some of the music is really good and its typical of what you'd expect from a zombie game. The music is atmospheric and tense, and contrasts perfectly with the happy go lucky elevator music in the non-zombie areas. the sound effects are good but sometimes seem out of place and coming from completly the wrong direction, and some effects such as the cliff zombie scratching his blades together are far too loud and direct. But overall quite good.Gameplay 5/5: Nothing beats chopping up zombies in a lawnmower while running around in a mega man outfit. Yes you've killed zombies before. But you havent killed zombies like dead rising yet. Whilst there isn't as huge a choice of weapons in the wii version as supposed to 360, this is compensated for by the huge selection of guns. For those of you who played resi 4, the weapons are completly identical to the ones on that. Pretty much anything can be picked up and used. Vases, bikes, skateboards, cardboard boxes, lead pipes, katanas, chainsaws, shopping carts and much more can be used to mow down hordes of the undead. The gamplay recieves its five stars because killing zombies with weapons like these is so fun and can keep you going for hours on end. A fantastic experience and extremely fun.Lasting appeal 4/5: The initial game lasts about 10 hours to complete without diverting from the storyline. Subsequent playthroughs last about 6-7 hours. Theres a hell of a lot to unlock including weapons and costumes. Its addictive coming back to unlock it all i must say. Theres also a host of mini games unlocked after completing the game which you can do and unlock more stuff for the campaign. So for quick bouts of zombie killing fun theyre pretty good.Overall a good quality game you should buy simply for the amazing gameplay. Zombie killing goodness for wii!

For me this was more fun than the Xbox version, as firstly you are given more than one save file, a problem with the Xbox version. Which was rectified in later Dead Rising games but which made the original Xbox game pretty hard. So the Wii version allows you to save many more times. The game mechanics are very much the same as resident evil 4. Meaning a better targeting syterm and a complete different and more fluid targeting mechanic than the Xbox version. The storyline is the same as the xbox one, but the game itself, understanding its limitations, goes for a quicker fun approach.Ammo is far less scarce. Its not as hard as the Xbox one and thus more fun to play.Faster pacing almost arcade inplacesSome interesting bosses from the original now in zombie form. There are downsides in comparisonNot as many side mission (some side missions are now main missions)The graphics aren't as vibrant. Not as many zombies on screen and not as responsive. You could say the getting rid of taking photographs in the Wii was a bad or good move depending on if you liked it in original. I didn't so this is what makes the game faster in pace. For a Wii game of Dead Rising it was great fun, and I actually enjoy playing this more than the Xbox one because you can just jump into the action. I actually really love this game and was shock by all the negativity towards it. It was a game made to have more fun with. I'm sure the makers said, we can't make this look a a good as the Xbox version but we can make it more fun to play.Lastly the blood in the Wii version looks more like ketchup and thus reminds me of Dawn of the Dead.

Finally the XBOX 360 Zombie horror classic makes it onto the Wii and although not quite as good as its Predecessor, its still a very enjoyable game.If i were to nitpick,i suppose one of the letdowns is that unlike the 360 version{where almost everything in the mall can be used as a weapon},the wii only allows certain items in the shops to be used.Another omission is the ability to take random photos of the zombies whilst in mid play.Although it doesnt really have a major impact on the gameplay, that was one of the features that made the 360 version such a popular title.Another Annoying aspect that a lot of other reviewers have picked up on is the inclusion of zombie poodles and grenade carryingparrots. These two "irritants" do nothing to enhance your gaming experience, indeed they are just incredibly pointless. However, the game does have its plus points too-firstly,the wii controls are tailored to a game like this and the nunchuk and wii remote make killing zombies so much easier.Frank west is really easy to control and the added bonus of using the same button combination for attack regardless of what weapon you choose makes the game so much easier.Second of all,the only problem with the 360 version was that there were just so many things to do in game that it was virtually impossible to save all the survivors, complete all the missions, bonus missions etc..the wii version has stripped the game down somewhat so it is actually possible to complete in its entireity. All in all,a superb translation of a Survival horror classic!

I've seen a lot of reviews comparing the Wii version to the Xbox version but very little reviews that look at the Wii version in its own right just for what it is.If you compare the two there are lots of major differences, in fact the only thing that remains the same is that you are stranded in a shoping centre with hundreds of zombies.Lets get to the point, the Wii version is great fun:Graphics - 8The graphics are great for a Wii game, so if you only have a Wii you won't be disapointed.Sound - 8The sound is great, I only have one complaint, sometimes the Zombie sounds are quite loud but there are no Zombies for a good 10 meters,I wish they would have adjusted the volumes better for distance as you end up thinking there is a Zombie just behind you.Gameplay - 9.5This is great fun, nothing beats shooting loads of Zombies, I'm halfway through and have already killed 5000 Zombies and thats not really trying just focusing on the missions.Just for the record some people have slagged this of because of the parots and dogs, there are not that many of them. For example once you have progressed a little in the main shopping centre you barely see them any more. And outside you see maybe one or two of each verses a lot of zombies.Anyway if you've got a Wii I would easily recommend this game.

This is one of the best games I have ever played, it had long gameplay and there was a variety of things you could do. The shooting was excellent, only thing you can only equip four guns at a time, it would have been nice to be able to equip 5 - 6 guns. The story was fantastic, graphics were really good, controls for driving, shooting and mele (the moving the Wii remote to hit was good), the controls where you have to shake the Wii remote to get a zombie off was good. Changing clothes and mixing food was fun. The premise was good, won't give too much away but love the way it criticised the goverment. (In real life the story would never be told). The ending was good until it was damaged a bit by adding too much. The music was really good (want a download of the soundtrack) especially in the end credits. It was excellent that there was no hint of romance between the two main characters, hate it when people have to put that in stories. Overall up there in my top five, Disaster Day of Crisis is also one of my favourites.

Excellent game. I played this game till the end - takes me around 10 hours. Graphic can be better, but taking into account, that it is WII game, the graphic is OK. I really like the story of Dead Rising. I can just recommend this game. I am now playing Resident Evil and I know, that lot of you will not agree with me, but I like more Dead Rising, then the Resident Evil (RE is also perfect game). I really recommend this game. The only bad thing about this game is, that there is no multiplayer

When I first considered buying this game I was dubious about it, overall it looked a good game, but the other user reviews did not paint a very good picture. However I decided to go ahead and am glad I did. Overall it is a fun and amusing game to play, the only downside is the repetivness of it at times and the way the character walks on screen....really annoying..... Mind you if you can see past this it is entertaining to play and well worth the risk.

A mall full of things to rob and kill zombies with...what else do you need? I'll tell you, a way to stop them rabid poodles keep jumping up your legs! I am enjoying the clothes changing ability, I am a little stuck though, I have a devils head mask on I can't seem to get shut off. This isn't for kiddies, rather gory and gratuitively violent. Just as a good grown ups game should be!

not your non stop action, uber responsive resident evil kinda zombie cull, so much a bit of a giggle, have fun interacting with the environment to find as many different silly ways to off the mumbling stumblers as you can, while getting dressed in silly outfits and messing around with shopping trollies, etc sort of game. certainly worth a mess about with.

11.3.2010

A lot of fun, although it does get a little repetitive at times towards the end. Certainly more enjoyable for me than the Resident Evil games. Very easy to get into, controls are good and the use of pretty near anything on the screen as a weapon is a delight. Nowhere near as gory as HOTD Overkill so it is suitable for younger teenagers as well as adults.

I couldn`t believe there was a wii version of this game. I was sure I`d never get to play it. I quickly ordered it from amazon and it quickly arrived. Nice cheap price (used). It plays OK with the Wii`s quirky controllers and it`s only slightly changed from the xbox version.

I really trully enjoyed this game, the story was great, the small missions were great an so much zombie action. One of the best zombie killing fun games I ever played. HIGHLY RECOMENED!!My favourite weapon had to be the Football... it was just too funny.

I have played Dead Rising for Xbox 360 and now I'm playing Dead Rising Chop Till You Drop for the WII. I can't say which version I prefer because I like them both. I love all the Capcom games I have played.
