I use this with a Gopro for sticking in the water over the sides of motorboats. Quick release buckles allow easy and swift extension. Pivot head decent, occasionally I think I have it tight and then it moves a bit - though I try not to over tighten it.Pivot head and tightening screw beginning to rust a bit as I use it in saltwater, but I expect it to last quite a while. Water doesn't drain freely out of the poles, sliding poles in and out squeezes out some but I think a bit always remains - again it's not really meant for water work. Overall very pleased.
