As others have said, or implied, this does exactly as described. Several have said they find it a useful substitute in awkward situations rather than it being a substitute for a tripod in studio work. Let's face it, how many of us actually work in a studio ? I would suggest that most amateurs shoot 'snaps' in the field rather than studios ie places where tripods are usually inconvenient to use. Like most gadgets, a little practice is advised before serious use but I'm sure many will agree a) it works, b) it takes up so little space in a camera bag and c) there are far fewer accidents with the pointed end !

I have carried out tests of my own and find that outdoors with an unstabilized camera it makes a slight difference when you`re down to a 30th of a second, and would be more obvious in lower speeds and inclement weather. So I reckon it`s worth carrying with you.To the reviewer who slated it for being made of plastic, I would ask if it was metal and heavier would you take it with you when a DSLR and lenses, for example, was already on the heavy side ?.As to how robust it is... It`s ok at the moment and I have already used it a number of times.

This product does exactly as advertised. It won't ever replace a tripod in studio situations but then it's not meant to. I have used it on country walks and have been very pleased with it's performance. When attached to smaller cameras it also gives something more substantial to hold onto. Overall, for the price, it's a useful piece of kit to have. The only negative point is that it is rather cheaply built of plastic (the pictures may make you believe that it is of sturdier metal construction).

I purchased this item because I take alot of pictures where taking a tripod isn't an option, This item arrived fast and upon arrival from the start it was a godsend, If you need a way of stabalizing images but don't or can't carry a tripod then you need this in your life, I fly alot and it's great because it fits in the camera bag.+1. Well made2. Helps alot when in limited space etcI would recommend this item for anyone who has a camera and wants good images

This is perfect for those occasions when using a tripod is impossible - concerts, gigs, events - indeed anywhere that people can trip over your tripod! Consider public liability insurance costs! So this is in my kit for gigs, events and when out walking. No more heavy tripod on my shoulder if I see a great landscape. I simply pull it down and steady my camera (and myself!) and take my sharp shots.A must have piece of kit.

This is a well made gadget, although it is no susitute for a proper Tripod. It fits nicely in your pocket or camera bag and is very usefull where you cant take a Tripod with you. I have used mine for taking Panorama shots with good results. All in all a handy adition to your camera gear.

Saw one of these whilst on holiday, being used by another photographer. Simple to use and in the right circumstances, very effective.

What a great yet simple idea, works a treat, keeps the camera steady and save me carrying a monopod, and was received in good time.

Good but quite easy to break if used to roughly
