I bought this mini-tripod to use with my Cannon G7X Mark II, Sony RX100 V and my GoPro Hero 5. First impressions were that it was a solid sturdy build and design. It felt heavy enough to suggest that it wouldn't break easily, whilst still being very light and portable. Mounting the camera/GoPro was straight forward and took seconds, as it was a case of simply just screwing the devices onto the mount. It's ergonomic grip when all of the legs were together allowed me to vlog for long periods of time without any discomfort. There's grip at the bottom of each of the legs, making the mini-tripod adhere better to whatever surface it's left on.The product has 2 different leg angles for ground shooting.I found this to be excellent. The legs themselves have have a further 5 levels of adjustable heights which are very useful. It's worth mentioning that the height difference from the lowest setting to the highest setting doesn't differ greatly. However as it is a mini-tripod, it's to be expected. If you were looking for something with greater varying heights, I would suggest looking at full size tripods instead. The legs unfortunately are either fully opened or together. There is no mechanism for the legs to be opened slightly (in a safe manner). This is a shame as it would help with the height dilemma previously expressed. Please see the attached photos to get a visual idea of what has been described.Summary:Pros:- very sturdy build and design (has withstood over a dozen drops and falls)- very portable (can easily fit inside a small bag and possible a coat pocket)- various adjustable heights (although height difference from max to min small)- ergonomic grip (allowing it to be held for long periods of time without discomfort)- aluminium ball head allows you to adjust the camera very easilyCons:- height difference isn't great- legs are either open or shut (no middle ranges to adjust height)Overall, I would say this a great product. It's in the middle price-range when compared to other competitors. It's great for those who are looking for a tripod that is small, very portable and light, whilst still having that sturdy feel to the product. It's perfect for those wanting something to stabilise their camera and in my opinion is better than the gorilla-pods in this aspect as you don't need to faff around trying to straighten out the legs. It's great for taking low level images and providing the mini-tripod is on a taller object e.g. a desk, it is wonderful to use for videoing. Having used it for almost two months, I have no real complaints with the item.Would recommend this product to anyone that wants something portable to carry around everywhere from their day-to-day lives to their holidays!!

This little guy was perfect for my travelling needs. It's all very well going all in and taking your full size luggage space stealing attention grabbing tripod with you abroad, but honestly, if you're going on a proper holiday and just need to be able to mount your camera to catch a sunset, or even take an "old school" family selfie, then this will do the job.Attaching the tripod to your camera can be done in a matter of seconds and when on, the camera does feel secure and stable (The latter is because the legs spread very wide when deployed and even extend somewhat!). That little red knob you see in the picture tightens and loosens the head, allowing you to get your frame reasonably level,or even swing the camera on its side for a portrait shot. There's also a little switch on the other side from the red knob that lets you increase and decrease the angle of the legs (the 2 options are pictured). It does need to be said that unless your screen swivels, you might find yourself getting down into some awkward positions to compose, but you're supposed to be a photographer, so deal with it.In terms of height off the ground, there are basically 3 options from floor to the top of the head:legs fully extended, leg angle limited (full height): 8 incheslegs retracted, leg angle limited: 6.5 inchesleg angle increased: 4.5 inchesNow, I've given this 5 stars, but that's because I was using my little D3400 and a kit lens. I watched videos of people mounting larger kits, like the D7200 with more substantial lenses and it was clear to me that this tripod probably can't guarantee satisfying operation at those weights, so bear that in mind.Other than that, I can recommend this to anyone wanting a compact solution to mounting their (smallish) camera on something steady and nonintrusive while abroad.

To cut to the chase, I needed a mini tripod for travel that will support the weight of a Canon EOS 6D Mk II with at least a 24-105mm lens. Looking at the reviews and product info out there it wasn't clear wether or not it could do this comfortably. I bought this, and I bought an Arca Swiss adapter from Neewer (for use with an L bracket which I would recommend) and I've tested it out and it supports the weight of my 6D Mk II with the 24-105mm, fully extended to 105mm, quite comfortably even when titled downwards (though you have to angle or extend the legs in your favour). I've tested it with the camera landscape and portrait with the L bracket and it holds it well securely. The adapter I have is fairly heavy so if I were to remove this you could probably hold a heavier camera but you then wouldn't be able to use the L bracket. 2.5kg is the safety load. The standard Manfrotto Pixi has a ball head that is released with a button so, even though the legs can support the weight of the above set up, the ball head will immediately slip downwards. This Pixi Evo has a screw in ball head which means it's much more secure and can support the 6D Mk II with little to no creep. Why have I given it four stars instead of five then? The materials and different sections rattle slightly and it actual feels less weight built than the standard Pixi (which I also have). Design wise it's a big improvement on it's predecessor but the construction has dipped.Update: Having taken this out recently, and adding to the above about the materials, this tripod does not perform well in windy conditions. If you try a long exposure in slightly windy conditions you will get a shaky image.

If you're after a quality tripod which you can use in table top situations or for when you're lying down then this is the tripod to get. It's a well engineered item with extendable legs and a ball head which makes it incredible versatile. The two things I particularly like about this item is the horizontal wheel which you can use to tighten or release the 0.25" thread mounting screw (something which Manfrotto should make standard across their range now I've had a chance to try it) and the fact you can also put the device you're mounting in portrait mode easily with the ball socket. The two features which make it stand out in it's class (for me)is the fact it can take a 2.5kg load - far more than other tripods in this class - and it has an ultra low mode of 10.5cm.In situations where space is at a premium then this device is the one to get, however there is another possibility - which if you may need a larger tripod in future, will mean you can "futureproof" yourself. Manfrotto's BeFree carbon tripod has the ability to mount the central stem BENEATH the tripod legs, so although your device will essentially be upside down, if you have a spotting scope etc which you can turn right angles, it will allow you to get as low as this device for the cost of a single item - but the downside being that the Manfrotto BeFree carbon weighs 1.4kg with head - this weighs 260g.The only downside for me on this item is that it doesn't come with a case - and you can't buy one either - none is available on Manfrotto's website:( Otherwise a brilliant little item which can also double as a selfie stick.

Manfrotto PIXI EVO 2-Section Mini Tripod - BlackFirstly, I received the mini tripod safely and promptly. I was always on the lookout for a mini tripod for one reason, How many times have you just decided to do maybe a few street photography photos or even a few snap shots of the family and hadn’t intended to bring the main tripod, when all of a sudden you see a lovely Landscape Image you could have had with a Long Exposure or even a Macro shot. The only problem is that most of the mini tripods couldn’t even carry the weight of a DSLR and a decent size lens. I have found one at last.I love to take images low to the ground with long exposures especially on stones with water nearby to give that3D effect “you know what I mean”.Now For The Weight Facts.Nikon D810 DSLR = 980g “ 2lb 2.6oz”Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip “300g”Also RRS L-BracketTamron 15-30mm Wide Angle Lens “1.1kg”Also 2 batteries WeightNow all of the above was supported by this little tripod with 2 different leg angles, “lowest being the more stable”. I will be honest, this is one of my heaviest lenses apart from the 70-200 which I wouldn’t use, you also must make sure that things are tight but not to the point of breaking. I would easily use the above weights on the mini tripod if I was caught without the big tripod and this is great for just throwing in the bag. So this makes the 24-70mm a no brainer to use.I hope this review helps you make up your mind in this product but even if you never use it, it’s still one of those items “that’s its better to have than not”.

I had a ball'n'socket style mini tripod which I used to take on holidays and excursions (climbing, hiking etc) but I never really liked using it because it wasn't strudy enough. A friend had one of these PIXI EVO 2 tripods and as soon as I had tried it I had to buy one. It's perfect for the mirrorless APS-C sized cameras (I use mine with Fuji X100S and Sony A6500 with 17-40 lens) and it's also ideal for smaller cameras like my Sony RX100M3. I wouldn't go mounting a full frame DSLR on there, I tried with my Canon 5DMarkIII with a 24-70 but it's too heavy and unbalanced. If you like vlogging (not my thing)it is quite useful as a handle for the selfie mode on the RX100M3 and the ball head means you can get the perfect angle and lock it in place. The ball head is very very good unlike the one I had on the gorillapod this has replaced. It's a much more solid construction and locks tightly into place. The little switch on the side allows you to choose between wide leg and ultra wide leg mode and the legs themselves extend out to (from memory) three different lenghts. All this means that you can use this on the most uneven off ground and still get it level and solid.Very light and small when collapsed, easily slips into a camera bag of side pocket on a rucksack.

Firstly, a thank you to Amazon Prime. I had ordered this for next day delivery and they duly attempted to deliver the item. I wasn't in, so they sent a message to say there were unable to deliver and would try again on the next working day. Not impressed with this as I had previously given them instructions on where to leave any deliveries if I was out. Got home and found their 'failed to deliver' card they originally left me.Less than an hour later, there was a delivery guy with my package knocking on my door. Seems my house was on the route back to his base so he thought he'd try to see if I were back. So, I am a very happy Amazon customer with the item I ordered, delivered for Christmas, result!I bought the original Manfrotto Pixi which was great, but I couldn't use the stand in portrait mode, just landscape which was a real bind at times. So I decided to but the PIXI EVO instead and wow, its perfect for all my smartphone photography needs. Its very stable, has the option to extend the legs thereby raising the height of the tripod too, or conversely you can click the small button the the ball head and this lets the legs spread out wider thereby lowering the head even more, great for macro work.

I'll try not to make this review uber long; I'll start of by saying, I REALLY like the Manfrotto PIXI EVO 2-Section Mini Tripod. Before purchase I did my research as the tripod I required had to be perfect due to where I would be using it. I watch YT videos, I read reports and I scoured the internet to gauge peoples opinions. The bottom line, this Manfrotto PIXI EVO 2-Section Mini Tripod works, plain and simple. I found it is more than capable of supporting a Nikon D8** camera with grip and a rather heavy 2.8 Sigma lens. Lots of glass and elements within the Sigma lens and no tripod collar to help either. On a stable platform, the camera and lens combo did not move. The ball head when wound down does not budge. The legs when splayed and extended work a treat.Overall, I have complete faith in this little tripod. I'm happy to take it on my travels as I feel the build quality is right up there and as long as I do not lose it, it'll last a few years of hard usage.

I nearly didn't buy this tripod...even though I have never had an issue with Manfrotto tripods before because of the negative comments about the locking of the ball head. All I can say is these reviews have received faulty units...As my images show I tried the head lock on some heavy Nikons and lenses and it held rock solid...the F2 and telephoto ways in just shy of 2kg and I felt sure I could have gone higher!Maybe the QC has become a bit iffy as these units are made in China for Manfrotto but I read an article where the lock tension can be adjusted by removing the legs to expose the ball tension setting screws below.I was also suitably impressed by the use of mixed materials with the legsoperating beautifully....including the handy low angle height mode. All in all this is a magnificent tripod...and iff you get a duff one either adjust it or simply return for one that has been set up perfectly...fortunately mine was....

It's funny that Manfrotto should call this mini-tripod the Pixi Evo; the smaller Pixi looks just like Eva from Pixar's "Wall-E"! The little Pixi is great for Travel Zooms but too light for my GH4 with a zoom attached. The Pixi Evo has the answer. When folded the Pixi Evo is just 2 cm longer; however when opened and in low-mode it covers 32cm compared to the 17cm of the smaller Pixi. This is more than enough to support my GH4. It also allows for Portrait mode which the Pixi can't do. There is also a switch on the sphere that allows the legs to be spread even wider (Low-mode). My only gripe is the thumb screw that tightens the ball is a triangle with rounded sides: It looks good but fails tooffer good grip when tightening hence -1 star.

yes this is now officially tried and tested by me having taken it on a long trek to central america and also managed to do some decent astro with it - the photos come out clear and the tripod manages to support my Nikon D7200 plus zoom 200m lens which is pretty heavy - I would say that this lens is about the most you want to try on this tripod as I doubt it would take a great deal more but hey it saves me lugging a massive 10kg tripod around when I am climbing a mountain or travelling long distances do it's greatworth the money for what it gives you in return . at first it doesn't give the impression of being particularly sturdy but once in use it is decent you just need to use the legs at maxlength to get that stability you want

This little hero of a stand/tripod has performed really well for me so far.Extremely sturdy and versatile and when locked into position, its a perfect work platform for your camera.Having used it for a couple of weeks, I honestly can not find a fault with it.The adjustable legs are very smooth when adjusting into position and lock well when set.The stand is both light weight and portable. If i was to try and pinpoint one thing it was missing and be super critical.....I would say a travel bag would have been a super nice touch but that said its a superb, well made bit of kit and i would not mark it down 1 star because of this.Honestly if you are looking for a compact sturdy stand then this oneis for you. Many thanks

This is the first tripod i have ever bought. I thought i would go for a well known brand because I didn't want to risk my camera falling over or off.I holds my Canon EOS 700D without any problems.-You'll be able to easily attach the camera to this thanks to the design of the pin (it's attatched to a disc so you just turn that to tighten to camera).-There is a little switch to completely flatten the legs so it is basically against the surface.-A little dial on the front so you can adjust the angle of the camera.-Each leg has an individual button with five positions you can adjust the leg to.-This can be used as a vlogging stick if that's what you are into,All in all i am extremely pleased withthis product.

First things - this is a sturdy little tripod and I love the screw mount mechanism. The ball joint is a proper design and doesn't decide to drop over at a random time. The features which are well below Manfrotto standards are the extra low angle setting is applied to all 3 legs and not independently. #also I would have hoped for a sprung mechanism rather than a slide. I also think there could have been two settings - one to set the legs 'taller' ie not so splayed as the 'standard' setting. Such a feature could have been added by a small tongue at the top of the sliding leg extenders projecting underneath the height selecting ring. That would then be a per leg setting.

Bought this to replace my gorilla pod which was not really suitable for my Sony A7iii because I originally bought it for an NEX 5N. First impressions are positive but I have not tried it out in the field. Just hope it doesn’t shake from the shutter movement. A bit plasticky and the ball head thumb screw does not give me 100% confidence on first pass but will give it the benefit of the doubt for the time being. Certainly better than my gorilla pod which drove me nuts because it’s virtually impossible to get the legs straight. This mini tripod does not suffer from that problem and the adjustable legs definitely offer a lot of flexibility. Looks the part at least.
