Cokin 49mm TH0.75 AD. A449(A257)This is simply an adaptor ring to allow a Cokin “A” filter holder to fit onto the front of a 49mm threaded lens. There are others in the series for 46mm, 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, 62mm and some larger sizes to fit on interchangeable lenses on DSLR’s and some camcorders.Back in the days of 35mm and larger format film cameras ( before digital cameras with internal filter effects and software capable of manipulating digital images ) , photographers used individual “ screw on” filters to create effects on black and white and colour film . Each lens had to have a filter of an appropriate diameter/thread size .These tended to be expensive . A system ( in this case by Cokin)was created whereby flat , square , effects filters could be slotted into a holder which could be attached to any lens by an appropriate sized adaptor ring. There were/are two series of Cokin Filter holders – an “A” and a “P” series .The “A” series tended to be for amateurs and simple 35mm cameras and a (larger) “P” version was for professionals with 35mm and larger format cameras/larger lens diameters. Whereas most digital cameras /software can recreate these effects , it is worthwhile looking again at using coloured/graduated /star and other filters on video. As, sometime in the last 30 years, I have mislaid the 49mm adaptor ring , this was simply a replacement to enable possible work with a Panasonic HC X920 camcorder ( the SD700 takes a 46mm adaptor ring) .I may also revisit using the grey and tobacco grad filters on the Nikon D3100. ND filters can also help camcorders to avoid the problems of too great a depth of field or to force a DSLR to use an extremely slow shutter speed. So , a lost unit replaced promptly at a reasonable price – works well – as previously. Simples – rate 5 star

I found over 50 Cokin filters I'd not used for years or since I went digital. I thought I'd make some use of them the only things stopping me was no 58mm ring. Took me some time to get one because these filter are before the Cokin "P" range was made. This cost me 80% less than the Colkin one would have done, it is metal and does the job and gave me an 80% saving.GOOD RESULT.

Perfect, it works, quality is good. The unit is nicely packaged and was delivered on time.Once you are onto the size of lens this fits then you have to expect some vignetting.Really should move up to a larger filter system. I can't knock off points for this because I would only complain if it wasn't available!

My old Cokin filters must be at least 25 years old, but thanks to this 52mm ring they are seeing new life with my shiny new OM-D and its kit lens the 12mm to 50mm.Delivered very, very quickly and it does exactly what it's supposed to do, makes me very happy.Thank you.

What can you say, its an adaptor and it is for the Cokin A system. It does what it says on the tin. I marked it down because I had to return it as it was not fit for purpose a Lumix FZ38, more information on that review.

With Cokin you can really be creative. yes, it's invented before the cameras got a lot of "toys" build in the programs - and eventhough I have a camera filled with "toys" I love my Cokin

Cokin are a household name in photography for value for money and i’m Pleased with my purchase as Lee etc are great filter systems but hugely expensive for an amateur like myself

This ring can screw on the Canon conversion lens adapter for the G9 camera and enables you to use all the Cokin filters with that camera. Therefore, it is very useful indeed.

This allowed me to use my old filters with my new camera Nikon D5100. This had a 52mm thread to attach to the lens which allows the holder for the filters to be attached.

Just what I wanted to allow me to use my filters again after a gap of about 25 years. Good price, well packaged, delivered quickly. Thanks

There's not much to say about this - its an official cokin adapter ring for 46mm thread and there square filter holder. Does the job!

Just what I needed to replace an old one that didn't fit the lens on my new camera. Well made - metal, not cheap plastic

I've just purchased a new dslr, this has allowed me to use some cokin filters from 30 years ago off an old camera
