The Cocoon deserves 4.5 stars, but I'm optimistic about future development. The few concerns/negatives I have are as follows:-When everything is OK and the device is disarmed, the LED ring glows green with medium brightness. As I have my Cocoon in the bedroom I sleep in, I wish I could disable the LED status when everything is OK, or at least during certain periods of the day.-The device gets very warm with the IR LEDs illuminated (which is most of the time as mine is located in a dark room). I'm worried the heat sinking and dissipation isn't adequate and will affect the lifetime of the product, but I'm assuming it's been sufficiently tested for durability prior to release.-I am only interested in monitoring the activity in my one room.As the device often triggers from loud noises in other areas of the house, I am pushed notifications of activity regularly which are not genuine causes for concern. When new, I received 2-4 false positive notifications each day for the first week. At week 2, this is down to 0-1 false positives per day. The app only allows for either sounding the alarm or approving the activity detected. Therefore, I'm a little worried that the device will incorrectly learn to not trigger on certain activity that I would otherwise be interested in being notified of. The designers don't share much in the way of the learning algorithm used, so it is not clear if or how the owner inputs influence the behavior and sensitivity of the device.-The app is quite limited, which is fine for now. If I were to change residence, I don't know how I'd reset the learning of the device to accommodate the new address. Perhaps the location is known by the device (based on IP address) and therefore would automatically reset the learned data set upon changing a location.I don't have a lot to add beyond what's been said in prior reviews. The build quality is very nice, as is the attention to detail. It's not an ugly device and wouldn't look out of place in a room with quality decor. I opted for the white and am pleased. It took two attempts to initially connect to my phone and wifi network, but it's been robust since. I do see the device changing the LED status periodically, so I know it's getting regular updates. The app also seems to get updated regularly as well, which is rather assuring considering the infancy of the company. The geofencing (arming and disarming depending on my mobile phone's location) works very well and needs absolutely no user intervention to arm/disarm manually. The app nicely sorts activity records. The streaming functionality is generally very good; the resolution is decreased to accommodate limited bandwidth. If my mobile phone does not have data when activity is detected, video footage is saved on the cloud approximately 30 seconds before and 9 minutes (+/- 2 minutes) after the event. I can then review it once I again have mobile data. This function, coupled with the organization of prior notifications and video clips, makes the app very good to use. I have not yet found a limit on the quantity of videos stored on the Cocoon servers, which I expect will eventually have to change. For now, it's very good. There is a 30 second delay during live viewing, but zero latency is obviously not possible (though this could potentially be reduced). One last point - I was originally concerned with privacy when the device is disarmed as it is located in my bedroom. If ambient lighting is insufficient, the IR LEDs illuminate when the device is armed for proper exposure in low light. As soon as the device is disarmed, the IR LEDs turn off, leading me to believe video data is not sampled when disarmed, which is rather comforting. The hardware and base functionality of the device do lead a potential buyer to find it overpriced. After all, it's just a wifi-enabled webcam with some IR LEDs - an easy DIY weekend project for a tech enthusiast for a few quid. However, the design, build quality, testing, cloud storage, app development, and learning algorithm are what make this product greatly superior to lesser alternatives. As such, I highly recommend the Cocoon.

Dear cocoon makers, I do really like this, zero regrets about my purchase, but would suggest that more screen space is allocated to the cctv picture than the tick / siren. I think picture could be about 75% bigger. Also could the buffering happen slightly less often so that a longer spell of clear viewing is possible. Hoping this is useful feedback!

Awesome piece of tech, was set up in minutes (and i'm as far from a techie as you can get) and the app is really straightforward to use.
