Yes, there are many cheaper cutters out there but I purchased these to replace an existing pair. The existing cutter had lasted for decades until I inadvertently cut through a power cable (accidents do happen) and so, I decided to purchase quality as I know these will last. When purchasing tools that you use almost every day don't buy cheap, as cheap doesn't last and you spend more money purchasing multiple cheap tools.

These are not for piano wires, thats why the other guy is so unhappy, they hold their edge forever on electonic wires something piano cutters cannot do they are so brittle the edges dont last long.
