This full-swing coat allows full-range of shoulder/arm/elbow motion which is colorfully described within the visual of swinging an axe. The 100 percent cotton shell is heavy duty cotton duck cloth/canvas with a soft pinwale corduroy collar. The back of the collar has half of a metal snap which could be attached to a separately obtained hood—to be clear no hood is included. The in-house male wears a large coat and this one in that size is generously sized so there is plenty of room to fit over layers of other clothing like a thick shirt, sweater, etc.Everything about this coat is substantial and weighs over 4 pounds. It is fully lined with the body utilizing a soft thick tightly woven 100 percent polyester fleece and areas of the cotton shell material on the interior pockets. The sleeves are lined with a satin-like quilted 100 percent nylon material so it slides over arms easily. The garment utilizes sturdy materials like heavy-duty metal zippers both in as the main closure along with a 6 inch vertical welt pocket on the upper left chest. That pocket is approximately 6 by 8 inches and should hold almost any phone, wallet, etc. Two pouch-like pockets located on either side of the main zipper are sized to accommodate gloved hands. The opening is 6 inches measure approximately 7 by 8 inches. An interior angled pocket on the lower left side uses a 6 inch nylon zipper and measures approximately 5 by 6 inches. There is also an interior pocket on the upper right chest that measures 5 1/2 by 6 1/2 inches and uses a hook and loop (Velcro) closure.Other features include a loop at the inside collar seam so the jacket can be draped over a hook and drawstring adjustment on both sides of the interior lower edge with a locking toggle to secure the setting. The fabric care instructions are to machine wash cold with like colors, do not use bleach, tumble dry low and remove promptly. A low heat iron may be used on the exterior shell, if desired. Solid quality--warm, sturdy and handsome.

Don't let the picture deceive you, this is a hard-working jacket. It is made of thick cotton duck with insulated lining. This will be great for any late fall days even into winter with layers underneath. This jacket prepares you for anything you need to do outside. It's got a ripcord around the bottom and inside of the sleeve you'll find another fitted cuff to keep the weather out. There is an extra gusset under the arms so as not to constrict any movement. All in all this jacket keeps the weather out and let's you handle what you need to go outside.while it does so many different things it comes at a price as this is a heavy jacket. A duck will help keep you weatherproof but it's not like wearing a ski jacket. It is a true Carhartt work jacket. You have two pockets on the outside and on the inside you'll find one zipper pocket and a velcro pocket. They're deep enough to keep your cell phone or wallet or most anything of that size. The zippers on this jacket are heavy and large metal zippers so they are easy to close when you have gloves on. This is definitely one to live in and my son loves it. He can't wait for cooler weather to roll in so he can wear this. He is 5 foot 11 inches and weighs 150 lb. He's very lean with a broader shoulders and athletic body. This coat fits him well but it is a little large.

I absolutely love Carhartt products because they are quality, rugged, and last a long time. This jacket appears to adhere to the same high standard I have come to love. Yes, I know this is a men's jacket but I ordered it for me because I like the roomy feel men's jackets provide.FEATURES of this ZIPPERED FRONT JACKET:- Corduroy-trimmed collar with snaps that I assume could be used with a removable hood (but I am not sure)- Fleece lining- Zippered left vest side pocket- Two roomy side pockets at waist level- One inside Velcro square pocket (suitable for a smartphone) on interior right side- One zippered vest pocket on interior left side- Gusseted in the armpits for good range of motion- Adjustableclosure; meaning bungee cord cinch for waist for a more tapered look and to keep the cold out- Internal rib-knit cuffs to keep the cold out- Apparently machine washable but since the jacket is heavy, I doubt all washers could handle this. This is made in India and the shell is 100% Cotton. The one negative of this jacket is that it easily shows pet hair. I have three cats and their hair is like a magnet to this material. Nevertheless, this is high quality and I love the pockets, warmth, and ability to move freely in this jacket.

My husband was absolutely overjoyed with this jacket. If I let him, he would crank up the air conditioning all summer long just so he could wear it inside the house. And he's NOT a big clothes guy, either- he just likes how functional and well-made the jacket is.As far as sizing: my husband is 5'11" and 250 pounds (extra long torso) and the extra large size fit him well. It's roomy and comfortable but not so roomy that it balloons out around him and prevents him from moving freely. Howeever, there's enough room for two layers of clothing underneath the jacket. The stock image of the jacket on the model is NOT what the jacket is like in real life. It's not some cropped,slim-fit jacket- it's styled like an overshirt and is made so when you reach your arms over your head, the jacket does not ride up over your waist. This jacket is perfect for working outside or in the workshop when it gets cold out. It will keep your warm but not inhibit movement. It's also made to last.Needless to say, my husband highly recommends this jacket. This is the kind of thing that he'll be wearing for decades (literally), or until he wears it out. It's timeless, comfortable, functional, and looks good.

When the late fall winds finish blowing the leaves off and dew turns to frost, this is the jacket I'll be pulling out of the closet for yard work. Should I need to take my maul out split some wood, it will be extra appropriate.I was a sent a large, and as I'm a medium (at best) these days, this Is expectedly big for me. Still once I stuff a sweatshirt underneath, as was typical when growing up in northern Minnesota, it should be about right. This is promoted as having very good arm freedom, and I'd agree, there is no binding when swinging your arms about. I might just get the maul out for fun.Construction is rough, but deliberately so. Stitching seems well done. Materials are durable looking and task appropriate. There are utility pockets inside and out, so I'll be able to slip my cell phone into a zippered pocket at chest level, and figure out what to fill the other pockets are for. There's an elastic cord on either side, which I guess is for adjusting the gap along the hips, but it doesn't appear to be effective. Cuffs are elastic and firm without binding; and inside the outer sleeve to avoid wear and debris. Generally, a well thought out garment.

Repeat Buyer! My teen son owns a Carhartt jacket that he uses for his Fall and Winter landscaping. He typically wears a men's large in outerwear, but in Carhartt he wears a medium. For comparison purposes, he wears a men's large in shirts and outerwear in Under Armour and Spyder and a size 31x32 in jeans. We have found that the Carharrt brand definitely runs larger. This Carhartt Full Swing Armstrong jacket is no exception. I ordered a medium and it fit him perfectly! He loves that it is black and has a bit longer "tail" in the back. Although in the stock photo, it looks like it is the same length all the way around, it isn't. It's designed like a shirttail in the back. So,no more cold drifts when you lift your arms up or move around! Another huge plus is the bungee cords to tighten the waist. It helps keep him warm! I happen to love the knit cuff inside the sleeve. All of these things help keep your outdoorsman warmer and comfortable! Roomy and with lots of give. They can keep active and adjust their jacket to fit as needed. As always, Carhartt is a trusted brand for quality and comfort.

This jacket is very nice! I have looked for it for a while now and wasn’t sure about the slight new design/construction compared to the older Armstrong model. The advertising pictures on amazon make the jacket look more like a trendy light coat that wouldn’t last and It was almost a deterrent for me to pull the trigger (i work in my gear). Also some reviews about sizing worried me a bit, it all says it runs a bit big so i ordered a medium regular. I am 5’10”, 36-30 pant size and roughly 200-210 pounds. I am stocky with no major gut but i like beer and food. The jacket is perfect for my size, if i put a hoodie underneath it’s a bit more fitted but will most likely stretch with wear.A large would’ve been too big in my opinion but if you like a bit more room go for a large. As for durability it should do the job for me. I would say it’s a medium to heavy duty coat with perfect temperature control, not too warm or cold, just right for working. I Would probably not wear in extreme cold but it’s good enough for Calgary winters with working in and out of buildings. Hope this helps!

This is a heavy duty, comfortable, work jacket. It's high quality material and craftsmanship. I've used to to stay warm and dry while getting firewood ready for the winter. Rain and 30 degrees was no match for this thing! And it looks great too. The biggest issue is the zipper feels cheap compared to the rest of the design... it can be a little hard to attach and just feels/sounds off... like it's going to be an issue as time goes on.** Update: I've been using this for a while now and it's my favorite jacket. I have nothing that is as sturdy, comfortable, warm, and overall attractive as this. It's too heavy for what little time I wear a jacket going to and from work, but for projects around the house, shoveling snow, and just hanging out in the cold, nothing else I have compares to this. It is warm beyond what I'd expect for a jacket this size, the pockets are perfectly placed and sized, and wrist cuffs are very comfortable and give great range of movement while working well with work or cold weather gloves.

This heavy-duty coat is a mix of materials:Shell - 100% cottonLining - 100% polyesterSleeve lining - 100% nylonSleeve interlining - 100% polyesterThe outside is like heavy cotton denim. The inside is soft and fuzzy. The collar is corduroy. I have the size Large, and it measures 28” from the top of the shoulder to the bottom. It measures 32.5” from the top of the shoulder to the end of the sleeve. There is one inside zipper pocket (left) and one Velcro pocket (right). There is one outside (left) zipper pocket and open hand pockets at the bottom. There is a cinch cord at the bottom inside.Though they are calling this a “jacket”, it’s really a heavy coat, in my opinion. No, it’s not a “parka”,but certainly something for colder weather.Made in India, so at over one-hundred-twenty-five bucks, it’s a bit pricey, but a very nice coat.

Definitely runs a size big by UK standards. I’m 5’10”, 42 chest and 36 waist, I usually wear medium T-shirt’s which are snug, my denim jackets are usually Large. This medium carhartt fits like a Large, easily, perfect for wearing a hoodie or thin jacket underneath. Pit-to-pit measurement is 25 inches, minus about 1 inch for thickness.Other than that, it’s my first Carhartt and meets my expectations. Extremely well made, comfortable and warm, smart enough for an every-day jacket but also wouldn’t be at all afraid to use it for working outdoors as the marketing suggests. Zips are brass YKK on the olive version, snap buttons are around the outside of the collar but no hood included...easy to find on eBay if you need one. Very happy with it.

Carhartt is known for their high-quality, durable “workwear” products. This full-swing jacket is no exception. I am pleased with the fit, the appearance, and the maximum movement allowed for in the design. I like the look and feel of the corduroy collar, the deep front pockets, and the security of the zippered inner pocket, as well as the extra inside Velcro pocket. The full soft cotton lining adds to the warmth while the heavy-duty outer duck like canvas material cuts the wind chill of some of Midwest winter winds. It feels good to be ready for the changing colors and briskness of fall mornings and that first winter snow.Completely satisfied.

I got this on prime wardrobe to see the sizing. I'm female, but I always buy mens work clothes because they are more durable and better made. I expected the arms to be a little long and they are but not so much that it is uncomfortable. I wore it with a sweatshirt in 30 degree weather last night and I was very comfortable. Im excited to wear it on the job site. Although I love it so much I don't want to ruin it! But thats what's for to get you through work comfortable. LolIt is heavy to hold but when I put it on it wasn't weighing me down, which is important when wearing suspender tool belts and PFAS .Overall very pleased .

I spend all day in the cold. I need a jacket that gives me a full range of movement and will keep me warm so that I can concentrate of photographing wildlife. So far, I am thoroughly satisfied with this jacket. I think it will be just the thing to keep me comfortable when I take pictures of whitetail deer during the rut (mid November when Midwest weather can turn bitter cold almost without warning). I recently wore it photographing waterfowl on a damp morning and it was great.

Great work jacket. Bought this for hanging out and working around the barn. I am 5’10”/165 lbs and the small is a good fit. I tried Carhartt mediums, but they were a bit bulky for my taste. Maybe not as warm as the insulated options but I recently wore it for several hours outside in the 30s and it kept me comfortable. The fleece lined hand pockets was a huge plus over some of the other Carhartt options (C36, for example).

Love this jacket, was between getting a medium and a small and I'm glad I went with a small. It fits me perfectly almost like it's fitted for me. Quality of this jacket is really good, no issues. Has a nice look and could be worn as a casual jacket aswell as a work jacket. It has fleece lining on the inside of the jacket and the pockets aswell which is nice, would highly recommend it!
