I’ve played through the first game and am just mopping up the claptrap dlc. The game runs smoothly all of the time although there are sometimes bad frame drops when a lot of loot and enemies are on-screen in “Hyperion Dump” which they are going to have to fix in a later update. However this was the only time I noticed significant frame drops throughout the entirety of the first game. Playing in handheld is bearable but I find it often difficult to see enemies in the distance due to the small screen. This means often relying on the aim assist feature to aim bot enemies when struggling to see them on-screen. The experience is definitely better when docked as you can see more of what’s going on.That being said, I’ve spent 99% of my time playing in handheld so I’ve obviously not found it too difficult to play with the small screen. Regarding controls, a CONTROLLER is a MUST as using the joycons in a shooting game is absolutely useless and hopeless. Unless you want to do a shotgun only run I would advise getting a controller; the experience is drastically improved tenfold. I am disappointed that 2K have only put Borderlands 1 on the cartridge in an attempt to cut costs on the cartridges, which means that you have to digitally download the other two games. With the expectation that consumers have access to the internet. This trend though began with Activision and I am expecting that this won’t go away any time soon. The total download requires between 40 to 50gb depending if you install both games. Therefore a suitably sized SD card is also required. I went for the 128gb option but perhaps in the future I will need to delete some games for space. I would recommend a SD with more space to be future proof just on the safe side. Overall, playing the games on the switch feels enjoyable and it’s nice to have Borderlands available on the platform. Highly recommended.

Much like the port of BioShock The Collection, Borderlands The Legendary Collection is yet another pretty much perfect port of 3 classic games to the Nintendo Switch. The games are all great fun to play in both handheld and docked modes, they still look good even though they are older games now, sound is excellent and there is loads to get stuck in to with 3 full games and most of the DLC included also.Again, be aware that the cartridge version only has the original Borderlands game on it and there is a download code for the other 2 games inside the case to redeem on the Nintendo store. I always prefer to have a physical cartridge version regardless of still needing downloads and I already own a 128gb micro SD card so this was all fine for me,it's also £5 cheaper on Amazon than just buying it all digitally off the Nintendo store anyway.Great stuff, another easy 5 stars.

When I found out they were rereleasing borderlands for the switch, I decided to buy a switch. I’ve played all the games and available DLC. I still had doubts that it would be playable on a small screen, but there isn’t a problem. Just played through the first game and side missions, no issues - apart from the existing ones e.g. runner getting easily stuck. Colours are really nice. Sound is great through headphones. No lag or crashing.I bought a memory card at the same time because I thought the saves and updates might take up a lot of room. It’s definitely required, I didn’t realise it was only the first game on the card, you download two and three. That sucks, but not sure if you’d get three games and DLC on one card?Very happy to play through them again on a portable device.

Fantastic value for money as this collection is 3 full games with all of the relevant expansion packs. There is easily over 100hrs of gameplay here. This game is best played in cooperative multiplayer where you and up to 3 buddies can work together to complete the various missions and quests and advance the story.Gameplay is fast and furious and action packed. The game has a unique almost comic book like hand drawn art style thats really fun and differentThere is a real sense of humour in a lot of the dialogue and characters which is absent from lots of other games out there that take themselves too seriouslyI'm having a lot of fun with it and it comes highly recommended

Loved that it had the complete borderlands 1 on it with dlcs included I'm yet to complete it, but the legendary collection gets only four stars cause it don't include borderlands pre sequel and borderlands 2 on cartridge . Even though the case says includes. The other 2 games comes as a download code which it states in very small written on the box. I would of paid more if they either included them on the same cartridge maybe a bigger one or if it came as separate cartridges. But glad the first one is on there it's my favourite. But a bit of a let down not putting the other two in physical cartridge form. Hope in the future they re release it with all three.

It's about a decade old now, the Borderlands collective. It was awesome back then and it's still pretty good. This pack gives you the game, some extras, some nice touches. It's not bad really,But, but, but, for the money you could get a new AAA or at least a BBB and really ... who wants to play a dozen versions of the same game? You have to sink your effort and sink your time. You only really can absorb one game at a go, so if you are playing this, your opportunity cost is the other games you could be playing. If you want to exhaust a franchise then yep, this is for you. If you prefer to jump into something new then, meh ... wait for that.

Top drawer FPS collection. Looks & plays fantastically well on the Nintendo Switch in docked & handheld. Gyro controls added too (can be turned off also) which is superb. Graphics & sounds are excellent. Love the timeless art style. I purchased both trilogy collections released by 2K - Borderlands Legendary Collection (£35) & BioShock The Collection (£35) here at Amazon. That's a grand total of 6 AAA titles plus all DLC's. That works out at £11.66 per game. Now that is a bargain for all this content if you ask me.I highly recommend both trilogies!

Borderlands collection is 3 in 1 you get borderlands on your cart and a download code for 2 and the pre sequel. I would recommend using a pro controller as that seems to be more ideal than joy cons but its personal preference. You will need a micro sd card as 3 games will take alot of memory. The graphic style looks a little unusual but works well and the character's have a humorous side especially when you dont do what they say. Each game will occupy you for a hours so a good valueBundle

The games themselves are amazing as you probably already know considering how long they've been out. They run great on the Switch but if you're playing handheld then i highly recommend buying something like the 'HORI Split Pad Pro' controllers that replace the joycons as joycons just don't play well at all with fps games. The aiming is pretty bad so forget about sniper builds. The Hori controllers feel like a PS or xBox controller making the game a lot easier on your hands!

I just bought this today online and wanted to leave a review. Borderlands is one of my favourite all times games and never would have thought that it would end up on the small screen of the Switch. It works perfectly so far, no lags, no nothing; it took a while for me to get used to the new controls but it’s definitely worth it. Keep in mind that you’ll end up downloading 3 games which is a bit big, so you’ll have to make some room unless you have an SD card

Can't go wrong with this collection. As a fan of the series, and having recently made the switch my go-to console, I couldn't resist. The price is fantastic for the sheer amount of content these games have to offer - already I've sunk around 150 hours of playtime across the three, with many more left. If you look for replayability, playstyle variation and fun multiplayer, you really cannot go wrong.

Arrived early and in perfect condition! Love it. THERE IS ONE SLIGHT ISSUE....my copy of Borderlands GOTY...had no DLC's included? I can't access any DLC. Would definitely reccommend. Borderlands is on the game cartridge while, Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel are on prints with download codes.

24.6.2020

Great games and playing them handheld wherever you are makes them even better.Only Borderlands 1 comes on a cartridge (and still requires a 7.7 GB download) and for the other two games are you'll get a code so make sure you've got enough room (41.2 GB to be exact) on your SD card.

1.12.2020

Would absolutely give 5 stars but for one fact. Borderlands 1 is a physical game chip, but you have to download the other two games. I didn't want to download the games as they are huge which is why I went for this, serve me right for not reading the reviews!

30.5.2020

The Games are enjoyable to play they run smooth on the switch but the only down side is you have to download two of games which are codes and download part of the first game which is on the cartridge which is 42gb and you need a micro sd card to play them.
