I have always been surprised by the speed with which certain gamers heap criticism on games. It's a cut-throat business, but sometimes when I read reviews, I get the impression that 9 out of 10 games must be absolute rubbish. Obviously this is not the case......Moving onto the game itself.I thought the graphics for a game of this nature were quite good. The planes are depicted in detail and the colourations and designs are impressive. I will admit that ground troops and vehicles sometimes lack detail, but this is not really that important when playing the game. There are not that many flying games on the PS3, so you could argue that there is not much to compare it to. But having said that, the missions are varied and reasonably well thought out. There are bombing missions, air-to-air missions, torpedoing destroyer missions, flying in very small corridors/passages etc etc. I can't fault it for variety. And with this variety comes fun. I've loved playing the game. From selecting the plane I want for the mission, to changing its colours and designs, to the actualy flying itself..... I was hooked.I recomend this to those that want to have fun behind the controls of a Spitfire of Messerschmit. You won't regret it. And if you're not sure, you could always rent it for the night.A huge plus, is that this game is co-op, so if you want to play split screen with a mate, you can. That's even more fun than it sounds....

Well. Out of the box, PC users will find it a little backward in certain areas - joysticks are STILL hit 'n miss with these guys ( see Blazing Angels 1...ouch!). Sound may also be missing, if you've got onboard sound in your MoBo. Once you get it patched tho', it may suprise you by actually being playable! And hearable! ( My 'stick nearly works OK - just had to map ailerons to rudder and vice-versa! Why??!? This is 2007 not 1987... - Saitek Cyborg Evo Force USB). For a similar game-style see MS's glorious Crimson Skies ( except THEY seemed to have noticed PC flightsim players have had joysticks since Win95 and earlier! Bah!) All in all - yeah, it grades out as a good DX9 arcade flyer.

Well, my lad had the first of the Blazing Angels on his xbox so thought I'd grab this one for my PC. At first, it was a little confusing on what to do but it didn't take long to get to grips with it. I use a PS2 controller with an adaptor on my PC and after actually assigning all the buttons etc. to how I preferred them, it was a breeze to play. Not to be taken 'seriously' in the vein of a simulator because it isn't one.. just good old point an shoot 'em up! For those having problems with the plane rolling out of control etc. I found that is because I've had it on full speed for too long or I'd come to the edge of the 'map' of play. Good game for the price.

I feel obliged to write some things good about it because I love this game! So hard to put it down once you are playing it.It is very enjoyable to play (using a joystick). Missions are well designed, good story, well balanced difficulties and many different things to do.You can also upgrade and customize your planes, and appreciate them in your hangers. The graphics (i use 4870, all high settings no problem) are good if not comparable to those grand titles. I have two joysticks, one bought 3 years ago and one bought recently, both work perfectly.I strongly recommend this title, played lots of games and this is one of the best!

It's a great game this, despite others moaning about it, the actual game graphics are fine. The Cinematic links are poor and some of the 'radio chatter' is a bit tacky, but who really cares about cinematics? It's an arcade game though, so don't think you're getting some ultra realistic flight sim where you spend more time learning to fly the plane than actually getting into the action. It's more than worth the pittance that it sells for.I've given it a 4 star because while i don't really car about cinematics, those that are there are so poor they might as well not have bothered.

I took a risk after reading the poor reviews, but since the poor reviews seemed so irrational,I was rather suspicious of their balance. So if you want a low cost flying shoot-em-up with some tricky but achievable missions that takes advantage of the motion control on the sixaxis - this is it. I am having a lot of fun doing exactly what I wanted to do - fly around shooting down the enemy or blowing up the buildings. If you want more than that I suggest you join the airforce! The graphics are perfectly acceptable, and the options and awards attractive. This is a well designed game.

Bought this game for my partner, who has spent hours and hours playing the game, which in itself speaks volumesThe ratings I've given the game are his and he has said would recommend it. Having played a few other fighting/flying games he feels this is the pick of the bunch considering there is very limited choice on the market for this particular genreAlthough he feels the graphics could have been a bit better, the missions themselves are varied and fun.

A wonderfull variety of faithfully reproduced aircraft from a byegone era. This is your chance to become an air Ace dogfighting climbing and diving and pulling Immelman turns. Powerfull weapons are beneath your thumb and if you can cope with the "G" force you will soon see the enemy planes dropping out of the sky like confetti !!!

Pros:An absolutely awesome and fun game. You'll have hours of fun in this and you can play split screen with your pals which can be fun.Cons:Probably a little too easy and the online multiplayer looks so appealing, however no one is online any longer it seems.

An eventful foray into the underbelly of Military development during war-time which delivers some interesting weapons.Multi-level and challenging ( unless you use the cheats which negates the point ). Thoroughly enjoyable and frustrating at the same time.

Great fun, the single missions are pretty tough, but you do get better the more you play. 2 player split screen takes some getting used to, if you don't follow the objectives you can find the mission over in seconds.

22.9.2016

Not as good as the first game due to forced online side missions and unlockables, unlike the first game with offline unlockables paint schemes upgrades and such, easy to install on windows 7 with no problems.

23.7.2009

Less edgy - more cheesy than BA1, but just a load of fun. The graphics are brilliant - and will get any PCIe card hot. But don't expect a Simulator, this is just purely Arcade.

22.2.2020

Great flying game and you can jump into any mission (with a cheat) without pulling your hair out.

Its a good game although the training thing at the beginning is a bit of a nuisance
