Having pre-ordered his game and completed it just a few weeks after purchase, I'm a little surprised that others claim the puzzles they cannot solve are bugs. The person that couldn't figure out about dividing the number of holes on the drain cover should have listened to the tape in Nina's father's study. The clue is "a fourth on the openings to the entrance of the underworld" - Well a fourth is a quarter, the openings are the vent holes and the entrance to the underworld is the drain cover. This is not a mindless 3D shooting game and people should not buy it unless they are well prepared to think laterally to complete it.The bug that another user claimed about trying to making salt seems odd. What you *do* have to do is: After removing the tumbler from the fire you must examine it in your inventory (Using the 'B' Button) at which point Max notes that there's a layer of salt left and *then* you get salt in your inventory. So if they weren't doing that then it's not a bug. Both my fiancee and I have both played this game through and neither have had any problem at this point in the game.I suppose its a little worrying if the game's customer support failed to communicate this. All in all I had great fun completing this, allbeit with a few frustrating moments where I couldn't quite figure out what to do next - but that's just the nature of adventure games. The graphics are all nicely drawn and the soundtrack is good (particularly the opening music). The script is also very inventive and taking you round the world just adds to the interest. My only serious criticism of this game is that the voice acting is terrible! The actors frequently speak their lines out of context - For example: Using a questioning tone of voice when in fact the character is giving a command. Likewise, several characters pronounce the names of other characters in different ways, even though in the game they're all speaking together. My partner and I are really looking forward to the sequel for this game which is due in Feb'09

First off, please don't buy this game if you want to be shooting things or fighting or endless pages where all you have to do is find hidden object after hidden object, this game is not like that. If you want a game where you need to think about what you are going to do next and enjoy characters with personalities, puzzle solving in the form of finding objects and using them in conjunction with other items (and a couple of other puzzles which are not too hard but require no other objects) then this game is what you are looking for. Also, I haven't played Zak and Wiki because I looked at how it works online and it is (in my opinion) not a typical point and click and holds no appeal for me,so if you are looking for more like Zak and Wiki this is not what you are searching for.So, on to the real review :The dialogue is really good throughout, the graphics are variable but the range is from reasonably good though to excellent - almost lifelike. The puzzles are mostly logical and solveable within a short time, some will require a little more thought, for me I got stuck 3 times but with a little help from the internet I was able to find the solutions I was not seeing (the most obscure of which was what to do with a bale of terry bedding). Not frustrating or boring (like Myst) at any point in time. Played a few hours at a time and only took about 5 1/2 days. My biggest problem with games of this genre is they are never long enough, I always want to be able to play more when they are done. This game has all the charm of other games of it's genre but I found it somewhat lacked the comedy of games like Grim Fandango

I'm really enjoying playing this game, although I have to admit I have had to consult a walkthrough on more than one occasion. That's probably down to my lack of logic and common sense rather than the game's fault, however I doubt I'm not the only one who would never have thought of using double-sided sticky tape to tape your mobile to a cat! Whenever I've been stuck it's been a case of trial and error and just having to combine different items until I get the right combination and then clicking that item on everything until I find the right thing, which can become a bit tedious at times. The voice acting is terrible but the dialogue can be mildly amusing, such as when the main character announces she's never seen a woman use a urinal before! Other reviewers have said this game is too short but I think it's just the right length, any longer and it would have become boring, and this is a clever and interesting game which is definitely worth a look at.

A good old fashioned 'Point & Click' adventure!...Not enough of these nowadays.... not all of us have lightning reflexes, and like to use our brains.... The game is a bit old now, I had it on the PC, but once I upgraded to a newer machine with Windows7, it wouldn't work any more, so I bought it on the wii so I could play through and finish it...... I've not played the sequel yet, but I can highly recommend 'Lost Horizon' by the same game company! Again a point and click, but with added humour, and funny item combinations... (like good old days of Monkey Island and Simon the Sorcerer...) If you like the traditional old adventures... Then go for Secret Files.... But do save your game often as it gets along...as you may get stuck on top of a train with no way down.....

I bought this gamw with much excitement. I am an avid point and click game fan and always have been. I had searched hogh and low for such a game on the Wii and came across this Secret Files. The game has a nice old-school feel with some very nice and stylish graphics. There is a good mixture of puzzles and discussion with characters and some of the solutions really get you thinking.I did find, however, that the game was a little short. I completed it in few days and am now back where i started... trying to find another good point and click game for the Wii!If you are a fan of old-school point and click games and do not like the child-like feel of Zack and Wiki, this is the game for you.

Loved the fact that it was a point and click game. This is only the second game of this sort I have played. I thought it was great that it was all about solving the puzzles and nothing to do with how quickly you could push buttons. I enjoyed the varied settings of the story which meant it held my interest. The puzzles were challenging and I liked thinking them through. Some solutions were a little far fetched and I ended up just combining different items until I hit the right combination rather than thinking of a likely answer. The conversationin the toilet was quite bizarre and rather unsavoury but that aside I had a lot of fun working my way through this adventure.

I used to love these type of games on the Amiga, a la Simon the Sorcerer. This is a really good point and click adventure game. It features very good graphics and can be challenging sometimes which is a good thing. The salt thing I don't understand, which someone mentioned in another review. It seems fine on my copy, just have to examine the item in quesion. I left a star off only because I thought the voice acting wasn't brilliant, and could have been a bit better. But its no deal breaker, I hope there will be some more decent adventure games so, even ports of PC games if they are done well.

It was very addicting game. Everyday after work I just couldn't wait to play it again. It has interesting story and challenging tasks. Sometimes it took me longer to figure out what I have to do, which I think is a very good thing as I wasn't getting bored. I recommend this game for people who like adventure games with a little bit of story and thinking.

What a great game! Good old fashioned point and click adventure. None of the humour that used to be in the old Lucas Arts classics but still very enjoyable. Collect the items and solve the puzzles. PLUS you don't die if you get something wrong or don't do it in time, like in Zack and Wiki (that drives me mad!!).

Compelling, witty and challenging. If you're a fan of point-and-click adventures then there is much here to enjoy. Lots of dialogue, lots of (sometimes wacky) puzzles, and some beautiful environments to explore. One of the best of its kind, in my opinion.

We've played a few, and this is the best adventure game we've done on the Wii. Generally good story, though she can be a bit dim sometimes walking into obviously dodgy situations. If you're thinking about it, it's worth a go.

My first role play game on Wii, it was good but shorter than expected and not quite what I was hoping for. However I will not give up and will look for similar games for Wii.
