I was lucky to receive Bendy and the Ink Machine for Playstation 4 as a Christmas present. I enjoy the more unusual, quirky games rather than the big titles, so this appealed to me for a few reasons.Firstly, I absolutely love the art style. Reminiscent of old style cartoons, think "Steamboat Willie" era Mickey Mouse, or old Betty Boop cartoons. Rather than being straight up black and white though, this has a sepia tone which gives it a real vintage feel. To cut a long story short, it looks great. The characters manage to be both cute and sinister, which is pretty awesome. The music also is used well and adds to the atmosphere. The game is split in to five episodes, which were originally released separately on PC,but were all sold together for the console port. The game is a horror game with puzzle solving, exploration, and some combat. The story is told through audio diaries explaining fates of various characters, similar to bioshock, and through some interaction with certain characters met whilst playing.Although the concept and the world are very appealing to me, there are a few niggles which stop me awarding this a perfect score. The gameplay, for the most part is fine, but it is clear that the combat is not the strong point. There are times when the hit detection is pretty bad, which can be frustrating. Luckily, not much progress is lost when your character "dies". Getting all of the trophies was not too challenging, but a couple were frustrating due to this problem. The story and atmosphere are great, but as this is a smaller game, there was not as much depth to the story as I would have liked, although the ending was pretty clever. I played through twice to get familiar with the game to help with collectibles and trophy hunting, and enjoyed it both times despite the odd niggle. If you are into horror, retro cartoons, and unusual games, this is definitely recommended. A sequel has been announced, I hope they build on this game and create something even more impressive next time around.

Got this game as my son had become interested in the characters after finding them on YouTube.Extremely impressive first person "puzzle action horror", the main selling point for me is the strength of the story. It really motivates you to keep playing. The level of difficulty is generally pretty good. It's not so easy you just breeze through, and not so hard you give up in frustration (though Brute Boris came pretty close).Roll on Bendy 2!

I bought this for my 11 year old who seems to like it. We have played it together and found it entertaining however we haven't played it enough to say whether it a great game or one that we will not finish. It is quite dark so playing it when it is sunny is not really possible (maybe it's just my TV) unless you sit in the dark with the curtains closed. We bought it in the sale so I am happy, not sure I would have paid any more for it though

really thought this game was amazing! the story line really draws you in, a few nice jump scares & i loved how it ended! the game was fairly easy to play (apart from the odd bit). i finished it within 3 days (usually i spend a week minimum on a game like this). it would’ve been nicer if it was a bit longer, but it was still a very very good game. would recommend to any horror fan & if you liked little nightmares you’ll DEFINITELY love this.

Although my Grandson is well below the approved PEGI rating for Bendy and the Ink Machine he has shown no problems with either the content or skill level required for this game. Being on the Nintendo Switch platform means that he can play it at his own pace without any annoying interruptions from his elder siblings'. He has found the game enjoyable and challenging and it will give him many more hours of entertainment into the future.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift and it was very well received. The visuals are great, the story is suitably spooky, the game-play is fun (if you like this kind of game) but it was finished in relatively short order. It can be played again in a slightly different story mode after completion, but of course the story and ending does not change. So not a bad game at all... just a bit short.

I found this game a bit tricky. The story line isn't clear and it's easy to get lost. The colour scheme is mainly black, white and dark yellow. It's dimly lit so takes a lot of focus. I found after an hour I had to have a break. I had read that a character jump scares you so I was wary but I must admit at the age of 37 and a fan of horror even I wasn't prepared when it happened lol.

Got this game for my 10 year old based on reviews, he loves it. Despite the age rating it is good mainly for 7/8 and up as it has the odd jump scare for kids. Worth the money, only problem we found is that as he progresses their is no save state on Xbox currently but you can start the game on any chapter. Not a bad game as it can keep children entertained (within reason).

My son played this on my pc and although he had to play it on the lower settings for it to run he really enjoyed it but i wanted him to have the full experience of the game so i bought him this and it didn't disappoint us ... it looks awesome on the Xbox one and i find myself wanting to play it now its at full graphic mode.. looks good, plays well and it's good value..

Great horror title. Bought for Halloween as was feeling in a horror game mood.I originally played episode 1 on pc when it first came out and loved it.The games is on the shorter side but that works to its advantage as it keeps a good pace that way. I'd highly recommend and now am cautious of any ink puddles I see.

this was the first switch game I've ever bought, and I love playing it, it makes me think of the old 1920's disney cartoons but brings a new twisted light on the story and characters, making for a scary good time. I recommend Bendy for thought who want to explore the Indie genre as well as survival games.

Love this game.Love the atmosphere & the design. One snag the though. Some of the more challenging trophies seem to be unobtainable.(Ie, the ones for Collecting Bacon Soup & Radio Songs)Probably needs a patch.Despite this & how short the game is, It's worth the money in my opinion.

my wife brought this to play,it can be very slow going at times, but it has made her jump a few times when things appear haha.its one of those games that sometimes the door will open, next time you go to that door it wont, its actually very good and ive enjoyed playing it too

Quirky art design which I absolutely loved from the very beginning. Very simple controls combined with interesting puzzles and some small stealth sequences and a beautifully tense music score. Highly recommend, even if you don’t typically like horror give this game a go.

I bought this game for my little sister and in a good way she’s finding it hard to complete, she normally flys through games and she complains that they’re all too easy so this game was definitely a good choice because it’s slightly more difficult. Highly recommend!
