OK you only get 5 Aliens from the Omnitrix (it's playing up again) so really the game should be Ben-5, although Ben-10 is also ten years old. You start with Four Arms and Heatblast and unlock the next three [XLR8, Cannonbolt, and Wildvine apparently, so no Diamondhead, Ghostfreak, Wildmutt, Ripjaws or Stinkfly - if that means anything to you]. Your adversaries include Enoch, Kevin 11, the giant robot, the fungus plant from Camp fever, Hex, Ghostfreak, Dr. Animo, Six-Six, and Vilgax [the alien war-lord who wants the omnitrix to conquer the galaxy]. There are 14 levels across 5 USA locations. You have training levels, and other reviewers say there's a hard mode after you defeat Vilgax in easy. The game is largely a platform one and you whizz about the top screen as Ben, jumping from one alien form to another to defeat the array of bad guys coming towards you. The Omnitrix naturally loses power when you're in alien form so when the bar reaches zero you are stuck as 10 year old Ben until the Omnitrix [quickly] recharges - so it helps to chose alien forms wisely to pick the best for each combat or manoeuvre, e.g jump chasms. So you often have to modify your strategy to defeat each bad guy as quickly as possible. There are alien upgrades when you succeed and you collect Sumo Slammer cards to unlock content/new alien forms. There is a two player co-op mode (with another mate/DS/game chip required). This Game seems popular with all pre-teen Ben 10 fans - some say as young as 6. There's a lot of bad alien biffing, but it doesn't come across as very violent as the characters are all quite small on the top screen [you zoom in and out a bit as Ben runs along]. The game feels similar to the classic Mario and Bart Simpson platform game franchises on the GameBoy/DS. It has a strong Ben-10 theme though, and I suspect the game is particularly boy friendly. My Nephew [8] loves it and has supplied this info - he is naturally a Ben-10 fan and finds the game easy enough to play without being dull [so it appears to be a 5* game for preteen kids]. That said my son [12] has just bought the game for himself and found it a bit tough initially to master the controls. This was until he realised you don't use the stylus to jump aliens/control the Omnitrix on the bottom screen, your right thumb does the job far quicker. The game uses the DS buttons a lot to control Ben. More importantly my son doesn't consider the game too childish for him at 12, and he finds some of the aliens take a time to defeat - plus he still has a soft spot for the classy Ben-10 cartoon series [as do I].

Recently got this for my 5 yr old.He loves all things Ben10, so it has been a great hit! My only complaint as a parent is there are no real instructions other than what buttons to use. Have had to scour the internet sites on how to obtain the other 3 aliens to progress through the game. Also he is unable to save a current game, so has to start at the beginning of that level again next time he uses the game, this is very frustrating for a 5 year old. From a 5yr olds point of view,it is 5 stars!

my son has been absolutely glued to this since he received it! there are handy hints which appear on screen although to defeat some enemies you do have to figure it out yourself (only to be expected or it wouldn't be a challenge hey!?)highly recommemded for any young lad who loves Ben 10.My boy says it's fantabulous!

This game is for Ben 10 fans only. Though sometimes a little on the difficult side my six year old is constantly playing. The game play and graphics are above average and all in all my son would recommend the game to other fans.
