Beefeater Pink is an easy drinking gin, and whilst based on the famous Beefeater London Dry, the bitter juniper notes are noticeably dialled back, as one might expect. They are still present, and work well at restraining the strawberry and candy sweetness. In lesser hands this could have been just another cloyingly sweet alco-pop, but Beefeater (established in 1863) have one of the world's best master distillers on-hand, in the form of Desmond Payne. Under his guidance this strawberry gin manages to steer clear of that pitfall. It won't be to everyone's taste, especially traditionalist gin fanatics, but it does make a fun party drink that will no doubt be refreshing in the summer months. My one disappointment is the slightly watery finish (to my taste at least) - a result of the relatively low 37.5% ABV. On the other hand, this is very competitively priced, so it would be churlish to be too picky.Traditional pink gin is a straight gin mixed with Angostura Bitters, whereas Beefeater Pink, not to be confused, follows the current trend of adding a sweet fruit flavour, post distillation. Tastes vary around the world, and strawberry flavoured gin has been especially popular in Spain for a couple of years now, but has remained relatively unknown here in the UK. This is Beefeater's entry into the sweetened fruit gin sector, and with it I expect the popularity will spread to the home market as well. The most fun can be had in mixing this gin. Take a look at the Beefeater website and you'll find some excellent cocktail suggestions. My own favourite is the Pink and Orange Tonic made with fresh blood orange juice, bitters and tonic. And I can easily imagine Beefeater Pink being a big hit at parties and weddings with creations like the Cotton Candy Berry Sour, which I have yet to try but looks suitably theatrical. In summary, this is a fun, easy drinking gin derivative that deserves an audition, and perhaps a place in your drinks cabinet for those light-hearted summer moments when you may care for a change from the traditional heavy-hitting gins like the 40% ABV juniper-forward staple that is Beefeater London Dry. Both have their place, and both currently sit in my drinks cabinet. Give it a go and see what you think.

This is a very pleasant flavoured Gin at a great price from Amazon. Gin seems to be all the rage these days with a wide variety of flavours and varieties. This is a strawberry flavoured Gin from the well established Beefeater brand still distilled in Kennington, London. The bottle is the traditional Beefeater square bottle with a screw top. The drink is pink in colour but without looking too vibrant and packs a punch at 37.5% even though purists may scoff as it is below 40%. It tastes very pleasant, still tasting like a proper Gin with some extra sweetness from the Strawberries but without overpowering the traditional botanicals that define it.My wife prefers it with lemonade but she is not aspirit drinker anyway and has a real sweet tooth and this makes an easy drinking beverage while I prefer tonic, which compliments it without it being too sweet. It is also ideal for using in Cocktails and there are some nice ones on the Beefeater website to try, or make up your own.I liked this far more than expected and found it to be a handy addition to the drinks cabinet and great value at the current price of £14 on Amazon.

Beefeater London Dry Gin is still distilled in London – unlike many other brands who have moved gin production away from the English capital over the years. This Beefeater Pink Gin is not a traditional pink gin, which is a cocktail made from gin (commonly Plymouth Gin) and Angostura Bitters, but it is actually Beefeater London Dry Gin flavoured with strawberry - which is added post-distillation. Probably more of a summer drink this pretty-in-pink version is recommended over ice with tonic and real strawberries – probably very nice with Wimbledon on the TV or at a BBQ. This pink gin comes in a square Beefeater 70cl bottle proclaiming it's London origin, and is 37.5% alcohol-by-volume.If you don't expect a traditional pink gin, and you are fond of strawberries, then this Beefeater London Pink with a hint of Strawberry could suit you very well. Personally I prefer a straight G&T but my wife found this very pleasant indeed – offering a taste of summer on a cold January day. Five stars for the intended market and very good value at Amazon's current price of fourteen pounds.

I hesitate to suggest that a pink coloured, strawberry flavoured gin is being aimed at a particular segment of the booze guzzling population but I had a sniff of it and put the cap back on, whereas my partner vanished almost two thirds of a bottle using a trick involving a tall glass, soda water and a lot of ice. Apparently this is a Gin Ricky, but by the third one she was referring to it in some sort of rhyming vernacular which was not at all appropriate for a woman of her advanced years.I quite like an ice cold gin and tonic from time to time, though I'm more of a red wine or beer kind of a guy. Flavoured gin seems somewhat superfluous to me, as it is already a very flavoursome alcohol, but the missus seems to be a fan. She told me that the hint of strawberry is very welcome when you're drinking it with a neutral mixer like soda water. She also told me I was her best friend and suggested we move house without telling the kids.Curiously the listing is for Beeefeater, rather than Beefeater and has been that way for months now. I wonder will they ever change it.

Well, this is rather enjoyable. I wasn't sure how much I'd care for a strawberry flavoured gin. Since gin has such a distinctive flavour from the juniper berries I feared that this might be overly sweetened and fruit flavoured in order for the strawberry taste to come through - and end up tending towards an alcopop style drink. Instead, this is quite subtle. It took me a while to put my finger on it, but the scent from the bottle (and before adding tonic in a glass) is a bit like a gin-based jelly shot made with strawberry jelly. This quality dissipates when tonic is added. Over ice, with a good splosh of Schwepps this is a pleasant thing - a delicate, blush colour, and a gentle strawberry flavour that complements the resinous, juniper of the gin without dominating.A subtle, strawberry flavour that offers an interesting twist on a classic G&T.

Now I like gin and also quite partial to strawberries for myself a perfect combination in this gin from Beefeater. This got mixed reactions in our house more liked than disliked it one being a non gin drinker. So they were just left without a rather nice gin and tonic. It’s strawberry flavored and I found if bottle left in fridge then gin and tonic made tastes even better.Looks good with it being pink coloured too. This item takes me back to a good few years back when Beefeater gin was a staple cocktail cupboard drink in my late parents home the original one of course not this flavored pink one. I didn’t realise it was still a brand that was around after all these years but obviously reinvented being this strawberry one.Love the taste and colour of it a winner for me.

Don't make the mistake I did of assuming this is your traditional pink gin, consisting just of gin and bitters. This is a very different drink, being a mix of strawberry and gin. Apparently that what "pink gin" means these days (gin + some sort of red berry). You live and learn. As to the drink itself, the strawberry is very dominant, and is accompanied with a significant sweetness (perhaps a little too much for my tastes). Drunk neat over ice, the traditional juniper and other botanicals are present, but very much in the background. It's not one for lovers of complex gins, but it is still very pleasant, and would be refreshing with some tonic or lemonade on a hot summers afternoon.

First off I think they need a more accurate nomenclature; as any fule kno 'pink gin' is gin with a dash of Angostura bitters, so they really ought to call this 'strawberry gin', which is what it is. One suspects that this is targetted towards women. The fear with this kind of product is that it is going to be much too sweet, the more so since adding lemonade is the primary recommendation alongside a standard tonic. Having tried this with tonic it's not too bad at all, with a strangely compelling bitter-sweet combination.Personally I still wouldn't go for it over a more traditional gin, but I can see that this would be a winner for some people. 3½ stars rounded up.

Pink... gin...?Ok, I wasn’t sure quite what to expect with this. Or how to mix it. So I googled it and decided to use a can of Fever Tree Aromatic tonic. So, gin glass, plenty of ice and a measure of Pink gin. (I would have added strawberry’s - but I didn’t have any). Taste. I can’t taste the gin. I added more, still, can’t taste. Add more, there we go. And now I’ve put nearly three measures in and am getting a headache. Can just about taste it. And am enjoying my strange pink drink.Would I swap it for straight gin... not sure. But it’s an interesting change.Of note, the gin was poorly packaged on delivery - as noted by other reviewers. I’m surprised by this.

Bit of a bandwagon situation, Beefeater have joined the summer fruits flavoured Gin rush, a bit late too.The quality of Beefeater Gins has always been great - I drank it before the Millenniums discovered it.The addition of summer fruits makes this much more a cocktail ready gin, coupled with a proper Fever Tree Tonic and this is a divine tipple. It is a little bit sweeter than the old gentlemans club variety and aimed for the average Snowflake palate; but it is an enjoyable drink - especially on a hot summers night served over ice at a respectable near freezing temperature.Nice drink, summer aroma, whats not to like? Enjoy.

I had my doubts, so this came as a very pleasant surprise - the delicate strawberry flavour works very well in a gin, and they have pitched it nicely, not strong enough to be over sweet, and not light enough to be too thin a flavour. The base gin is pretty rough. I usually drink gin neat, and this is a proper throat burner, and not in a nice way. So this is definitely a gin for a tall glass. I'd recommend sparking mineral water so you don't swamp the flavour, or if you do want to go for a tonic, try Fevertree Mediterranean. It seems a long way from summer right now, but this is definitely a taste of it. Well worth a punt.

Had a few friends around the other day and they soon clocked this on the gin shelf. Needless to say it got opened prematurely as it was bought for Christmas. Have to say, not bad of all. Nice strawberry taste, slightly sweetish and I found it nice with tonic and ice and it also works well with lemonade. It is quite strong, so go easy on it unless you want to end up rather inebriated. The other thing I would mention is that it can taste rather 'soft drink like' due to the fruit and sweetness when mixed with lemonade, so don't get caught out, it is easily done. At thirteen pounds for this - I would call it a bargain.

Good quality gin, very sweet, which isn't my usual choice but I enjoy the strawberry undertones and its a hit with friends so ideal for sharing as people can then choose to add lemonade, tonic or even flavoured tonic such as elderflower. I prefer it with a quality plain tonic, ice and a slice of lemon. I'd imagine in the summer it will be served with strawberries to garnish and frozen berries in place of ice - yummy. For the rrp it's offering good value for a respected brand and unlike some of the other budget flavoured gin, it's likely to ve around for a good while to come and not a limited edition

So I ordered this as I couldn’t get my usual pink gin. This has a lovely strawberry scent in the bottle but when mixed with tonic water all I can taste is the tonic. This means I’m adding more gin then usual to my drink, not always a negative though lolI tried it with lemonade and it was much better, sweet but not too sweet and I could taste the strawberry flavour but did have a slightly synthetic taste.I would order it again if I cannot get the usual as it is nice and enjoyable but It’s not going to replace my Gordon’s pink!

This is as beautiful & lovely as my photo! I am not advising to mix but damn this tastes good mixed with a nice rosè wine, lemonade & ice! This was a favourite of my whole family’s and to save time I would just pour half a bottle in with a whole bottle of sweet rose into a jug Topped with lemonade with some ice... beautiful. If you haven’t tried different flavoured Gins, and I was always against Gin this changed my mind. Happy to drink with or without wine added but I do always add lemonade as I can’t stand tonic!
