Absolutely brilliant kit to build, very involved. Taken me two solid weeks to construct.Instructions can be a little vague at times, and some pics dont match the parts you receive. The thinnest thread supplied is too thick to fit the blocks, but luckily I had plenty of spare rolls from other kits.Some parts of the plans are misleadingly marked with the wrong part number, but that's easily overcome.Some of the smaller white metal cast parts are very brittle and a lot of care is needed when handling them.I've been building for about 30yrs, so non of problems above really phased me, it's almost expected with a kit like this.I replaced some of the brass wire supplied with my own steel wire,

I have ordered and paid for this model but this item were never despatched. I have ordered it from 2 different suppliers and both cannot deliver it to South Africa. The money for the first were refunded. I still would appreciate it if any supplier can sent it to me. Other ship models that I ordered from Amazon were delivered to me by UPS and Iparcel within 6days. I have seen the model kit itself and is excellent and will be a star in my collection. I rated it 4 stars but if I can build it, it is worth 5 stars.

I ordered this to make whilst in lockdown. It is a very well made kit. It is my intention to convert to radio control, so it will need some major modifications. The only drawback was the the keel has a curve in it. This is not unusual with wood, and would make little difference in a static model. The keel is now being flattened. All the wooden parts are good. The brass and metal fittings are high quality. This is a very nice kit that will take about 3 months to make.

These type of models take 3-6 months to build so what its like to use is premature - but it looks real good! The item arrived in excellent good time and condition and well packaged both by the maker and the manufacturer. so five stars.
