I spent a lot of time worrying about what hard drive to get for my laptop, especially considering the little number of reviews on laptop hard drives > 500GB.I decided that you can never have too much memory and considering that you cannot, to date, get a bigger 2.5" hard drive at 9.5mm. I thought "to hell with it" and just brought this one hoping that the previous reviewer's comments of sluggish speed were a bit over stated. Luckily I have found this to be the case.I have no problem in recommending this hard drive. Mine is quieter and faster than the 250GB Hitachi one that came installed in my Sony Vaio.

Very good product, highly recommended. It has made my sons PS3 a `monster' from 80G to 640G. We had problems trying to transfer all his downloads and music across; this took several attempts using an external hard drive and a PC. This became very frustrating. We eventually achieved this by down loading some software that split the saved downloads into 4G segments.If I had to recommend anything it would be that manufactures should give clearer instructions on how the transfer process should be done. We only found out by searching on website forums and putting trust in other peoples experiences.

I bought this particular make & model because it was the same as the original. The price was right, delivered on time, packed really well. Then I just plugged it in and stared to load it up as my old one and its worked and been switched on now for the past two months, BRILLIANT.Can't find any fault with it at all.Which is what I expect from a make like Western Digital.My old one was never switched off for over 5 years.Fingers crossed 4 years 10 months to go.

Finally installed the drive, what I will say is make sure you use the drive image software from the WD site as this makes the drive work well. Other third party drive image software made the drive unresponsive. Delivery was prompt and packaging protected the contents well. Bare in mind also that royal mail seem to think it is OK to leave the package on the doorstep! Good service from the supplier and was fully informed of the order status :-)

Surprised by the low number of stars for this product I decided to read the reviews. They didn't really make sense so I bought the drive any way. So glad I did, it is exactly what it says it is in the description. It fitted easily into my Acer laptop, and worked with no problem at all. At a great price too, I am very impressed!Don't be misled by the number of stars, read the actual reviews, I'm glad I did.

We are a small independent Computer Repairs shop that get a couple of Hard Disk related repair jobs in every week. We have come to trust Western Digital drives reliability and our first choice for several years has been Western Digital. We used this particular model frequently and have not had any problems, so would recommend it.

I used this hard drive to increase the capacity of my ps3. It worked perfectly took ten minutes to fit and exchange all the data. It also makes less noise than the original equipment. Only down side is that after the ps3 did its format it only found 530gb but this is due to the fat32 format and not the hard drive. Excellent buy.

The thing I like about western digital drives is how silent they run compared to others.This is a great upgrade to the standard Toshiba satellite A300 - 2C3 fodder in the earlier machines with a smaller drive.I upgraded my memory at the same time and windows 7 runs like a dream compared to XP on this machine.

Bought this as a replacement for my partners HP laptop which original Hard Drive was too noise and at its last days there was a click going on, so I purchased this one and everything is back to normal. Really easy to install and quiet product! Worked immediately after instalment! Really good value for money!

I bought this hard drive to replace my old PS3 40GB version.This has been highly recommended by other users of the ps3.Very easy to change over, literally plug and play.My ps3 always used to heat up fast with my old HDD but with this new Western Digital it hasnt accessed the back up cooling fans yet.

I brought a Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD2500BEVT (250 GB, SATA, 8 MB) Hard Drive to upgrade my PS3.Worked like a charm, plugged it in the drive formatted then reloaded my saved data, easy as 1,2,3.Now have a 250gb ps3 instead of a 60 gb without the need to go out and buy a new system.

Great quality , for using as laptop main hard drive or buy a enclosure and use as a external drive . Back up is a must so a inexpensive solution to p.c. nightmares. Forget the cheaper alternatives as build quality is poor . Also the W.D. can be repaired if required so data can be saved .

This hard drive works very well and is very quite in running. It could have been better packeted, but this is nit picking, as its worked straight out of the sealed packet.It came the follow morning by courier , only brought at 3.00 pm the previous afternoon, which was excellent.

What can I say about this drive? It is a reliable drive for everyday use where a 2.5 inch drive is required and provides more than enough space for an installation of a operating system to be installed. If this drive fits your needs then you can't really go wrong with it.
