Although the handle does not feature any dimples, ridges or any similar design that may improve grip, I have never found that a good grip was difficult to achieve with my existing Wera set supplied in a mini tool roll and bought about a year ago. The green insertions into the handle are a softer material than the main body (rubber, silicone or similar) and help with the grip. The handle on this tool appears to be externally similar in design to the other although significantly larger and should prove equally satisfactory for many years to come. There is space inside holding within it six bits, two each slotted, Philips and Pozidrive in the more common sizes, and which can be accessed by pressing the green button on the end.The bit holder is magnetic but you could add Wera's Rapidaptor (available separately, often at under £10) to provide easy insertion and removal with a more firmly secured bit during use.The long hexagonal blade stem is rigid and reasonably long and unlikely to interfere with its deployment which my previous tools that do not feature a shaft but just the handle and hex adapter often did. Wera's hex bits are generally reckoned to be about the best available, although they do have at least two qualities of product (excluding their Impact range) of which the 'Diamond' range (not included here) is supreme. However, supplying 'Diamond' bits where relevant would have raised the price dramatically. If you need a ratchet driver, this is probably the best and most practical solution available and the price is also reasonable for the quality. As the shaft is almost as long as its handle, it should be easy to use when confined by objects (pipework or fittings). Other than having to buy a Rapidaptor, should I choose to use one, I cannot find any negatives about this tool.

Thought I'd go for some premium screwdrivers,I was torn between a Wera set of 6 drivers or this one.Glad I went for this, as it's proven versatile enough for nearly every DIY job I've done.QualityFrom the way it's packaged, to how it feels in the hand, it looks and feels high quality.RatchetThe ratchet has 3 settings (Left turn, Right turn, and stationary (fixed like a normal screwdriver))Feels to have alot of teeth, it allows for very small degree turns in ratchet mode.HandleThe handle is molded with an ergonomic grip feel for the hand. The lower part of the handle tapers to a thinner diameter, which allows you to turn it rapidly with a pinch grip.Screwdriver bitsStowed inside the handle, there is a barrel containing 6 screwdriver bits (2 phillips, 2 pozi, 2 flat (2 sizes each)).The barrel is exposed via a release button at the butt of the handle.ShankThe shank of the screwdriver is hexagonal, allowing a spanner to fit onto it if you need to apply extra torque to your twist.Pros(all of the above)ConsNone that I can think of.Overall, very impressed with this screwdriver, especially the quality and thought that has gone into it.Highly recommended.

I bought this because of the design. Now I realise that there are other drivers with bit holders integrated into the handle but think about how badly those are designed. They usually use the handle as a canister and a plastic cap that screws on to the top of the handle to keep the loose bits from falling out. They are also terrible in use because the cap often comes loose when the device is in use. This Wera has a crucial difference. The top of the driver has a button which clicks. It never springs loose. When the button is pressed it unclicks the entire handle to reveal a range of screw bits stored inside, each of which is held inside its own clip so as not to jump about in use. When closed, the sheer quality of the metal and the handle combine to give you perhaps the best manual screwdriver on the market. This means that you are never without a number of Philips and flat head style bits in just one product without the faff of using a set. And in this case, the concept actually works.Highly recommended even if slightly pricey.

After having used this for over two years, I can say that it has survived lots of DIY projects and ikea furniture and other uses and it still looks relatively new. The ratchet still gives a nice loud satisfying clicking, the bits show practically no wear unlike some of the screws I have used it on. The magnet is still as strong as ever, some may say too strong for certain jobs with tight spaces and lots of metal, it wants to stick to everything. The bit holder in the handle has saved me so much time. There is no need to look in the tool box for the right bit, just press the button, swap the bit, and carry on working. I can't say I have needed any other bits than what is included for 99% of jobs I have done with it.I still think the handle is one of the most comfortable screwdrivers I have ever held, and is exceptionally easy to grip. This is possibly my favourite tool that I own.

Although I have a bosch rechargeable screwdriver, I don't always want to get it out when I just have one screw to put in somewhere and I don't really want lots of different screwdrivers which are never all in the same place. It is easy to lose the bits on drivers that don't have onboard storage and some store the bits loosley in the bottom of the handle which means everytime you want to change a bit you have to decant the whole lot into your hand. This fits the bill. It has a ratchet which makes it easier and the bits are nicely stored and easily organised and accessible. The tip is strongly magnetic so the driver bits do not fall out easily. The grip is really good.It is ideal to leave a the go to driver in a kitchen drawer. It seems like good quality, but I have not had it long enough to know. Ugly - but seems to tick all the boxes.

This is an excellent product and made extremely well. I hadn’t heard of the Wera brand before, but after this initial first purchase of one of the brands product I will definitely keep buying them in future. Quality German craftsmanship that the Germans used to be famous for is to be found here - German cars aren’t what they used to be.The quality etc. reminded me of what Stanley tools used to be like 30+ years ago, which I can clearly remember from my Dad’s toolbox. The driver bits don’t slip out of screw heads and the ratchet mechanism feels and sounds of quality. Push the little button on the top of the handle and down pops a ring with all the interchangeable driver bits.It made the task of stripping down and rebuilding my computer tower far easier and without issue.I’ll definitely be buying Wera tools again for future projects.

Another reviewer said this was a good as a Snap On. I don't think it is as good as the Snap On ratchet driver I used to own until some rat stole it; but it IS without a doubt a heck of a step up from your Stanley's and Drapers and trash like that. It's a quality piece of kit. The ratchet is smooth, and with 72 points it feels responsive, the grip is very comfortable while remaining rounded to prevent too much torque, the mode selector is easy to use and overall this is a really top notch screwdriver that you will enjoy using for years to come. There is a little bit of negative play in the ratchet mech, but not enough to be bothersome and I think I would have preferred if the bit holder had popper out from the end,not the centre of the piece, but these are just niggles.Highly recommended.

Very good tool. I bought it on 'deal of the day' and it was very reasonably priced. Wera is rapidly becoming the only company whose tools I will buy. There are a multitude of Wera ratchet screwdriver sets - just be sure that the one you buy gives you the range of bits that you want. The storage of the bits ion the handle feels a bit gimmicky and I have concerns over how long the mechanism for that will last, but at the moemnt I love it. In fact, for a Wera tool, it's quite cheap feeling. I don't think I 'd be as happy if I'd paid full price for it.

I have to admit, you can easily find similar ratcheting screwdrivers for much lower prices.I went with Wera because I wanted to buy one good screwdriver with replaceable tips, which could replace all miscellaneous screwdrivers I had laying around. This has to be one of my favorite tools to use. The handle is incredibly comfortable, the tips are the best I've used by far and the ratcheting feel is fantastic!I can't speak for its durability but I've been using it multiple times a week while moving and this is a tool that I always carry with me.

If you're not a believer in paying for quality - you won't want this screwdriver! It's expensive because it is so well made and presise. I've had many screwdrivers before but this one is fantastic - I'll be buying Wera from now on as it really does make a difference. Having the 'bits' in the quick release handle might seem like a unnecessary novelty but it works so well - and I havent mis-laid one yet.

I bought this after losing my Stanley ratchet screwdriver which I’ve had for a number of years. I wish I’d bought this Wera screwdriver much earlier. It feels like the Wera has a much finer ratchet system and the handle is far more comfortable to use. The big storage is slightly smaller on the Wera versus the Stanley however this is more than made up for by the overall compact design of the Wera.

As an aircraft engineer I can recommend this screwdriver. It is just as good as a snap on screw driver. The handle stays locked and will not accidently pop open while in use, it has a fine ratchet making it smooth to use. There is a good positive lock on the rotation selector and a nice powerful magnet to keep the bits in and attract screws. The handle is comfortable to hold giving a good grip.

Having owned the stanley rachet screwdriver for many years i was shopping for a replacement due to a theft. Loved my stanley rachet but took a gamble with this one for more than double the price. I was more than happy to recieve double the quality and craftsmanship. The weight and feel is perfect for me, less clumsy than the stanley version. Much more profesional and hopefully long lasting

More great engineering from Wera. Bit holder is well designed, easy to open and close and very easy to remove bits while still holding them securely, Bits themselves are very high quality and have bit into screws that other cheaper screwdrivers have failed to move. Ratchet is very fine and feels like high quality metal rather than the plastic found on many ratchet screwdrivers.

This is a really well made bit of kit. It does what it is supposed to do with a lot more precision than cheaper alternatives. For those who know what a ratchet screwdriver is for this feels like one of the best made. If you are looking for something for occasional use look elsewhere, but if you use this regularly it is worth spending the money.
