Absolutely fantastic. As one of the rare breed of female DIYers/hobbyist engineers, it's not always easy to get things done with bog standard tools. While I am pretty strong, sometimes I just need a little extra to get the job done. This ratchet screwdriver is that little extra! I am currently building a single size chair bed to help with extra space in my box room and I chose to build it using pine slats. Since I'm making this thing to last, I chose the best wood screws I could find. I originally thought of getting an electric drill/driver for this project, but I've read too many mixed reviews that I simply trust my own muscle to a DC motor. This screwdriver won't run out of power when you need it.There are no cheapy plastic gears to strip. You can feel the heft and know it was made to last (just like my super old Black & Decker hammer drill that just refuses to die. You know, from when all their power tools were green?). The ratchet mechanism does the work when my wrists just can't take any more. When I received it, I tried it out on the screws I had already driven. It made ones that I struggled with perfectly flush with the wood. And not an ounce of pain like you think you're sheared your wrist off. I don't know why I didn't pick one of these up sooner.Be aware that it doesn't come with bits (I already knew this), so I ordered some at the same time which look pretty good and fit/work well and I have also left a review for:http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007MMG4YK/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0I highly recommend this ratchet screwdriver if you do a lot of DIY (even if it's the simple flat-pack stuff!).

After 8 months of heavy daily usage the only signs of wear are nicks and scratches to the handle. My first experience with ratchet drivers was with the cheaper kind found in shops but after 1-2 months the ratchet head would start always slipping out of the selected direction in use ,come loose, separate completely from the body and finally fall into its component bits. I worked my way through several of the cheaper type before deciding to risk spending a bit more on this one and I am glad I did.In comparison to the cheaper type this ratchet driver has several advantages;well made and doesn't come apart after a short time so it is better value in the long run,has finer teeth on the ratchet with no play between the teeth, which allows more control and force to be transferredthe ratchet always stays in the position you set it to ,bits that you clip in will never fall out - and vanish into dark unreachable corners, and it has a very ergonomic handle, which you tend not to appreciate till you have had this a while and try a old fashioned boxy screwdriver. The only minor improvement I would suggest to Wera is to find a solution for L 0 R handle markings wearing away over time

this is so well made and comfortable to hold and use the handle is weighted but not heavy in fact its balanced well light enough to use with 2 fingers and robust enough for excellent purchase and torque the mechanism is well built and with even very small increments for even those delicate jobs this takes 1/4" hex but I did try the double end leatherman bits OK THEY DONT LOCK IN PLACE but the bit magnet is easily strong enough to hold them in and with a gentle tug easily removed hex bits are held securely for the money best investment ive ever had for my tool box for screwdrivers this is certainly going to be my go to screwdriver for most jobs for the awkward areas I would definitely recommenda bit extender where the ratchet head is too big or use a different one for most jobs this is definitely perfect and the quality is above and beyond what I expected hope this review will entice you in your decision

As has been mentioned in other reviews, strongly made, excellent ratchet mechanism and what I particularly like is the collar to keep the bits from falling out. Cheaper handles rely upon a small magnet that usually does the job but if you are holding the screwdriver over a motorbike petrol tank, as I was recently, removing the filler flap, it's good to know that the bit isn't going to fall somewhere you cannot retrieve it from! I placed a rag over the hole just in case!!Not sure I am ever going to use it up to the maximum torque but it feels solid enough to take some stick.I bought some diamond bits from a well known auction site for those really difficult jobs but any bits will fit.Don't rely on cheap tools, splash out on this. Recommended 100%.

I own both the multibit extending driver and the ratcheting version now, and I find them both very useful.Pro:The ratchet seems to work very smooth and the switching is very easy. The end also acts like a chuck that won't release the bit unless you want it to. The magnetic bit catch also holds onto the bit very well. It is very comfortable to hold compared to many others as well.Con:i wish it had more of the features that the multi bit driver had. The multi bit (Pictured on the right) can extend much farther, and can hold 8 bits. If this ratcheting version had these features as well it would be the perfect screwdriver.

I'm really happy with this screwdriver, the overall build quality is excellent and i can see this lasting a long time.I bought this after the screwdriver i had from another set fell apart, and had to be thrown away. I could straight away feel the difference in quality, the ratchet mechanism feels smoother and more solid. The good news for me is the all the bits from my previous set are compatible. The screwdriver also has a clever magnetic locking function, which was a nice bonus.Recommended.

I've had my fair share of screwdrivers but this is hands down the best one. The finish and the handle grip is amazing. Although for $43 it would've been more practical to add a ph2 bit. However my biggest concern is the looseness of the rapidaptor inside the handle. There is a fair amount of play, in both axial and radial directions. Still works well, it's just I expected something from Wera to have a better quality. But honestly I would still recommend the product.

And here i was thinking that my bahco screwdriver was a thing of beauty. I was wrong. This wera takes a big heavy stick to the bahco it really does. The wera is so much more positive in the hands, has a good heft and the mech is truly precision. The only minor issue is that the rapidaptor is a little bulky if you are wanting to get into recessed screws, however a simple set of longer driver bits sets that to the side. Ok not cheap but amazing value for money.

If you're someone who uses a screwdriver often then you'll appreciate the superior quality of Wera. This driver feels great in the hand, doesn't slip and the ratcheting function feels solid with an easy adjustment collar and fine stepping. The rapidaptor makes switching bits one-handed very easy. Be aware that there a few a few different versions of this with and without the rapidaptor and ratchet function so see what's right for you.

time will tell if this lives up to it's price and hype. the last ratchet screwdriver was just an off the shelf CK model. it lasted over 12 years of moderate use before the ratchet broke and no longer gave me the lefty loosy option. From what i have read this Wera model should easily outlive the CK one. the only downside is that it came without a case. for now its still in the whitebox that it was delivered in.

Quality, Wera quality.... fairly compact, you might need an extension bar or use longer bits but whatever you do you'll appreciate the quality build. I used mine undoing some tightly fitted 10mm bolts in an industrial vehicle and the ratchet mechanism coped well under stress. The silver collar that selects left/right/static ratchet mode is made of metal despite looking like nasty silver plastic in the pictures.

We use nothing but Wera tools at work and this brand has never failed us so I decided to get one to use a home. It's the most comfortable screw drivers in my hands, the rotation ring feel free great, the clicks is crisp without being noisy or feel cheap. I'm confident this screw driver will last for years. My biggest complains is now I can't use other screw drivers and can't stop buying more Wera.

Very high quality ratchet screwdriver. No instructions and comes in a plain cardboard box. That said it's all easy and very intuitive. I used it on a small job straight away and was pleased with how it handles. I will definitely buy more Wera stuff. This model takes standard screw bits from other companies. I am storing it in a pouch I bought for a LED Torch that is a perfect fit.

Ergonomic and intuitively designed, this small masterpiece can be kept at the ready for any task. This buy replaced a previously purchased Wera which was lifted by a light fingered delivery driver.. I already had the further accessories which are very good.... You can add this, more or less basic device, and look look forward to a lifetime of reliability.Highly recommended.

I love this ratchet screwdriver. It has arguably become my most favourite tool. I'd not used any Wera tools previously, but since buying this have bought a few others given how impressed I am with how well this is made and its usability. It fits nicely in my hand and takes a lot of the effort out of driving in screws or undoing them. I would certainly recommend it.
