This is a very nice tableware set indeed. Made from high quality porcelain, the care and attention that has gone into the design is obvious from the off. Sizing is well-judged, the weight and overall shape easy to use and store. The unglazed outer surface has the pleasant matt texture you would expect; the manufacturer notes that this allows owners to write on it, should the inclination strike. It certainly hasn't struck me, as the quality of the surface and materials itself is too attractive for that, but it's a possibility for those who wish to do so. The internal glazes are excellent: the delicate rose and contrasting pure white and dark,leaf green with their subtle designs are timeless; even the latter does not appear as heavy as might be thought due to the pure white outer surface and rim. The bowls also have slightly different outer decoration, with the white having a plain surface, the rose with fine vertical bars and the green horizontal rings. All excellent, attractive, with a nice contrast in overall texture and appearance.Cleaning is easy, the information and barcode labels affixed to each piece use adhesives that are easily removed (a useful detail) and the set can be used in microwaves and dishwashers as well as conventional hand-washing; I see no issue with their being used in small cafes and bars as well as in the home. Overall, I am extremely impressed, and have only a single issue to raise about this attractive tableware set.The packaging.Nice outer shipping box, nice inner content box. All items individually wrapped in thin cardboard / paper. And rammed any old how into the main content box. When I opened it up, two bowls and two plates was smashed to bits, all because they had been chucked without any thought into the box; somebody had clearly tried to jam them together, without separate padding layers or supporting cardboard structure, with the inevitable results. Now, granted, I have received this lovely tableware set as a review piece. Possibly customers will receive it in another way, properly packed with the care and attention it certainly deserves. I would hope so, but I can only call this on the evidence I have to hand. Putting myself in the position of a paying customer, which is my role here as a reviewer, had I paid the thick end of £220 for this set, and received it in this condition, I would be livid. Yes, I would be able to order a replacement (with all the inconvenience that entails) but that is not the point. All reasonable people accept that shipping damage occurs from time to time. It's inevitable; irritating, but it happens, especially for delicate items. But in this case, it shouldn't, and there would have been far less chance of it occurring had they not just been jammed together into the box.Recommended then? Yes. It's lovely, and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt over the packaging, albeit noting the issue I had. Attractive, well styled, well priced and well made. I like it a lot.

You get:6 plates6 cups without handles6 bowls1 large serving bowl*extra pieces of each can be purchased separately.Looking more like a hand crafted set of porcelain than you'd expect from factory produced tableware, this is a concept collection that mixes three different glaze finishes with three different relief patterns, making it possible to mix and match colours and textures in a large number of combinations, as your mood or decor dictates. It's a lovely idea, and adds an unusual and welcome level of flexibility and personal expression.Each design is available to purchase separately and in all colour options, allowing an even greater range of combinations as your set expands.The external surfaces remain unglazed, giving a wonderfully soft and tactile feel to the pieces, enhanced by the different surface relief patterns. Villeroy & Boch even suggest you take your creativity to the next level by writing pencil messages on the outside. I tried it and wasn't convinced - getting it off again was a problem, and being unglazed you need to be wary of possible staining. The accompanying leaflets warn of this, so be ready to see them develop a patina over time.Interaction with the surfaces is encouraged by the omission of handles for the cups, which are lovely to cradle in your hands. Other cultures have been drinking tea this way for millennia, so don't be afraid to try it. Remember that they tend to use higher quality tea though, which is prepared with water below boiling temperature. If you're determined to stick to your current cups or mugs, just use these for serving deserts - they make an ideal portion size.So far so good. My disappointment kicked in when I discovered broken product in the box. I wasn’t surprised to be honest, given the way Villeroy Boch choose to box up this set at their factory. The pieces are simply wrapped in sheets of brown paper and piled in a heap, with space to spare for movement. So, no matter how much care Amazon or another seller take in packaging the retail box, there’s a good chance of product damage in transit, as several reviewers have discovered. When I opened the retail box my first impressions were more of a charity shop level of packaging rather than something befitting an expensive porcelain set from a top manufacturer. It’s a shame, and the poor presentation lets down an otherwise superb set of tableware.CONCLUSIONThis is a very attractive, playful and tactile set of porcelain, and I really like it. The colours are subtle and the nature inspired patterns are lovely. Photos on a web site don’t do it justice, so if you like the look of it here I’m sure you’ll be delighted when you receive it.

I want to start off by saying that this is an absolutely gorgeous set of tableware from Villeroy & Boch. The set comprises of 6 bowls, 6 plates, 6 "mugs" (with no handles, this was new to me, but they are actually quite comforting to hold) and a serving dish.You get two white, two pink and two green items in the six, the serving dish has the green interior. Each of the colours is decorated slightly differently. All the colours are matt white (unglazed) on the outside. The white pieces have a plain unglazed exterior and glazed interior, the pink have a glazed pink interior and a slip design on the exterior which looks slightly like repeated exclamation marks, the green have two etched lines on the exterior.

pleased with this choice and is the right size for breakfast porridge portion. fits in with the rest of my china an extremely good deal ! All of the pieces are of top quality and very consistent in the finish . Each piece is very clean and uniform with NO distinguishable defects whatsoever . I highly recommend this for anyone interested in starting out with a China see that's a great value and would be able to compete with the big name brands any day . Definitely a great set for everyday use or even formal use Size: check. Oven resistance: check. Microwave, Freezer, and Dishwasher safe: check, check, and check again. This is a truly stunning tablewear set. Each piece is gorgeous on its own, but as a set it really stands out. Although my personal preference runs to the simple white plates and bowls. the pink and green are both lovely, too. Quality of the items is really good, they feel amazing in the hand.That's not to say there aren't issues. The main one is that several pieces arrived damaged, with one being completely destroyed in the box. The second issue is that the pink and green bowls are difficult to actually eat off of, because they are patterned. And finally the mugs aren't really mugs, as they are large and lack handles, but we just think of them as rice bowls and that's fine.Overall,

Each piece of this set is of high quality. They all look as you would expect and I didn't detect any flaws. There were no problems when using them or cleaning them. They are dishwasher and microwave save Full instructions are given.As others have said the packaging wasn't as food as you might expect. I'm not marking this product down due to that but for people who are actually buying this it could be an issue.This has impressed everyone who has used one of the porcelain bowls, plates or mugs.
