This is an inexpensive version of a mood light.I have a few Philips mood lights in my home. They are used to highlight special features and the larger ones used to create mood lighting for special occasions like dinner parties and family gatherings. The Philips mood lights cost an absolute fortune .. and I was reluctant to pay over £100 for more even though I wanted to, because I love the effects.This light is the answer to my prayers! This little bulb gives you the same colour range as the more expensive brand, at a fraction of the cost.You download the app from the Play Store and it is so simple to then control the lighting colour variation, hue and brightness.Mood lighting can completely change the colouring in your room.If you have light coloured walls you can change them to a beautiful hue of Violet, pink, blue, red, etc, the possibilities are endless), you can also get various shades of white and yellow.If you are having a special event these colour changes can completely alter the look of the room.I use this in the dining room where I have a single pendant light bulb. I wish I could also use it in my lounge but unfortunately I have chandelier type fittings so it has to go into a lamp where it doesn't really give the same effect as if it's in the centre of the room.It's a screw fitting, so if you have the ordinary bayonet lights you will need to buy an adaptor. I bought these adaptors online before but to be honest they looked a bit cheap and not very well made so I would be careful to get one to a British Standard, as you don't want to risk your expensive bulb falling out of the socket. Screw to bayonet converter so very cheap to buy.Back to the light, I am absolutely delighted with this bulb. I think it's actually better than the leading brand mood light because this can be placed in the centre of the room, in the ceiling, ensuring that the coloured lighting is uniformly spread over the whole room.You can also Bluetooth stream music or radio through the bulb and although the sound isn't ever going to sound like a normal speaker system it's still a nice feature.If you want to see the different effects you can get with mood lighting take a look at Instagram or just look up mood lighting. It really can completely transform a room.I think this lamp offers exceptional value. I would definitely buy this as a gift for somebody that entertains a lot. It's much more than just a teenagers novelty item. Using this you can give the look of a completely re decorated room in seconds totally changing the colour of the walls and creating ambience.I think this is an outstanding piece of kit and I absolutely love it.

Bought one of these from Maplin last week. It works well but there is a pretty big gotcha for those with devices running Android 7 if the bulb's firmware is old. My bulb was version 3.5 and my Android 7 device wouldn't connect to it, although my iPad was quite happy (obviously both using the relevant app).It was only reading the app information on the Google Play store that I discovered that there is an incompatibility with Android 7 and that you need to update the bulb's firmware with an Android device preceding 7 (the iPad app insists the firmware is up to date so I couldn't use that). Luckily I had an old phone running Android 5 so I downloaded the app onto that, and successfully upgraded the bulb's firmware to 3.8.This was a bit of a palaver.Now my Android 7 device is quite happy to talk to the bulb, so now I can sit at home and perplex the dog by fiddling with the brightness and colour!You can use multiple devices to control it but experimentation shows that you *must* exit the app on one device before using another.Additionally I was pleased to discover that the schedule is stored in the bulb and not on your phone or tablet so the app does not need to be active for the schedule to be active. I have yet to find out whether or not changing the colour/brightness interrupts the timer if you're between an on and off event.

These bulbs are good, however it seems to work flawlessly with my Samsung galaxy tab pro 10.1 (SM-T520) and not work well at all with my Huawei P8 lite (2017). I would imagine the blutooth module in the lights themselves aren't so good, and only work well with certain older blutooth modules in older devices, so probably not the app that's at fault. It does work perfectly with my tablet which I prefer using anyway as its easier to select the preferred colour on the colour wheel.The light is fairly bright and rich, but no way near as bright and rich as say a LIFX bulb. My brother has a LIFX bulb in his room, and it is amazingly bright and extremely rich in colour,but its too bright and I would never use full brightness on a LIFX bulb. However that said, a LIFX bulb is around £40 - £50 for one!, where as I got two of these for £30!! Which is very good value for money considering you get 2 bulbs that are an excellent balance between value and performance.The app allows for scheduling, I use this function to turn my lights on with my alarm in the morning and it's simple to set up and use. If you set it to blue on full brightness with your alarm, I swear you will not find it hard to get out of bed ever again, its amazing, especially in winter!

Colour changing lightbulbs are nothing special these days, but this one has a trick up its sleeve: because you can connect with Bluetooth to an app, you can access timer and calendar functions. So you can use it like a security light, which is what I've been doing. It's very useful when you want to have a ceiling light operate as a security light. You can set multiple times on whichever days of the week you like. And if you buy more of these bulbs, you can access them all from the app and have them come on at different times. You can set the colour too of course, and a fade-out period.The bulb is a stylish looking item. It gives a decent white light, about the brightness you'd need in a side table light.You can adjust the brightness and tone of the white light. You can also change the colour entirely by sliding your finger around a colour wheel. You can set favourite colours as 'moods'. I haven't found a way to make the colours continuously change by themselves as some of these lights do,The iOS app is easy enough to use and connects quickly to the bulb as long as you're in the same room.

What I really like about this bulb is its extremely bright, I've tried a few of these type of bulbs and even the Philips ones who started this all off. This one has proved to be the brightest out of them all and has better features like timer function great if you need to go out late and want your light to come on at a fixed time.You can set the colours and edit them to fine tune to your taste and lighten or darken the light to your taste. No need for dimmers with these babies they are everything in one. Remember to check your fitting type if you have the standard bayonet as I have then you will need an adapter which can cost £1-£3 depending where you buy it.Also the app you download is first class works a treat from bluetooth even asks if you want to allow it instead of having to switch on Bluetooth manually first, great.

A very attractive lighting effect for your home. I did have to buy a separate connector to convert it from a screw to bayonet for optimum placement but certainly feel it was worth doing so. The app is easy to upload and the accompanying instructions easy to follow. We've got it on a timer, the only problem being that we did have to 'cancel bulb' on the app and upload again because we couldn't set it up initially after playing around with the different settings. Second time around it worked fine.The colour spectrum is lovely and different colours can be set for different days which appeals to my sense of experimentation.All in all if you like different hues and fancy lighting effects as I do this bulb is a very good acquisition and I'll certainly be buying a couple more of them.

If you do not have a smartphone, then either do not buy this, or go out an buy a smartphone. Once you open the app it will find your light bulb via Bluetooth and now you become a Light Conductor. You now control light and you can conduct the changes to your room.The app allows you to schedule your light, countdown for it going off, dim it down for a special occasion, and mood presets. An infinite world of possibilities for your room.So make sure you have a smartphone,and a screw in light that will fit this slightly bulky lightbulb.

This is a very clever light, probably something you didn’t know existed, I know I didn’t.What you get is a single bulb, E27 fitting, works on any standard lamp, the bulb has bluetooth, that’s what makes it so different.There is an app that you download on your smart phone, one from Play store or Apple store, this controls the light.The app allows you to switch the light on, change the colour, have it flashing, even have music playing and the light flashes to the music. Really impressed and great fun.If you want the bulb will work as a stand white 7 watt light, On and off etc.This is a great fun light, something I never thought existed until trying it, so easy to use and set up, do you need one,probably not, do I reckon you should get one, yep.

Very simple, effective and high quality bulb which is controlled via a free app for your phone. Once installed, the app allows you to turn the bulb on and off, set a timer for it to come on, and also change the colour of the bulb. I was impressed by the fantastic range of colours and also very impressed with the quality of the app which is well designed and easy to use. Often you find that products are let down by poor apps however this is not the case. The light emitted by this bulb is just bright enough and the bulb is energy efficient and will last ages as its LED. You can also add other bulbs to be controlled by the app. I've knocked a star off for the price which seems a tad high

The product is fairly straightforward, is very easy to put in a socket and download the app, however, the app itself struggles to find the bulb at times. It found it the first time when I installed it but later the iPhone couldn't seem to locate it. After deleting and reinstalling the app, it seems to work but I suspect iPhone may be the issue as it has the same issues with a similar brand.I installed in my bathroom. The lighting is very similar to another brand which sells bulbs at £70 a pop, so this is a nice alternative. I like using coloured light to help relax and soothe me, and having blue or purple lights while bathing really helps with headaches.

Works very well!I've previously used another (THESUPERLEGENDS(TM) Bluetooth LED Light Bulb) bluetooth enabled multicolour bulb, which was fine, but had connectivity issues, the colours looked a bit off and the app was very 'Beta'.However, no such issues with this one - everything works, you can get a wider range of colours, and the app is polished.Also, the app is very clever. You can programme the bulb to turn itself on as a timer, so that it will come on at particular times of day. I thought this would be ideal if we go away on holiday, but it could also be used as a sunrise lamp or a bunch of other uses.All in all a great bit of kit!

Interesting concept- this is a low energy bulb that can be dimmed and which is also programmable. First we downloaded the IOS app for Iphone (there's also one for Android) and then installed the light bulb. The app allows us to not only schedule when we wish to turn it on and off, making it handy for when we're away, but to choose the colour we wish to have the light (I guess for entertainment purposes). I don't see us making much use of the colour changing feature, but being dimmable and able to set a schedule for it it to be turned off and on while out are a definite plus and has been handy.

This is such a good little gadget!! And so much cheaper than the wifi alternatives available.I used it as a standard bedside lamp but also set the schedule to wake me up in the mornings with an intense blue light. And when i'm winding g down for the day i but setting the timer up with a red light that fades out over the course of half and hour or so.It's really helped me keep to a steady sleep cycle.The white led light mode is quite bright but can also be set to a warmer hue and all the colours can be set a a darker or brighter intensity.

I put this in my spare bedroom as that is the only room with a screw light fitting, but it's the perfect place because of all the weird photos and other pictures on the wall. The bulb works great, just as advertised, so easy and the colour changing is great.I've shown a few people and they all love it, probably not something you'd want in your living room but in a bedroom or other room it can create some unique moods.

Great product ! I did buy elsewhere but thought I'd leave a review on here for everybody considering. Really easy to use with a quality app - I personally especially like the timer function so I can set the product up to turn on / off when I am away as I travel a lot with work.Great product for a fraction of the cost of the others in the market , plus it's good for the environment !
