A light went in my Smeg double oven. Rather than take it out first I stupidly looked at my manual and noted it was supposed to be a screw fit bulb and that Serveast Direct (they are main supplier of Smeg parts in the UK) had said bulb in stock - listed as being correct for my model of oven. So I bought a few as spares and tried to fit one. Noooo! Turns out both ovens have Osram G9 socket bulbs! So I had to then search for a G9 of the correct wattage and specified for oven use. Thank goodness this could be found on Amazon. Due to where this fits in the oven ist is a little bit of a fiddle to get it lined up but once that's sorted it clicks into place nicely. It gives a decent amount of light and looks to be working nicely.

I had misgivings about buying this from the internet as there seems to be two types of this bulb, one meant to stand the high heats of an oven and one not. It seemed many people were selling the cheaper non-oven version as the more expensive oven bulb. I got no reply to several requests to Osram for information on how to identify a genuine bulb. In the end I just had to take a punt and I did with a bulb from the 'Lightbulb company'. It arrived with all the seemingly correct printing on the bulb, looked right and after several months in the oven is still working. So far, so good and no complaints. The price was good at around £7.00.Edit: Lasted one year before dying.

It was a dark and a miserable life for the roast chicken in a bag,the pork loin and aunt Bessie's chunky chips. All was lost in the realm of whirlpool till a brave adventurer from a far away warehouse arrived in a skoda octavia with a gem stolen from OSRAM the dragon. This gem contained the fire of OSRAM itself and once offered to the 220v altar in the centre of whirlpool a magnificent 40w light spread throughout the kingdom.The dark ages were over. The renaissance had began. A new band of heros emerged the pasta bake, chicken chargrill , pepperoni pizza and their leader, dine in for 2 indian curry. But that's a tale for another day when .... OSRAM returns.

When our cooker engineer informed us that we required a special halogen bulb for the oven working at upto 400ºC we were told it could cost a tidy sum to replace all 4 as they were on the same circuit.These main brand replacements fit like a glove and have since been tested at just under 375ºC for a good few hours in just the first day I will be ordering more just because of the price and keep them in our repair stores.Another big plus is they were delivered in under 3 days which for a non Amazon parcel is excellent as they are reliant on RM to get their end done

Bought for a Stoves gas oven, manual of which had no information about which bulb to get as a replacement, but after some searching on line and comparing products with the old bulb, this seemed the most suitable. It's very bright, which makes seeing things cooking in the oven much easier. A bit fiddly to fit as halogen bulbs are very delicate and you have to push them in quite firmly, but if you have a halogen light in your oven, you have to accept this. I understand that the latest ovens use standard screw in bulbs: much more sensible!

If you own a Hotpoint Model: SA2840PIX Oven then you will note that the official Bulb they sell (£20.99) is outrageously priced as is of no better quality than any other oven bulb.This bulb is an OSRAM branded bulb which is considered the best bulb supplier world wide, it fitted perfectly and i think it is slightly brighter than the original bulb at a fraction of the price.Delivery was very quick although the packaging wasn't great to secure a bulb from breaking the inner bulb box was very squashed but the bulb was intact.

I couldn’t fit it very well with my hands, so my wife fitted it and it was pretty simple to do. For the money, it looks as if it’s a great purchase and will hopefully last a good year or so.***REMEMBER- do not touch the bulb with your fingers etc, as the moisture from this can make the bulb break when it’s hot! Use a tissue or surgical gloves etc, to handle the bulb. The reason why some people complain about the bulbs blowing straight away, is normally down to it being handled incorrectly***

I am no stranger to DIY and it was straight forward selecting the right lamp as a replacement for our oven. It was a bit awkward to fit and the lamp legs being soft are prone to bending when pushing home in the fitting. But I managed it and it works, so all is good until the next time, as in my experience these types of lamp don't last long in use as oven lamps, not the fault of the lamp maker but the selection by the oven manufacturer.

It was cheap and it does its single job well.Only thing I would caution is that the packaging isn't great and you need to be very careful not to touch the glass with your hands, otherwise the oil on your hands will cause the bulb to prematurely fail. Given how finnicky the packaging is, it's a little tricky to get it out without touching the glass so do take care.

First time I've ever had to replace an oven bulb, so I was a bit unsure when looking at all the options. This didn't match the model number I had exactly (for a Smeg SC436X-8) but it seemed like exactly the right one so I went for it. Glad I did - it is clearly marked FOR OVEN USE on the box, I fitted it in seconds, and it's lighting up my oven better than ever.

The products arrived 2 days earlier so that is great.It it arrived in a bubble wrap envelope, though the boxes were squashed. The lightbulbs (25W and 40W) are in perfect working condition. I only installed the 40W one for now and it is very bright.I would definitely recommend these products. In case the burn prematurely I will come back and edit the review.

Bought this as the light in my Stoves cooker gave up the ghost. Great item, works well. Can’t really comment on longevity but so far so good. My only criticism is the delivery packaging as it arrived in a padded envelope. The box holding the light was completely crushed, luckily the bulb was still in one piece. I’d recommend a sturdier packaging style.

Bought for use in an aeg competence cooker. Half the price of other suppliers. Works perfectly. Note all these bulbs are rated to 300 deg c and this cooker has a heat cleaning option. I will take out the bulb when I next do this as I believe this cooker gears to about 500 deg c. I believe this is why the original bulb blew so quickly after purchase.

Seems to be a genuine Osram bulb at a good price and delivered when they said they would. It says its a Halogen Halopin ® Oven Standard 40W 490lm 66740 - 2700K - 230V G9 Special 2 years CB4310100 G10591546 UV Filter 14mm dia by 43mm long including the pins with > 200 deg C printed on one of the inside flaps on the bottom of the box.

Direct replacement of original bulb in AEG oven, fitted straight in & works as expectedWhy are these so energy inefficient though when the rest of the cooker is very efficient?The bulb is overpackaged - both a box & plastic inner sleeve & Osram need to attend to both these issues in these environmentally sensitive times
