After much searching I decided to buy this bulb. I didn't want to get a hub - what is the point of another gadget…I was a little concerned that this bulb would not be bright enough to light up my sitting room, which is about 10 x 12', but it is more than bright enough. Even with the winter weather and dark skies I haven't had it on a hundred percent brightness. From reading reviews I expected it would take some time to set up but I set it up in minutes for Alexa. Minutes later I had it connected to my iPhone home kit.I now have an Alexa routine for bedtime that switches everything off in my sitting room. I have MS so I don't always feel like getting up to switch the light on or off.Now I can just ask Siri - thanks to the iPhone integration. And on top of that I can set the brightness according to the brightness outside.I haven't had any issues with connection that are to do with the bulb itself. The first issue I had was that my voice commands stopped working but that was because my husband had switched the light off at the wall!! The socket that the bulb is in has always been a bit loose so I lost connection one day because of that. The bulb itself is very stable and responsive.I am using a smart plug to control my bedroom lamp but I will definitely get another of these bulbs for that lamp. I will find another use for the plug I'm sure. I wondered whether I should have bought the day to dusk version but I certainly don't need it for my sitting room but might consider it for my bedroom lamp.

Amended review from 2 to 4 stars. If only proper instructions were attainable from the start this would not have been as painful. As a last ditched attempt after around the 30th time of resetting etc over the course of a few days, I removed the Alexa skill for Lifx, deleted the bulb from the lifx cloud account, did the off-on five times at the switch to reset the bulb and then the only thing I did differently during re-pairing was that I forced my cell phone onto the 2.4Ghz wifi during the pairing process. Once the lightbulb was paired I reinstalled the Lifx Alexa skill, reconnected my phone to my 5Ghz wifi and the bulb has now been connected for three days straight.(It wouldn't stay connected for more than a couple of hours before).Original review.Bulb itself is good and functionality awesome WHEN connected, the issue is keeping it connected to the cloud. Despite repeated resets, removing device, re-adding device, separating the frequency on my router and ensuring it is connected to the 2.4Ghz, it will NOT stay connected to the cloud for more than a few hours therefore rendering it not only infuriating but useless with Alexa; sending back.

These were half price as Amazon special offers. Bought two - for hall and landing. Excellent light that can be adjusted to suit the location. The new LEDs in the cloakroom are too bright and adjustment would have been useful. Initially set up on Apple Home. But this is best for voice control. I have now set them up on the LIFX app. This enables me to set up schedules. The app also allows me to turn off bits of the schedule or to over ride it. It took me a while to work out the best settings. There is plenty of very clear support from LIFX online. Good step by step images. And the English is easy to understand. Having the Wi-fi on the bulb suits me better than having to buy a bridge as well.In our bedroom there are four light fittings that these bulbs would fit. I could be quite tempted to experiment with some of the dearer bulbs. But I am probably too mean!! Delighted so far. Set them up and tested for 24 hours then put bulbs into ceiling lights. Probably the last time I will ever touch the ceiling lights.

I bought two of these on prime day and they are brilliant, very easy to install, took a few minutes for both and have never failed to respond to my demands. I bought another brand for my bedroom and was fed up of Alexia telling me 'bedroom light is not responding' so I ordered another one of these, Just installed it and it again took a few minutes and works perfectly. Brilliant dimmable lights in a nice soft warm white that don't keep losing the wi-fi connection. They're not the cheapest but sometimes you get what you pay for. The other cheaper brand bulb I bought from Dyas is going in the bin so complete false economy there.I must say that I really don't understand the negative reviews on here, these are simplicity itself to install.

My first venture into smart lighting, and so far very impressed with ease & speed of set-up, app very intuitive (was pleasantly surprised it allows for scheduling, a feature i didn't know they had), and excellent quality. Main attraction was doesn't need a hub and direct control from my Harmony remote - don't know of any others that do? Yes they can get expensive for the fancy colour ones, but this is of no interest to me, so their bog standard white mini bulb is cheap at £15. Only wish they also did a stand alone module using the same technology, similar to the Fibaro ones, so i can incorporate them in my other existing listing circuits that use G9 and GU10 bulbs (yes i know they do a GU10 but its huge, ugly and expensive!).

Works with Apple HomeKit and Google Home or just use the LIFX app. It does not require a hub and was super simple to install. No tech knowledge required. I bought 3 then bought 4 more within 48hrs.You could probably find cheaper light bulbs out there but if, like me, all you want are smart solutions that integrate with your lifestyle seamlessly and hassle free then LIFX is the way to go. I’ve watched friends trying to purchase smart lights from ikea or online and frankly it gave me a headache trying to figure out where to spend my money.I did the research and tried out these LIFX bulbs because they were on special and now I’ve kitted out the entire house with 2 follow up purchases.

Pleased with light. Easy to dim using phone app. Can light up/turn off. Also light on/off via Alexa Dot.Following instructions were not that clear (for me) installing on phone.Sure if I bought another it will be easier second time around. Though it took me two attempts to get it working. Would be helpful if instructions were clear and printed with the bulb. I had two pages open on phone, (instructions and app) and flipped between both when trying to install.I’m 69 so sure younger people may find it easier, though worked for 50 years on computers and various programmes so not totally unfamiliar.I have friends who I know would struggle.

The light switch needs to stay "ON "constantly for using. If the switch setting is OFF then the device is unresponsive and Alexa cant adjust it. When ON Alexa can turn it off for you as and when needed.Ours is used in a teenagers bedroom and he is very pleased with it. Works well with Alexa and you can tell her to adjust the brightness (eg 70% , 25%, 10% 82% or 56% or on/ off completely etc )Also from the Alexa app you can choose the shade of light (5 available)▪︎Warm white ▪︎Soft white ▪︎White ▪︎Daylight white OR ▪︎Cool white. Can also set routines so the light turns on/off at set brightness , set at certain times for

I now have three of these bulbs. They were really simple to setup, the bulbs are automatically found by your WiFi and then controlled via the LIFX app where you can set them up.The LIFX app is clean and simple, you can set up a number of different situations for your lights to come on and off and control the brightness settings. These bulbs are also compatible with Apple Home and IFTTT adding further customisation options.I recently changed WiFi providers, resetting the bulbs to work with my router was extremely simple.I would happily recommend these to anyone who is thinking of picking up smart bulbs.

When you have a small disability and wearing a knee brace, you can either fiddle around in the dark or with a torch trying to adjust everything and get comfortable because until light switch is in another part of the room. Or you can leave the light on through the night and never sleep. How brilliant is this. Plugged in and the Android app picked up the new bulb and configured to WiFi.Setup in Google Home was somewhat undocumented and you needed to add a new device selecting LIFX. The rest is straight forward. 20 minutes tops to setup compared to the Phillips Hue.Time will tell how reliable it is.

If, like me, your location prevents the use of a mobile phone (middle of the Cambrian Mountains) then it will come as a pleasant surprise to find that the LIFX app actually downloads and installs onto the Kindle Fire Tablet. I was not able to find any other "Smart Home" app which does. These apps are essential to set up the majority of the lamps which are offered on Amazon but LIFX is the only one that can work on the Amazon service - and can also intergrate with Alexa.Extremely easy to set up and then intergrate, perhaps a little bit pricey but do work.

I bought the B22 bulb to test it out and see how it performs, got it connected and set up in about ten minutes. Very pleased so far, there's no noise or flickering coming from the bulb and it's a nice warm white colour temperature. I chose the LIFX bulbs over the Philips Hue bulbs because I didn't want a seemingly unnecessary hub controlling them. I've got mine working with my Google Home assistant. Has worked perfectly since I bought it. The LIFX app is very easy to use and I'll be getting another bulb for the sitting room very soon. Very impressed.

My own personal opinion, and experience:I must like these, as I have just added to the two I purchased some time ago. I use them to replace standard 60W UK bayonet bulbs.Relatively easy set-up. Occasionally they don't act as expected, but a quick update (if there is one), usually fixes any issues, or a reset.I love the fact that you can set the light level. I set my hall light to 30% overnight, and this is plenty bright enough for my small hallway. I set my double bedroom at 75% and rarely adjust it.

This device is great. The bonus with this light bulb to others like it, is that it doesn't require a hub. The bulb connects directly to your device via WiFi. So unlike my previous bulbs that required a device to send receive signals and be connected via ethernet to the hub.. This bulb doesn't. Simple to use. Just stick the bulb in, dl the LIFX app and connect to your home device. Then you can control the light via your device by voice or by app control. No need for switch or dimmer anymore.

Bought these to replace a cheaper set of Wifi bulbs that, whilst they worked flawlessly with Alexa, were just too dim as a pair in the livingroom at 450 lumens of brightness. These work perfectly and give a much brighter, warmer light to the room.Once connected to Alexa they respond quickly but were a bit of a faff to get set-up in the first place, possibly because we have dual 2.4GHz and 5GHz signals. Temporarily switching off the latter helped a bit.Overall , well worth the money.
