For any real UFC fan this game is finally the MMA fighter we have been waiting for. Do not pick up this game expecting an exact simulation of the sport but a game which in my opinion wisely blends some of the best aspects of previous UDC titles, acrade fighters and the fight night series. This is a solid entry into the combat sport arena which I think will provide an excelletn platform for future titles to work from. It is admittedly rather lacking when played offiline but is a game that excels once too humans go toe to toe. The game is easy to pick up but requires some work to master as each situation provides you with multiple options and allows you to really develop your own fighting style.EA appear to have really developed this game from an online aspect, removing the need to rotate your analog sticks till your hands bleed and controllers break, instead creating a system which relies on timing and your knowledge of the sport.Mastering the stand up is key but don't ignore the clinch or ground game because there is a lot there to appreciate and mastering the latter will provide you with a serious advantage over a large percentage of other players.Having played all UFC games to date and even EA MMA (plus the fight night franchise) its just a relief to finally play online and not, as yet, encounter exploits, button spamming or the same OP fighter over and over again. What for me is the best aspect of this game is that if you keep your cool, time your attacks and manage your stamina you will on the whole beat the button spamming, exploit searching gamers that win and troll the online community with their 'impressive' records. There is still work to be done so I suppose I could give this a lower score but having read a few reviews I wanted to bring some balance to the process. I spotted a bad review because someone was struggling against legs kicks, due if they are attacking the same area block low (R2 + X or O)and counter. Or flick the left stick away to get out of range, if your front leg gets too hurt press the right directional button and switch stance..........this example alone provides an insight to the depth of what appears to be initially a simplistic fighter.

OK, so I didn't buy this game from Amazon and didn't expect a Bruce Lee code in my email, so there are no complaints from me about that.First off, I'm a huge MMA and boxing fan, and have trained a bit in both (though not for a few years.) I've played Fight Night but no MMA games before, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this title. My initial impression was that there's quite a lot to learn. The game immediately presents you with a tutorial, and for good reason. There are so many kicks and punches to learn how to execute, there are different takedowns, submissions, and most aspects of the MMA game are accounted for in the fighting mechanics here. The diversity of the movements means that you really do need to train the combos and memorise the button presses required to stand a chance against higher level competition. The systems for grappling and submissions seem to work really well. They're not exactly realistic, but it works and although I'm primarily a striker, I've had good fun so far defending against the wrestlers and submission artists. In career mode I'm still fighting on the prelims (suffered a couple of nasty KO losses that have set me back) but it's very enjoyable and for the first time in years I had that "just going to play 10 more minutes" feeling at 2am while barely able to keep my eyes open.My complaints so far are pretty insignificant. Aside from one extremely annoying crash I don't have much bad to say about the game. (I was losing on points, then damn near took this guy's nose off. The ref was just considering stopping the fight when the game closed and an error report showed up). There are small details like no touching of gloves before a fight that I noticed and was slightly disappointed by, but it's one of those games where even though I can tell it's not perfect, I've still had a hell of a lot of fun playing. Also, it was great fun playing as Anderson Silva and repeatedly side-kicking Jon Jones in the ribs until he dropped to the floor.

The main thing that has impressed me with the game is the graphics, the body deformation is really life like and I find the AI is better than in the UFC Undisputed games (as EA has been pushing when promoting the game). This game is not for the button bashers! You have to use different combinations to get desired results, like in real life, instead of just hitting anything and everything hoping to get a KO. The controls can be a bit unresponsive at times, in sprawls, slips and some of the submission and clinch work, but follow a basic rule of being easy to play but hard to master. I like the commentary,as yet I don't think I have heard the same thing said twice and it does give a real vibe of being there live especially with Joe Rogan's response to KO's and damaging shots. The career mode does get a bit samey with similar training routines and cut scenes between every fight, but there is only so many you can have in a game otherwise it will just load slow (which this game does already). The create-a-fighter mode is very limited in terms of customisation and is something that needs to be expanded.I would love to see the inclusion of many UFC legends like Bas Rutten, Dan Severn, Brock Lesnar, Ken Shamrock, Mark Coleman, Royce Gracie (non DLC) etc. to give people a chance to see where the UFC has come from and maybe relive some epic old school moments, as well as a more in depth current roster (top 25-30 in each division?).Overall this game is great which is why I have given it 4*. As ever there is room for improvement that EA can look to achieve but I am impressed since this is their first game in association with UFC. I feel is an improvement on previous instalments of the Undisputed games. This is a good foundation to build onto a new game in the future and I look forward to what is released is the years to come.*I did pre-order this game and my Bruce Lee pre-order code came via e-mail in the early hours of release date and Bruce Lee is awesome!!

The re-awakening of EA's UFC titles - simply titled EA Sports UFC. The title isn't the only thing that's simple. EA has pared back almost everything in the game, meaning the game doesn't provide much in the ways of alternative game modes - this is somewhat disappointing, of course. But, you can't stay disappointed for long.Although somewhat buggy, EA have turned the combat system in this game into pure art. Punches feel meaty, kicks are spine-shattering. You'll not only see characters wince in pain, you'll also see the point of contact ripple, muscles twitch and sweat fly. There are some quirks, but in general the game is extremely well animated and controls are excellent. In the campaign you'll be rail-roaded through a bunch of fights eventually leading to a title shot.If you lose your title you'll be offered repeat attempts and finally a fight with the top fighter in another weight division - known as a superfight. In between matches you can partake in training mini-games to enhance your character to help them better survive fights - to better survive their career. The final nail in the coffin for your fighter is the accumulation of damage over the course of your career. You can't just run in and smash the punch button until the opponent falls, you need to be more tactical. You need to block the small hits and dodge the big ones. This helps make the campaign mode fun and re-playable as you may not achieve your goals first time around. One strange thing I found is that you can create your own character - but only if it's male. This wouldn't be so strange if they hadn't already included female fighters in the game - they have, you just can't create one.All-in, this is an excellent UFC Video Game and I can only look forward to how it is expanded upon in the next entry.

My most played game on the PS4, I love it.Playing online is where it is most satisfying and the ranking system is superb so you will always match up with someone the same skill level as you. Fights can be pretty unpredictable at times but upsets happen in the real UFC too. People will complain about spammers but if you have learned the controls it is pretty easy to put their lights out with a few smart parries/counters. I personally didn't play much of the career mode as I didn't care for building a weak character into a champion for him only to retire, plus it is more satisfying playing a human rather than AI opponents.Pros:Graphics are exceptional. The character roster is massive.Online ranking/match making is fair.Combat system is great once you have learned controls/pace (especially since latest update).Presentation/music is slick and suits the UFC brand.Negatives:Learning curve; if you want to compete online then expect to learn the ropes or you will end up stiff on the canvas. The game is more rewarding when you know what you are doing.Lag online; this occurs if you or your opponent has a weak internet connection. Luckily I have not experienced it very much.Game modes; A bit on the short side but I get what I want from the game, If I could add one mode it would be to fight a career in the shoes of an actual UFC fighter rather than a guy I have created.Overall a solid 9/10 from me. I am more than happy to have this game in my library and I am sure it will be a long time before I leave it lying long enough for the dust to settle.

My top 3 MMA games,1, EA UFC2. Undisputed 33. Pride FC for PS2This truly is a next gen game. The graphics are insane, the game play while not flawless is none the less an improvement on all the other games in this genre. I went over a friends house and played Undisputed 3 with him and got my ass kicked because it was like playing a game of pong compared to EA's golden goose. The fighters have amazing likeness and are very detailed, EA have really outdone it this time. The best thing about this game has got to be the level of support the devs are committing to this game. Since its launch we have had 5 updates for improved gameplay mechanics and additional fighters at no extra charge and another update coming in December with 4 "Legends".I cant think of any other game that has done this.If you like MMA / Boxing or just enjoy fighting games, do yourself a favour and buy this game.

I tried the demo and thought the game was poor. But with a draught of games, and finding myself board with nothing play I replayed the demo a few more times. The more I played the better it got so decided to give the full game a try. The demo does not give the game justice. The more you play the more you learn and it gets better. It's a great game with some amazing fights .The graphics are fantastic some characters look better than others. But have got to say they are near photorealistic especially Chuck Liddell. I have played all the previous ufc games and this one is the most fluid and realistic. There are some moves that aren't in this that are in the old games. But this is ea's first attempt .I'm sure the sequel will adress the issues . For a first attempt it's a great game with room for minor improvements.

EA Sports UFC is not for quick play button bashers! The game play will take time and training (just like in real life). This might put you off? If so this is not the game for you! If you are a true UFC fan and Martial arts practitioner you will appreciate and enjoy this game once you get into it, the striking and stand up game is particularly in depth and very good (similar to EA MMA on the ps3). I have only given this game 4 stars as I feel there could have been a few extra game modes also the submission system puts up an octagon so big on the screen you do not get to enjoy the visuals of the submission as much as I would like to,that aside a new decent MMA next gen game is here waiting for you.

Awesome game, wether your knocking someone out, or getting the pasting of your life, the intensity of the octagon is captured brilliantly in this game! But as for all games, this has some pro's and cons.Pro'sBrilliant fighting systemIntenseAmazing graphicsCharacter creation (with EA game face)Nice touch with personal videos from the real stars if the UFCCon'sSlow loading timesTraining between fights in career mode can get a little repetetiveSome controls don't seem to be consistent when slipping or transitioning. That being said, This is one of the best fighting games I have ever played on any platform, highly reccomended!

Best game on the PS4 at the time of release. I've had most games on the console since launch and I'm not an out and out follower of MMA but this truly is a stand-out title. It suits those who only have time for 'pick up and play' or those who want to invest time in a game. The graphics are definitely the best seen yet on a Sony console and it has completely smooth gameplay with no lag points.Only downside is loading times. Can take longer to load a fight than the actual fight itself. All in all good fun, single player Multiplayer. Definitely recommend.

16.7.2016

As a relative newcomer to the UFC scene, I was intrigued by the game and to be perfectly honest I am not disappointed by this game. This is of course a little older title for the PS4 so doesn't have some of the more up to date stars such as Rhonda or Connor but this doesn't real matter as the game is pretty good to play. The moves can be a little bit tricky to master but once you get the hang of it it is really enjoyable game to play - much better than the WWE titles.

24.6.2014

Good fun to play a bit slow to start with and takes a while to get used to the controls (still not there yet)my only problem is the submission mini game very difficult to master. The graphics are excellent and the knockouts are great. The career mode is much better as well starting out at the bottom and having to win yourself a contract.Really worth the money I have spent hours playing and I am still not bored

16.3.2015

i hated the demo of this game, but the price came down so i gave it another go and i am so glad i did. sure its got its problem but most games do, once you get to grips with the controls though this game will have you playing for hours and hours, the womens division could have been better and the ability to make a female fighter would have been nice but still a nice fighting game

2.9.2014

If your a fan of mma you rely can't go wrong with this game! There is lots of things to learn in the game so when you do learn them all there's a sense of achievement, so when you do play you won't lose to any silly submission/ground and pound/stand up because you dont know how to defend it and when you have your opponent caught you can take full advantage of them!
