Before I start, I am not blowing Turtle Beach's trumpet at all. I personally only got a pair slightly before my friend's and they were PX22's (they are a heavyweight stereo headset mind you). I ordered these for a friend whose tinny 360 headset is broken (considering that those Microsoft ones are overpriced, tinny and quite flimsy). I bought these for him and after a long wait for the adapter peripheral (which should come with all headsets mind you, an extra 8 quid for an important item), he put these on and said that it felt like a cinema experience. While these ones don't come with the in-line mixer with the bass and treble like the PX22 and the like come with, Turtle Beach really mix the sound well without them, with good treble and lashings of bass (Personally, a bass bias here. A must if you like your FPS's). The one gripe I do have is that the mic, although flexible, is still quite rigid to me. Maybe if it had a more looser cable, then I would give it full props. (If you do buy this headset, behind the speakers in the packaging, there is a turtle beach sticker....thank me later)(another thing: Amazon should be more specific with what colour you would be getting. Some people can be picky, luckily I wasn't one of them.)

I got these as a birthday present for my 18th, and at first was a little confused with how they actually work (there was no instructions manual). Luckily it doesn't take a genius to figure out how to plug them in, you have a wire that goes into the xbox controller, two wires for the back of the TV, and that's pretty much it. You have the option to change the volume of the game and the voice chat (both of which will come through the headset). When playing online you can hear other players walking around, and sounds you wouldn't normally hear through the TV when playing a game. However there are a few negative points. If you wear them for too long (in my case 6 hours straight)your ears will get very sore and go red, it could possibly lead to some sort of ear infection. Make sure no one runs through your room when your using them because (for me) they stretched all the way from the tv to my bed (about 20 steps). They can be a hazard, so be sure to rap them up or put them in a box/container after using to keep them safe. Overall, for a very cheap price I found this headset to be very reliable, despite the after affects of course

My 11 Year Old son is delighted with these. He had some Birthday Cash to spend, a friend of his did buy them from our local shop (Smyths Ireland), this Amazon Purchase with free delivery to Ireland (I bought a FEW THINGS) did work out a fair bit cheaper, amazing the Quality of sound, you can hear things you could not hear before (Modern Warfare, Black Op's etc).Voice is better also for XBOX LIVE PLAY with his muckeroo's, great control over sound as volume is on Box at your hand. He had the original Headset that came with his XBOX 360, no comparison, I had planned to get these for Xmas so happy he spent his own money wisely. I did not need the Adaptor as I just plugged the Audio Pins straight into the 32" TV Side Audio connectors which were unused,HDMI Cable for XBOX straight into HDMI, no need for me to spend an extra few quid! Also very well made, as well lad's his age still tend to chuck stuff around the place no matter how often you ask them to take care of their things, these should fair better than the flimsy efforts supplied with the 360.

The sound aspect of this headset is great. It creates a totally different gaming experience being able to hear slight noises that would have never been possible just by listening through TV speakers. The mic however isn't that great and sometimes sounds muffled when spoken into but it does have the option to mute it which is very helpful. Along with the ability to mute the mic it has the option to adjust the 'game' and 'chat' volumes separately, its great when you don't want to hear people whining and just want to hear the sound of the game. The headphones are very comfortable and aren't that heavy so when you lean your head forward they feel secure.I would recommend these to the novice-intermediate gamers, the real hardcore gamers I would definitely say go for the newer turtle beaches as they do provide a superior sound quality and mic quality compared to these.Overall it's a good buy and good value for money, it does the job and makes gaming more fun.

I'm not really one for writing reviews on Amazon but I am compelled to tell you that these things are amazing.I just splashed out on Halo 4 and felt now was the time to invest in some Turtle Beaches having heard amazing reviews, I opted for the entry level ones as I was unsure about how I'd get on with them. I now know why people rave about themAs previous reviewers have stated, you really do hear things you did't know existed. I would describe myself as a very average FPS player - I'm not obsessed with k/d spread and just enjoy playing - until I got these. I have become uber-competitive now and I honestly believe the TB's have had a major influence in this.My girlfriend is also very happy about not going to bed to the sound of gunfire. One very slight criticism, the lead is excessively long - but for some this would be a positive.5/5 every time here - I'm absolutely upgrading when they either break or I get bored of the wires.

I got these to complement my Black Ops 2 gaming. They were fantastic. As far as gaming headsets go, these are the good quality for the price you are paying! (I think I paid £22). Well worth it if you want a set and are not willing to pay the huge prices that other headsets command. The problems I found with this headset are:(1) While your controller is plugged in, when you speak, your mic will emit a buzzing noise other players will hear. (You can solve this by plugging the USB of the headset into a USB slot not on your Xbox.(2) There is a lot of cabling and it gets everywhere. If you like everything to look tidy, look for a wireless headset.(3) These are not fully surround sound (and in their defense they do not claim to be)- keep this in mind, however, as you cannot hear exactly which direction sounds are coming from. You may find this to become a problem when playing competitive Call of Duty, for instance.

Any remotely serious gamer needs to hear the enemy approaching. These do the job well. They do need a spare USB socket to power them, and they use phono plugs to carry sound. If you can work with those two caveats then these will suit you. I'm using these with a jack-to-phono lead so I can simply hear ANYTHING through the TV with them, not just my XBox (which also has teh required USB.Two minor things, annoyances rather then problems. Being slightly OCD on these things, the in-line volume control box-thingy never seems to lay flat with the writing facing upwards. Additionally, the socket to plug the (supplied) cable from the control-box to the XBox pad is located nearer to the Game volume control then the Chat volume control.I personally find it confusing to turn the nearest dial to the voice cable to control the game volume.

If you are on a budget and you need a good headset for gaming that isn't the turtle beach XLC's then this product is definitely worth it as it provides nice sound quality that helps you become more immersed in the game yet doesn't prevent you from hearing say the door knock or parents calling for dinner (which believe me is a problem with other headsets) but that does mean it lets noise in but it doesn't phase me too much. One problem is that it isn't specified what the cables come like (1 usb and red and white audio rca cables) but as a disclaimer YOU DO NEED THE RCA ADAPTER IF YOU PLAY ON HDMI and if you need to use these for pc you need an rca to 3.5mm headphone jack converter which luckily I had one lying around that came with my TV.In short if you don't have very much the give these a though

Bought these together with the 5.1/7.1 DSS box, and after a little while to set it up all was good. There's lots of wires and as the other reviews have stated you need the extra adapter to use with HDMI, but I had one in my xbox box anyway.Sound quality is excellent and while I'm not sure you get proper surround sound feeling, after a while getting used to them, you do get a sense of direction from them. The sounds you pick up from games is unbelievable, you hear things you didn't know where in the game. The build quality is good, apart from one obvious fault. For some reason the material they use on the ear pieces leaves a black mark around your ears. So as long as you wash before going out, you're ok - otherwise you may get some funny looks! For that reason I'm knocking a star off.

after my turtle beach xlc broke i decided to get a new turtle beach headset. I was deciding what to get the turtle beach x12 or turtle beach xl1.After two daYS of research, i found out that the only differcene between the x12 and xl1 is that the x12 has active and passive bass boost button and its compatible on the pc. while the xl1 has a fixed bass boost and it is only for xbox. so i decided to get the xl1 because there cheaper and i needed to buy a new controller lol. if you have used the turtle beach x11 or the xlc you will hear a massive differece in sound quality. This is due to the 50 mm speakers.the turtle beach are light and comfortbale for hours of gaming.this headset is bascially the combination of the xlc and the x12.amazing headset i would recommend it to all gamers

I wanted a cheap headset to play Call of Duty on my xbox. Sometimes I play later in the evening and don't want to wake people up, including the neighbours. Great headset for price and I'm really satisfied with them. Yeah so there's a great long wire going across your living room but I didn't want to fork out for a wireless headset so I can live with that.If you're the type who likes to listen to chat but not talk yourself, I just wanted to mention the chat volume on the headset control will not adjust the chat volume unless the other black cable is plugged into your controller and the headset. If the black 'mic' wire is unplugged only the game volume with work when you adjust it.At first I thought the chat volume wheel was broken on mine until I figured this out.

This headset is quality a cheap perfect buy!!!The sound quality is great me and my friends are finding our gaming experience a lot easier. It's perfect if you want to be a mlg gamer.Sadly this headset is not good for a hd tv if you have not ordered it and you are thinking of buying for a hd tv MAKE SURE you get a av adapter cable for only about £4.29.I enjoy using this headset as I can here my game through them. You can here things you do not usually here if you are housing normal volume on your tv.The best game for this headset is mw3, I would also like to recommend another product, the ax.1 afterglow remote controll also for the Xbox. By the way I am not American and I don't sit on my Xbox all day long eating cheeseburgers.I EAT PIE

Bought this headset when my turtle beach headset broke, My previous headset was £150 though as mine broke so close to christmas i couldnt go splashing that out on myself just yet, So i thought id buy these until i can afford a better set. I now don't think ill buy another headset until these break as they are just as good as my old headset however not as comfy. I have big ears (not dumbo sized, man sized) and the holes for the ears are not that big i simply just made the bigger by cutting them and now they are fine, no other faults with this head set.. (for the xbox 360 you need the adapter if you plan on using the HDMI cable to your tv,i already had one from my previous headset but for those that don't know you do need one)

These headphones feel well made, and the 16ft cable means you can sit where you like to play. The connections are: USB to power the amplifier box; and red and white phono-plugs to connect to the audio out from the Xbox, with a phono-socket in the back of each, so you don't have to keep unplugging them to play through speakers. There is a separate, short cable for connecting the amplifier box to the Xbox controller, for the chat function. They don't work without USB power. The sound quality is good, with a nice punch to the bass. Your speech is played back through the earpieces, which is helpful. The mic is on a bendy cable arm and speech is clear.Overall, they're well worth the price, and were delivered quickly.

This headset is well worth the money if you want to add to your Xbox gaming experience; the sound quality is incredible for games and music and they have a pretty comfortable design too. However, one thing that must be highlighted is that they are optimised for the Xbox. I tried them out with my PS3 and, while the sound was working excellently, I could not get the mic to work. They also lack audio-jacks as far as I can tell, so I can't connect them to my PC.I'm not holding this against the headset, since the clues in the name, but I prefer my headsets with a little more versatility.Overall, if you're looking for something to use exclusively with your Xbox, this product is perfect and a complete bargain.
