bought this one and a Trixie 24242 brush as well, to be able to brush our Cockapoo, his hair is a mixture of Poodle tight curls and Cocker Spaniel longer hair on his back, got them off Amazon as breeder said that's where they got there's from. It is down to the spacing of the head blades that helps to keep the knots and tangles away. Good value. There are also larger spaced ones for bigger dogs available

Certainly helped in the grooming of my long haired cat. She tolerated it reasonably well and it helped thin out her matts so they could be easily removed. Would recommend it.
