After trying several costly and useless harnesses to combat my extremely strong Springer spaniels pulling, i stumbled across this a year ago. It was the best thing I could of bought. Other reviews have stated how their dogs do not like wearing this. It's obvious surely that no dog is going to instantly stroll into the this to be strapped up, but alot of positivity and treat based praise when the dog is wearing it, or use of a clicker, for five minutes at a time to get the dog use to it works wonders. My dog does not get a walk without it on and he knows it, so allows me to put it on him. When he is off the lead and running free, he totally forgets he has it on. It does look a little'harsh'on the dog initially (straps do look a little restricting or close to the eyes) but all I can say is keep adjusting until you get a comfortable fit for your dog.As others have said, the stitching has started to come away after a years constant use and I have just ordered another one.Don't give up. This harness has been a God send and has resulted in a happy dog and owner and has virtually stopped his pulling altogether where all other harnesses have failed.

I love the fact that this muzzle is smaller and less obtrusive than many other muzzles on the market. It was easy to adjust to fit my dog, and he can pant and drink while still being restrained from opening his mouth wider. I haven't yet tested it in a situation where the dog tried biting but I assume it will work. I was initially disappointed that the piece that fits adjacent to his skin is heavy plastic rather than leather, but it appears durable and has grooves for air circulation (and ultimately might be easier than leather to keep clean and dry). The straps that extend from the muzzle to the back of his neck are sewn at the wrong angle for my dog, meaning that they "bend" upward and create an awkward bulge as they seek to align with his neck. Sewing those straps on at an angle or anchoring them with a joint that can pivot would solve that problem, but I realize that the muzzle might fit differently on different breeds. Overall, this is a good muzzle at a very reasonable price.I bought size XL for an adult springer spaniel with a "heavy" snout. Though I was given an estimated 4-6 week delivery time, the package arrived in about 10 days.

I purchased this muzzle for my German Shepherd who barks at the mail truck, UPS, trash truck, etc. and I'm sure it annoys my neighbors. I had another mesh type muzzle that prevented him from barking, however because it was so long and extended very close to the mouth and nose, it prevented him from drinking or even partially opening his mouth. This muzzle is adjustable allowing him to be able to drink and breath comfortably. For safety reasons only, I do not leave him in the muzzle if I am gone. He is primarily a house dog and is much more comfortable waiting for me inside. If loosened a bit he can still give a soft bark, but not the annoying wide open noise that a GSD can make.It fits closer up the dog's snout, allowing for a more comfortable grip. For the price I expected a lesser quality than I received. I was amazed at how well constructed it is. It came much faster than I expected, and is made of good quality materials, strong leather and is an overall superior muzzle for barking or biting. I would highly recommend this for anyone needing some 'time out' from your barking dog

Really happy with this muzzle, after seeing others of a similar price, which look cheaply made and have the meshing material and the small clasps, I was worried whether or not this would be of a similar quality. I was proven wrong. The sizing was abit odd, I have a medium sized 30+kg Husky/GSD cross, so I went for the large. The muzzle part I had to adjust to being quite small and the head strap I had to adjust to the edge of its limits. Her breed does have quite a narrow mouth though. I might have been better with the xl. Though since her lead is attached to a harness and not the actual muzzle, it does what I want. The clasps and adjustment pieces are made of a hard plastic and are sizeable. On many attempts of first using it, she tried to pull it off with her paws, unsuccessfully. The muzzle stayed firmly attached and the clips were fine. (I've read reviews of different muzzles on amazon, where the clips snap). The material is of a good standard and the padding on the muzzle helps for a comfortable fit.For a muzzle of this price, it is well worth it.

I have a dog that can be reactive to other dogs. I have no way of knowing what dogs she will react to and although I have only had 2 incidents in 2 years I don't want anymore. I have tried a basket muzzle (it rubbed and she simply was not happy despite persevering). I then tried this in a large, it was alright and she accepted it more readily, however I wasn't happy with the fit - it did fit, but was on maximum settings and she would rub her face and undo the side piece (I solved that by using superglue). I have now bought the XL and I have a happy dog again (and happy owner!). It fits her much better, she cannot get it off and doesn't even try to anymore. I can give her treats, she can drink water, pant and she still gets to eat the grass and other unmentionable things. What she can't do is open her mouth wide enough to bite.If my dog was always aggressive to other dogs and people, I would go the basket muzzle route without a doubt. This is good, but I wouldn't trust it on a dog that is always looking for a fight.

I'm updating my review on this product as it has become a useful tool. It is not completely effective as a muzzle, as the dog can still open her mouth a little way, and it does tend to work loose. We had to doctor it a little to stop it coming completely undone around her mouth with a little encouragement. However, what you lack in safety you definitely gain in control. My dog is strong, and while she's mostly very well behaved, I can't just hold her on a collar and lead, as she has a tendency to lunge when upset. So this rules out using a full muzzle, which can't be worn with a headcollar. With this device, I can have one end of a double lead clipped on just as though it were a halti,or similar headcollar, giving me just that extra control I need. There's the added bonus that she can easily take treats. So while it wouldn't altogether prevent bites, the extra control it does offer makes it a very handy device.

I have tried various methods to get some control of my 45kg Dobermann, including a no-pull harness, Halti, and Gencon, but none of them controlled him like this muzzle. I tried it for the first time today and it was a pleasure to walk him - usually he drags me along no matter what method of control I use. I clipped one end of his lead to his collar as usual, and the other end onto the muzzle. I made the muzzle quite slack and, although he wasn't too happy at first, he soon forgot about it. It had a weird calming effect on him - he did tug a bit to start with but quickly calmed down and trotted along quite happily, with a slack lead!! Wow, that was a first. I'm hoping that this improvement carries on.I honestly didn't even have to pull on the muzzle end of the lead to control him - seemed as if the mere presence of it inhibited his usual mad dragging. Fingers crossed that the muzzle keeps working.

I bought this because I have a great dane and a young child. The Dane only likes to bark at about 9 pm and after, right about the time we are trying to put our little one down for the night. Since her room is on the back of the house and the dogs are in the back yard his bark is right at her window. His bark is so loud that we have previously had noise complaints from our crappy neighbors when he is out later than 10pm on the weekends. So i bought this muzzle because it was made for XXL dogs. It fits my Dane just fine after some adjusting. He typically only has to wear it about an hour at night before we bring them in for the night. The muzzle is very soft and doesn't look like there is any way the animal would be injured from wearing it.It is adjustable so you can make it loose enough for your pet to be able to drink or eat through as long as size allows.

I have a giant massive dog that I like taking everywhere. She behaves so much better with it on. Her demeanor changes to a much more calm puppy. (120lbs). I really like this, provides excellent control while walking. My dog loves with other dogs and greeting people, she would otherwise drag me down the street. This acts like a bridle on a horse, affords great control, even when my little monster loses it and wants to chase s bunny that crosses her path.My dog also has a massive beard, this color allows for people to not even notice she is wearing a muzzle/head harness. I can take her to great big famy events like Thanksgiving and Xmas family gatherings without being worried about her excitability and possibly nipping anyone.Would highly recommend. This is my third purchase. I have many leashes in my house and enjoy the low price and ease of use.

This item is wonderful. I decided to order it (even though this particular size had no ratings) based on the ratings of the other sizes. I received this item within two days, which was great. The item was better than expected. I didn’t realize that it was adjustable and that is so great since I have all large dogs, but each have a slightly different muzzle size. I bought this muzzle because I wanted to control the barking in the early morning and late evening outside. I loved the idea of this muzzle because it’s not as constraining as most muzzles. It easily lets the dogs pant and get water. I also love that its adjustable so that I can loosen it to give them more room, but if they start to bark,I can tighten it back up again. I’m hoping that they will learn this and I will not always have to tighten it. Anyway, this was a great buy.

I was having a dominance/aggression problem between my dogs, so bought this in the interim of our training to get them out of it. My youngest dog had been attacking the eldest at random times. During the training, I would have this on the youngest. The one time she went for the eldest with this on she was unable to bite her at all. She didn't not mind wearing this at all as she was used to haltis/figure of 8 leads, she was able to drink, have treats and in fact I feel it made her a lot calmer. I have read that you shouldn't leave this on your dog for very long, maximum of 30 minutes. We have kept it on her for a lot longer, and she has been absolutely fine and seem to have a happier dog, fewer episodes and are on track to stop the dominance/aggression thanks to the training. This is not a long time solution!

I have a GSD cross and have been using this for about a month - generally very good.Good points: looks like a Halti/Gentle Leader works like a muzzleBad Points: My dog manages to loosen the strap around her muzzle, on long walks I have to tighten the strap roughly every 30mins. She has also ripped the padding material slightly. It would be good if the Muzzle Loop had an end stop so the strap could not come fully off.In summary great value - very cheap and effective, however, could be more durable.Update after about 18 months of use it works well if adjusted correctly - the muzzle strap requires sewing into a fixed position to stop it loosening when wet,I connect the neck strap to her collar as a safety precaution - if the muzzle loop breaks.I have not found a better muzzle/head collar combination.

This is brilliant - I've got two of them. One for a very boisterous collie X bull terrier lurcher and one for a whippet. It looks like a head collar, so doesn't alarm other dog walkers as most muzzles do.Works very well to control pulling on lead - better than anything else I've tried. Even my most dominant dog soon got used to it and is comfortable (and calm) wearing it on walks. I was despairing of finding anything which controlled her pulling but this works really well. They run round quite happily with it on, when the lead is unclipped. It also stops them snapping at other dogs and also from eating anything unpleasant lying on the ground. Other muzzles stop this too but with this one, there's no messy cleaning 'stuff' off the end from attempts at eating nasties lying around.

This is the second of these muzzles I have purchased. The first was too small so my smaller dog inherited it. If you are unsure of the size, I would order the size larger, because the fit is a little odd (that's the best way I can explain it). The XL fits my 70 pound bully breed mix well with some room to spare. If you are seriously worried about your dog biting, this may not be the muzzle for you, as it does allow mouth movement more than other muzzles do. However, I was looking for something to use more as a calming/training aid and this works very well for that. My dog hates when I put it on her but becomes submissive immediately once it's on.It's comfortable and non-intrusive enough to be worn longer than I am comfortable having her wear other style muzzles.

I used this for my American Staffordshire terrier mix who is roughly 40 pounds and it fits his snout well. I used it for the first time and he definitely took getting used to it but after a couple days, he is fine with the muzzle while on walks. I rescued my dog who is two years old, so he was very unruly on a regular collar/leash, so this was my alternative as his harness did not reduce pulling nor do I believe in using a choke collar. Although he still pulled for the first couple days, the muzzle did not mark him and he did not display discomfort.I also want to be clear that I do not use this as an anti-bite muzzle (he does not try to bite people so I cannot attest on the effectiveness for that purpose),only strictly for reducing pulls during walks.
