The car guard itself is solid. My dog loves leaning on the car door to stick her head out the window and after a hike or walk in the dirt, the nastiness is clearly seen. Using the car guard, I have much better peace of mind. After about a month of use, the guard shows no sign or wear and tear. The mesh pockets are a decent size as well. I use them to house air purifying bags, gloves, and a travel dog bowl. Now, As for them staying in the window- THEY DON'TThe tabs are useless on their own. You slide them in the window- and all it takes to pull them out is even the slightest of pressure.I'm sure if an ant walked across the car door guard, the ant would have enough strength to pull the car guard out. That being said,it does come with velcro stickers that can be used to provide a more secure fit. These velcro tabs work. Even with the window opening and closing- providing just a slight bit of pull on the guard- the velcro tabs keep the guard in placeHOWEVER- don't even think about pulling off the car guard. The glue is not strong enough to handle that much pull. I made that mistake with one door and now I have one car guard that is solidly in place while the other falls out every so often. Therefore... the velcro gives you that false sense of security that you may be able to take the car guard off and replace it as you please- but that is not the case.To remedy this, I just bought industrial strength velcro- search it on amazon its like 6 bucks- and voila. the car guard stays when i want it. and I can remove it as i please. So yea, I had to buy another product (6 bucks and super easy to apply...like. SUPER easy) but now I have a functioning product that works exactly like I want it.Please Kurgo... give us stronger glue on the velcro tabs provided in the box

Vehicle installed on: 2012 Ram 1500 Laramie CCSimply put: These guards fit nicely into the window channels in my truck. They slide in and out with ease without causing any damage to the window or the existing tint. When you roll the rear windows down, they stay put.. and they do slide up a tad when you roll the windows back up, but they do not slip out on their own. After noticing this, I put them through a few tests and I could not get them to completely fall out of the channels. The plastic tabs are long enough to keep this from happening. They also fold up very easily and stow away in the rear pockets of the front seats or (where I like to keep them) in the rear floor storage compartments.Basically, they fold up nicely ans take up very little space so they could be stored practically anywhere within the vehicle. They are the perfect (and cheap!) solution to keeping my dog's paws and drool off of my doors, especially the door handles. I would (and already have) recommended these guards to a few friends and family members and will continue to do so. The cost is worth every penny when you consider you will no longer have nail scratches on the door interior or drool/slobber in the door pockets. Two thumbs up here!

We used this Kurgo Car Door Guard on our Subaru Outback on a recent trip. The product works as it advertises. We had no trouble of it coming out of the window with our beagle, as other reviews talked about. We used this with the Kurgo Hammock and the Kurgo Seatbelt tether car Restraint. The only problem was, it is not wide enough to cover our entire door. We used blue painters tape on the exposed parts of the door and after the trip was able to remove the tape with no residue. (need to test it on your car door material first). But the Car Door Guard works real good. We left the pockets empty as putting items in them tends to weigh them down and pull out the tabs. The tabs could be a little thicker material and a rougher finish to help hold them in. They are about the size of a credit card, but half as thin. There are four tabs for each door guard and two door guards, (left and right) per set. Overall, it was a wise investment protecting our leather interior of our car.

I installed these in my 2012 Toyota 4Runner to protect the doors from my three dachshunds that go everywhere with me. The door guards installed fairly easy but I initially installed them backwards. They are just long enough to cover the door down to the point where it meets the seat level. The pockets come in very handy to put leashes and dog waste bags in.The only issue I have, and it is a minor one to me, is the door guard rides up about an inch out of the window seal area if I move the window up. It just take 2 seconds to seat it back down into the seal but it is a slight annoyance that I have to do this any time I move the window. My issue could be more of a Toyota window seal issue than the door guard. If you are thinking of making this purchase then do it. These are well worth the money.

Very good product. Although you can use the velcro to fix to the car doors, the attached slats fit perfectly in between the window and the door so i chose not to bother with the velcro however, because its not fixed, I do have to watch when lowering the window, it doesn't usually lift out of place but if it does, a gentle push back into place is all that's needed. Overall I'm impressed with this product and wish Id thought of buying them ages ago.My dog slobbers everywhere so no longer having to daily clean the doors is a godsend! You get 2 in a pack and I fitted them to the rear doors of my Peugeot 208 which is same size as a Golf, and fit perfectly. One less star than perfect because in my opinion you don't get much velcro if that's the fix option you decide to go with.

We have a black goldendoodle and a white pit... and a brand sportage with black interior. On our first road trip, these door guards did what we needed them to do - they kept the drool, scratches and paw prints off the door. I'm only giving 4 out of 5 stars because they were a little difficult to get set. Each one has 4 plastic tabs that are supposed to be inserted in the window seal. We were able to get 2 in, which was enough to make things work, but even that took some patience. Also, if you have larger doors, the entire surface of your door won't be protected. Basically, these do what they need to do, but they could be better. We partnered these with this seat cover, which worked pretty well for us:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003M0EJ2A/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00

I would rate this product 5+ stars except one thing. I absolutely could not get a guard to fit in the passenger window, tried for about 1 hour. However, they fit perfectly in the back seat windows, and took 5 minutes to install. Truly, I needed to move Miss Jazzi to the back seat, and this made me do it. I've had her in the front in a Snoozer booster seat (awesome product) and seat belt harness for years. She gets nervous with certain noises and it's nice to have her next to me to comfort her. But, I think we'll do just fine, and she's safer in the back seat. I have a Lexus ES 350, and maybe a quirk - - but could not get panels to fit in front passenger window. Overall, just love them! The guards are made from quality material, great looking, and great quality overall.

I have a 75lb, 7-month old puppy, so when I purchased my brand new Subaru Outback last weekend, I knew I'd need some special accessories to keep him comfortable and safe, as well as protect my new car. Kurgo's Car Door Covers are so easy to install, and were worth the purchase from the very first drive. My puppy jumped up on the window ledge, but the door cover stayed put, and after the drive was over, there was no evidence my puppy had even been in the car (except for his lil nose prints on the glass). My only issue with the door covers were their shape. They didn't *quite* cover the entire door - leave about 2 inches uncovered. Regardless, I love my Kurgo Car Door Covers, and have already recommended them to just about every other pet owner I know.

The protectors fit perfectly on my 2013 Jetta sedan's back doors. They have velcro strips on the back in case they are too big so you can subtract about 4" by folding a flap back for smaller doors (I didn't need to). With a bit of velcro, I can probably make this work, but like other reviewers have mentioned, the tabs that slide into the window bays do pull out when the window rolls up and down.I knew this when I bought these, so I will enjoy the challenge of "MacGyvering" my way around this project. No fault of the manufacturer, it just is what it is and there's really no other option. Velcro strips should just be included with the product maybe to counter the issue?Good protectors over-all though. Two thumbs up with a bit of enginuity.

I bought a pair of these for a Lexus ES 350. My dog is a beagle. To insert the door guards, I had to open the windows, and insert each of the tabs in the center of the window and slide them over. The tabs do not come out when my beagle stands on the top of the door and surfs the wind. That was my biggest concern--that the tabs would be too short. The door guards themselves could be a little bit longer. They cover the arm rest on the door when first installed, but slide up the armrest when the dog stands on it. My dog hasn't had a problem yet with the pockets, but they look like a stupid idea. How long before my dog's nails get caught in that webbing? Overall, the product seems adequate for the job,at least with respect to a 30 pound dog.

Love this door cover. No more drool or worries the dog is going to scratch the door. Easy to use, just slide the 3 plastic flanges down the door crack where the window retracts. Its not permanent and is removable with just 2 fingers. A kid could do it. Its attractive too. If your doors are black on the intererior then its very difficult to see that its even there. A good purchase for the back seats. Would be cumbersome to use it on the front seats, because your window and door control locks would be under it. Dog should be seatbelted in the back anyway. There is actually an online attachment for purchase for that too, uses chest harness and a short leash that hooks into a seatbelt.

I bought two sets. Using the Command picture hanger strips as suggested by someone else online, I attached two to the back doors as I have dogs in the back at all times and I constantly roll those windows up and down. For the front I am using them as suggested with the plastic tabs, but I don't leave them up all the time and roll the windows up and down. I just put them up if I'm exiting the car and leaving a dog inside for a bit. I know they will scratch at the doors as I'm leaving so these protect as they should. GREAT product. I just got a new car and was really hoping to find a way to keep it scratch free, and these are the perfect answer!

Good design. The only reason we gave it a four star rating is because the flaps that insert into the door could be longer for late model SUV doors, and the flaps could be longer to cover the larger interior panels of the late model SUV. We have a 2015 Hyundai Tucson and these covers do a good job, but are about an inch short of full coverage at the bottom. Also, the tabs can come out when the dog climbs on the protector and pull one or more of the tabs loose. It is an easy fix next stop, but if they come all the way out, it defeats the reason to have them. I am not unhappy with them, and we continue to use them. It is a good product.

I had previously purchased a sling style seat protector to prevent my dog from falling forward, but found she needed to stand on the window sills to sniff out the window. This is s brand new car too. After I saw the first lasting claw streak, I decided to go for the door protectors too. They fit in fairly well and don't bend the rubber weather strip too bad. The plastic tabs aren't very long (to stay out of the way of the internal works of the door and window gears), so the covers tend to pry out a little every couple weeks. For this same reason I no longer open the rear windows when speeding around on a nice day.

These were nice but like a lot of people said, they come up anytime the window is adjusted. They protected my mountaineer, but I had to fix one every time we rolled the window up or down. It wasn't really that frustrating...cause we had to stop to let our pup go potty so I fixed it them and it would stay until we decided to turn the air on. But, what do you expect to happen? Lol it does come with Velcro if you want them to be permanent.I would probably buy these again, though. They do what they say and they worked great for me. Our dog decided to get muddy paws so these definitely came in handy!
