I was looking for something to extend the length of my back seat for my dogs to ride in comfort. I found exactly what I was looking for in this product! I have a Nissan Frontier extended cab. The back seats fold down, and I prefer that over letting the dogs jump in on my leather seats. However, with the seats folded, the dogs are really high off the floor and easily hoover over my shoulder while driving. This bridge is perfect. It provides a barrier from front seat to back seat, while providing a bridge over the floor boards in the back seat. I can still fold down the back seats, keep my leather from getting messed up by the dogs, and keep them safe while driving, while also giving them more room to move around and get comfortable on long trips. I've slammed on the brakes a few times, which results in the dogs ending up crashing into the floor boards. No fun for either of us. I couldn't have asked for anything better. It fit perfectly in my Nissan Frontier, (which has a rather large back seat) and held the weight of a 45lb and 57lb dog at the same time with no problems. I even like the fact that I can flip it over to show a khaki or a dark gray (black) side to match my interior. If you want to keep your dog safe during a car ride and prevent them from roaming around and getting up front, search no more. Definitely worth the money! After spending over 24 hours in the truck with my dogs while using this product, I can confidently say that this product is awesome! My dogs were comfortable, which made me comfortable. I didn't have to worry about them trying to get in the front seat or worry about slamming on the brakes and them ending up in the floor board. I would pay twice this to have that kind of peace of mind!

After researching many options, this was the best backseat bridge for my needs and I am pleased with it after completing our first major road trip with our pup (9 hrs each way). FLEXIBILITY: My husband and I could trade driving shifts and adjust the front seats accordingly (I’m 5’4”; he’s 6’3”) without having to adjust or move the bridge. While the bridge not fully covering the entire depth of the backseat may seem odd at first, it is this trait that makes this possible. Our dog wears a car safety harness and is tethered, so we folded the center panel underneath the bridge. This allows him to see us, rest his head on the center console from time to time, and for us to reach back there to pet him or give treats, etc. STORAGE: The bridge still allows full usage of the backseat footwell areas for stuff which will be easily accessible when the back doors are open. Very important on a longer trip when every crevice is needed after the trunk fills up! INSTALLATION: I found the straps a bit confusing at first, but the directions are clear and easy to follow with a little focus! COMFORT: Our 70 lb dog was much more relaxed in the backseat with the bridge. He’s able to get comfortable more quickly without the risk of falling into the footwell. We did some local trips first to test out the right configuration of blankets, etc on top of the bridge for extra coziness and to minimize shifting on the car’s leather seats. Ultimately, our pup has a really cozy space back there that I’d be happy to relax in myself!

Fits well in the gap between front and back seats of my 2010 Subaru outback. I have two dogs, one is 55-60 pounds and the other is 45-50 pounds, which I haul to the vet when needed and on a 14 hour one way car ride twice a year. I purchased this because I originally used a hammock in my backseat for my pups in order to keep my backseat clean. They weren’t able to see where the back seat ended, so they would constantly step on the gap section where there was only support from the hammock. This was starting to rip the hammock. This product has prevented farther damage to their hammock and they were more comfortable on the long ride, because they had more space to stretch out!It is easy to move the front seats as needed. I don’t often have more than one passenger with me, but this was super easy to unclip on one side in order to accommodate a person in the back along with the pups. Also, great for light groceries trips, as this is always in my car! One downside would be that with my vehicle the way the back seat sits (sloped down a little) and how I have my front seats adjusted the bridge doesn’t lay flush with the back seat. However for me this was an easy fix: I have a folded blanket laying under the hammock where the bridge doesn’t lay on my seat. I feel like this works because I use the hammock as well and the pups can’t move the blanket and also I use the headrest, not the seatbelts, to restraint my pups. I have only been using this for 2 months now, but is holding up well thus far.

My dog and I LOVE this bridge!!! This gives him sooo much more room to turn around and it is sooo much safer! He weighs about 110 lbs. and I was a little worried about the bridge supporting his weight...not a problem! I have a seat cover that covers the entire backseat (floor and back of front seats as well as the front of the backseat) bought at Amazon with a backseat hammock as well (also bought here). I put the bridge between these two covers. Might be a little overkill, but I have never had leather seats with dogs. It took a little time to adjust the bridge so it was balanced all the way across the backseat. I had to get it to stay in place while touching the back of the front seats.I adjusted it 3 times in about a week before I got it just right. Total time was about 15 minutes for all 3 times. My dog was used to a van...he rode on the floor; so this was a big adjustment for him. Now he's very happy and confident again in the car!!!! My review is based on the fact that my boy rides quietly; he doesn't stand up and go back and forth between the windows. He sits or lies down turning around once or twice. This is a MUST BUY for anyone that has their large best friend riding in the backseat!UPDATE: Have used this bridge many, many times now and still LOVE it! Removes or installs easily and wipes down great. Gives my boy sure footing. Amazon carries great products for our pets! Thanks Amazon!!!

I have two dogs, both in the 70-80 lb range.I needed something that would keep them out of the front of my car and still give me easy access to the floor in the back.It was made for my Subaru Crosstrex, perfect size, very little adjustments needed. It was also very simple to install. I also loved the reversibility feature (even though I wish both sides were black). The reason I liked the feature is because I can move the water bottle holder to the front so the girls can't get to it (they can open them) ... so my reason for reversing it was not for the color. I also didn't realize that the portion with the water bottle compartment has a pocket on both sides.I was thrilled to learn this as it means I can keep leashes/harnesses for both my girls, not just one. It is very stable even if they lay right agains the front seats, and if I need to get to the floor space in the back it is simple to lift up and access. It also goes right to the edge of our seats, so they can load in and out of the car easily without catching on the bridge (an issue we have had with other covers/dividers.All in all I really am impressed with the whole setup and hope it continues to last as it has proved invaluable with how much I take my girls out with me.

Perfect solution, no longer had to fish the chubby cocker spaniel out of the void between seats. I had tried many crazy ideas of my own, but this was excellent, changed the lives of the cocker and the terrier. .....Until one day I let the lab and the bassett into the car. The lab snapped the boards on both sides before the slower-moving bassett even got to them, took him about 2 seconds. I plan to try what a previous reviewer did, open the seams and replace the boards with something sturdier. I doubt that my result will be pretty. I would very gladly pay more for a heavy-dog version. I still give it 5 stars, love the concept and ease of use. You just have to have some idea of a realistic weight limit.Update - I figured out what I did wrong.I keep the front seats pretty much all the way forward and the rear seats all the way back. The device spanned the gap, but just barely. That meant that the big dog put all his weight on the bridge, and none too gently. Had I put the rear seat further forward, I don't think there would have been a problem.(I have since bought a PetDek, also called KarDek - perfect, so easy to use or store when not in use, working great for me,)

My dogs (2) and I currently live in Miami, FL, as I am here for medical school. Following every semester, I make the 32 hour drive from Miami to Denver, CO as it is MUCH cheaper than trying to fly my miniature schnauzer and shih tzu home for $125 a piece! Even though I know you shouldn't let your dogs roam free while driving, I figure it is far too long of a car ride to have them kenneled up. Both of them have grown up with car riding, and do nothing but lay around with the occasional climbing into the front passenger seat. However, my miniature schnauzer has Diabetes, and last year, developed cataracts in both of her eyes. I worried that she would hurt herself if she tried to go from the back seat to the front seat during our trip. This backseat bridge fits PERFECTLY in my car(s) - I have a 2001 Acura 3.2 TL and a 2009 Nissan Murano. They both stand and lay on the actual product, itself, and it hold up nicely. The dirty paw print collection from snowy pit stops wiped off and the product cleaned up, perfectly. I would definitely suggest this product to anybody who drives often with their pups - it makes for a really fantastic comfortable ride for the dogs!

I'm not sure I'm using this in the manner in which it is intended. Yes I wanted a bridge between the front seats and the back, but I wanted this bridge to connect to rear seats that were folded down. First the good: this fits a 2019 Forester perfectly for what I want The width will just allow the car doors to close without much room on either side. It seems fairly well made, with the caveat that I just got it so I'm not sure how it will wear. Now a couple of cons. The straps are indeed very short. I had to extend them as long as they could go, and it just fit. I'm not super wild about the seat strap, as it crosses right around where the lumbar seat support is. I'll have to see if that is a problem or not.The actual bridge structural material is a little too flexible, I was hoping for something a bit more rigid. It doesn't inspire confidence that it will hold in the long term. But for now, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. In the pictures, ignore the orange and black strap. That is something currently being used to support the zookeeper (thing preventing dogs from going into the front seat).

I installed this product in my Honda CRV last weekend. It fits the backseat perfectly, even with the driver's seat a little further forward than the front passenger seat. It wasn't difficult to adjust the straps so the platform is firmly attached to the front seats. One strap goes around the headrests, and second one goes around the front seats where the seat back meets the seat. It takes a few minutes to adjust the strap length to make sure the platform is level but it's worth the time. You need to ensure a few inches of the platform are supported on the backseat. One side of the product is a tan color, and the other size is dark grey, almost black. Either side can be up to best match your interior. My two dogs, combined weight around 80 pounds, will be using this. I decided it would be wise to put a 15" tall 10" wide ice chest under the extender on the passenger side, and a couple of 15" tall contractor's bucket on the driver's side. They will support the extender and make use of the space that might otherwise be wasted. I'll update this review after we've used it on some longer drives.

Having the backseat extender has made driving with my dog dramatically easier for both of us. My dog is seat belted in with a harness, but because of her size she doesn't fit completely on the back seat. She would have her front legs down on the floor supporting some of her weight, which isn't comfortable at all. I tried stacking things on the floor to make it even with the back seat, but nothing worked.Installing the backseat extender was easy with the printed instructions that come with it. I took my dog out on a test drive and afterwards made some small adjustments here and there. Since my dog and I have done a few several hours long car trips, and I still haven't needed to adjust anything. My dog is so relaxed now in the back, she just naps and plays with a toy, versus when before she would be whining and drooling a lot. This product is seriously the best thing, I am so pleased with it. My dog weighs 90lbs, and so far I have not noticed any signs that would indicate it isn't strong. I also like that it doesn't shift around hardly at all, seems very sturdy.

This bridge works great for my two large dogs. They like to stand on the back seat and stick their heads out the windows (one on each side) and this gives them more stability, especially if I need to stop quickly and unexpectedly (they don't fall onto the floor). When my car is parked, it gives my dog who likes to stay in the back seat more room to stretch out, while the other one climbs in the very back of my SUV and lounges on his bed back there.Probably the only negative is that the bridge needs to go on top of my dog hammock, which I didn't expect (because the dog hammock slips too much if it's on top), This means that it's more difficult to keep the bridge clean,as I can't just throw it in the washing machine like I do with the hammock. But, other than that, it's all good. If you don't live in the country and take your dogs to the river most days, yours will stay much cleaner than mine! I can take it out and shake it off. Maybe I can even spray it down with a hose. I would recommend it, it's really nice.

This has been a HUGE help. I have a 14yo husky with limited mobility/spinal arthritis who uses a ramp to get in/out of the car. I had a hammock on the seat so he couldn't fall, but he would lose his footing regardless when turning around or stepping on the unsupported portion. This has provided a much more firm surface and he is less wobbly when riding/turning around. It's still a bit slippery for him (probably wouldn't be an issue for the average dog), so I have attached a beach towel on top of it using velcro. Was easy to install and seems sturdy/durable. Just for reference, I have a subaru impreza wagon and it fits well.UPDATE: I'm knocking one star off after using this for awhile.Depending on how it fits in your car, be aware that it is possible for your dogs legs to fall down between the car door and the side of this. My dog had this happen while I was driving and I had to pull off the highway to get him freed. Might not be a bad idea to stuff a towel along the sides if there is even a small gap.

We have a Jeep Wrangler JK 4 door and the dogs like to be able to look out the windows. If we put the back seat down, they aren't able to look out. Finding this bridge to cover the footwell is a perfect fix. It's sturdy enough for our smaller dogs and it's flexible enough to have a passenger get in back as well. The true test was a long weekend with the family of three and three dogs. It surely helped add space to the back for the dogs and a hiding place under the bridge for belongings. We originally saw this in a local pet chain store for about $20 more, so we were very happy to find it on Amazon. We knew Kurgo is a good brand and we continue to buy Kurgo products for our pets.8/14/2019 - UPDATEWe still have the Wrangler JK and recently purchased a Grand Cherokee. We have really liked this backseat bridge so much in the Wrangler that we didn't hesitate to buy one for the Grand Cherokee. It fits perfectly there too and keeps the dogs from falling down in the footwell. I highly recommend this!

After reading the reviews here and contacting Kurgo regarding the board used which is fiberboard, I pretty well knew I'd have to do a little customizing for a 70 lb. dog. For the price, no big deal. I was lucky that empty 40lb. pails of Purina Cat Litter were the correct height for support. I thought I might have to add a 1x8 across to level the extender. Issue with the Corolla is that you can only span 9" because of the console. With total depth of 39" from console to back seat, I used a 3x4 nonslip rug for footing issue. For the passenger side I used the headrest strap, but not the seat strap which hits you in the butt as the seat back is not straight across but concave. For the driver's seat, used neither strap as I'm short and that seat is as far forward as it can go. The box said it was 52" long. This is a plus as it covers the whole length of the seat including the curved portion by the door. I liked the fact that the divider could fold down as I don't need it.

This product works great! We use a large nylon pet carrier for our three dogs that would sometimes slide into the floorboard if we had to brake suddenly or if the dogs shifted their weight all the way to the front. The poor dogs would be jumbled in the carrier until we could pull over and reposition it. This product totally solved our problem! Our car is a larger sedan (BMW 740Li) with a really big distance between the front seats and the back bench seat and it was large enough to fill the gap. The bridge is really easy to install and folds up nicely. The only flaw for us is that the nylon straps that hold it up are not quite long enough to go around the front headrests when fully extended such that the bridge is at a slight angle. Also, the bridge is not stable all the way to the end off the middle section if one side is folded up and not attached to the seat. I wish there was an extra strap to secure the middle section with the one side folded up.
