The previous reviewer (Andrew Ferguson) pretty much summarized everything i've wanted to say, i'll still add my two cents though, unfortunately this game has gotten a lot of criticism and people were worried about what this game would turn into, you should be relieved to hear that if you are even remotely interested or a fan of Suda51's work, then this game is not going to disappoint you, yes the combat is simplistic, although fun in my opinion like the old school beat em' ups and hack and slash games it tries to mimic, but more important the story they've written and weaved into this game is an absolute masterpiece, there are tons of references and homages to movies, games and music in here, every T-shirt you can buy in this game pretty much is a direct reference to Indie games or really strangely, the Unreal Engine, even the console both of the protagonists get sucked into has a very Sega Mega Drive/Genesis inspired opening when it boots up.This game oozes style, and may i say, fits perfectly in with the other two entries in the franchise, i personally also think the gameplay makes complete sense, seeing as though the two first games had tons of jobs/minigames you had to do before you went on assassination missions (which themselves were influenced by old-school video games from the golden age of gaming), maybe i'm the only one seeing parallels design wise.I predict this is going to be the sleeper hit of 2019, a very solid game that you shouldn't miss out on, if only just to support Grasshopper Manufacture so they can create No More Heroes 3.And if this game proves anything, it's that it is one hundred percent PUNK ROCK.EDIT: I also forgot to mention, that this game takes a lot of inspiration from the video game Hotline Miami, and one of that game's creators even helped out on this game, one of the first tracks you'll hear in the "Life is Destroy" chapter is pretty much a massive homage to the song "Horse Steppin'" by Sun Araw, although that's far from the only music homage in the game.Nerdy rant over.P.S. it should be noted i played through the entire game in portable mode because that's what i felt was the most appropriate way to play it AKA this is a budget game and doesn't look as great blown up on a TV screen, it's your choice how to play though, just some food for thought.

It's been a long time since Suda51 was the game director for a game and now with Travis Strikes Again this is him returning to that seat again. If you are a fan of Killer7, No More Heroes, Shadows of the Damned, The Silver Case or any other Grasshopper game then you should definitely pick this game up. The combat is fun, the game is varied, the dialogue is fantastic and the humour is great. Boss fights in particular being great.Like his previous work this game is unique and unlike anything out there. To give a summary of the structure of this game it's an isometric hack and slash game. You play as either Travis Touchdown or Badman (local co-op is available)and you are transported into video games. In the games you will be fighting enemies with the hack and slash gameplay. Each game will have its own unique gameplay element (e.g. one game makes you play a racing themed puzzle game in-between fights).Between each game that Travis and Badman go into you'll engage in an old fashioned visual novel with fun dialogue. So yeah from that description I'm sure it sounds weird. If there's one thing this game has it is personality.

Travis strikes again is a 3rd person perspective game from the mind that brought us killer 7 and previous no more heroe games. Its got good graphics and plenty of unlockables if your willing to work for it with dlc being released in the future to add to the amount of playablity. Many might find the game repetitive but if your willing to carry on past the first few levels you will begin to enjpy the game and see the quirks you will come to enjoy.

If you've played the Wii game No More Heroes you'll know the protagonist in this game already; Travis Touchdown, assassin and wielder of the beam saber, also hard core video gamer. Expect much adult and childish humor, the save points are toilets, the cut scenes filled with in jokes, Suda 51 delivers again with a collection of mini games.

Not as good as the first 2 and should of been a Wii U game and then we could've had another (maybe a little better) version on the Switch. This is still a fun Otaku style fanboy game. Fun and frantic but just seems to lack that Suda51 style.

Whilst the game may not be a proper No More Heroes game its a fun spin-off that is only really for fans of the series and the games creator Suda 51.

If you liked NMH and NMH2 you'll like this. If not then get something else I guess.
