We now have an old Victorian house with solid, rather than stud walls, and just couldn't get decent WiFi signal from the router in the office to our living room. I did try force changing channels on router, and then a couple of WiFi boosters / extenders, but they were only vaguely successful, they had to be placed in such a way as they could pick up the router signal, but also close enough enough to the living room (because of the solid walls) to provide a signal. I did then consider using Ethernet cable, but the cable route would be problematic. So, I then discovered this TP-Link plug-in WiFi extender, which makes use of your home's existing power cable network, and after reading a couple of reviews thought I'd give it a try, even though the sockets are on separate rings. It worked like a charm, and provides a full WiFi signal. Setup is easy, you initially 'pair' the transmitter & receiver, and then hook up the transmitter to your router with the supplied Ethernet cable, and the receiver in your desired location. The TP-Link can either use WPS, which will take on the router SSID, providing seamless transition, or you can use the TP-Link's own SSID, if you'd rather, as I did, keep them separate. My phone has the details for both, so simply switches WiFi networks as I move around the house. You can also login into the TP-Link unit via your browser & assign a different SSID if required, in the same way as you can on a router. As a bonus, the receiver also provides Ethernet connectivity, perfect for connecting my CCTV system. You can buy additional receivers if you've got other WiFi problem areas within your home. The package contains everything you need, and the units seem well made, as you'd expect from what is a respected brand within this field, and overall, excellent value for money. It provides a perfect working solution, which is also a lot neater, as no separate power adapters & leads, the unit is the power adapter.Just bear in mind, they are designed to work with sockets on the same ring, or radial arm (Same fused power circuit from your consumer unit) and some people have had issues when plugged into multiway trailing socket adapters. I had to do so, but fortunately, it all works fine.I just wish I'd tried these in the first place!Read full review...

It does what I hoped for - - but installation info could be better - - needs to be written so an inexperienced idiot can understand. - - had to dial up Utube to get tuitions on how to install.Had to reset extender from initial attempt to set it up .Now working ok - - and does what I had hoped for - - have recommended to my daughter as I can now talk her through my experience. And just to prove my point - my other daughter could not figure it out but she had a boyfriend who is a software engineer - he hit the same problem I met but he got access to the internet somehow. However she has to select the extender ssip on her laptop.so when a software engineer cant get it working properly what chance does the ordenary punter have a chance.I now have my set network address working site wide, with network name and password on the extender , the same as my router. suggest you reccommend Utube tutorials to buyers.Read full review...

I use this for my summerhouse which is about 20m away from the modem. Was dubious when my son mentioned it, but even he is impressed. Easy to set up and works well through an extension lead. Really quick to install. I plug the extension lead in a plug in the kitchen, and unwind all 10m of it and plug this in. The only thing I do is change WiFi settings to tp link and no problems. Can get internet to stream, surf or chat. It is really good. It can get a little warm, even in an ordinary house plug, but not too warm I worry. Portable so can use in black spots round the house. Very price was competitive.

My wifi router is at the front of our house and our office is at the back were we wasn't getting strong signals for our tech, bought this home followed the very simple instructions and in 5 mins had 2 wired ethernet connections and wifi in the office all from these little plugs ! super impressed! One thing that concerned me was a lot of people saying the adapters had to be on the same circuit or switch. I can confirm that in our case the sender unit is on a different RCD switch to the receiver.

I needed two wifi hotspots one upstairs and one in a summerhouse, where the live cable travelled about 150 ft from the source plug socket. To my surprise, it worked first time out of the box with exactly two presses of two buttons, one on the small plug and one on the large, plus a login with the serial (printed onn a sticker, for any device. My only complain was that neeting two satellite units I had to buy two base units as i could not find the single wifi units anywhere. Beats wifi extenders

I must admit I was a bit sceptical about this product but thought apart from 40 something pounds, what else do I have lose. It was easy to set up. Plugged the one in downstairs and the other upstairs in the computer room and paired them up. Ran an Ethernet cable in to the pc and voila! My son can now play fortnite to his hearts content with no lagging! I also had issues with my new virgin WiFi router not giving me a consistent connection in the attic, now with added WiFi booster I have no issues

The signal may even be a little stronger than the hub itself in my case and the range is excellent. Setup is fairly easy although the instructions that come with it could have been better and depending on your plug situation (if you dont have two to play with in one room) its a lot easier to set up with two people, one at either end. Its worth noting that this device does not work with an extention lead, wall socket only, and house extentions etc might stop it working due to wiring differences.

If you want stable speeds right to the device IE Smart TV or Xbox one PS4 via Ethernet then buy these becasue having a device connected Via WiFi is good but you can suffer signal strength issues and drop outs causing lag while playing on line games . Add these to a mains power Socket near your device and connect with a Ethernet cat 5 cable and massive difference . Stopped my son complaining all the time about lag, its has WiFi also so you can extend your WiFi range for Phones and Alexa's etc

Similar review as I left for another similar TP-Link product.Overall, a really good product. The WiFi speed is around 20mbs lower than our internets maximum, so not bad.Where it's let down is the range. You have to be fairly close, or the speeds suffer greatly and is almost unusable.Using modern smartphones, laptops, desktops. IPads etc all connect perfectly. But using much older devices can struggle with the speeds, where other home plugs I've used were fine with older devices.

The best i could ever get for my needs.I have a problem with my router's wifi signal wich comes and goes if i'm in a different room(the router is in the kitchen) so i buyed this range extender to put it in my bedroom so i can have maximum wifi speed.I must tell that i'm really amazed by the accuracy and speed that i get when i'm in the same room with the extender(98%of line's maximum allowance). When i'm in different room the speed decreases by 35% but the connection is stable and good.5*

Needed WiFi in my garage tried various other products with no luck. Tried this and with simple 5min set up had WiFi running in my garage instantly. If you have electric wiring running to your garage from your house then your good to go. Plug small device into power socket then run Ethernet cable which is supplied in the kit to your main router (so best to plug in close to your router). Then plug the larger device into your garage or out house and bingo you have WiFi. Top product.

Got this to extend the WiFi to the far end of the garden.I have power in my shed reached by 30m of armored cable, so first setup in the house as it advised and then more out in to the shed.I found it easy to setup and use. I followed the very easy instructions to allow to use the same details as the main router. This way my phone in iPad just swap between the strongest signal with no effect on the broadband and no drop outs.. I have found not faults or disadvantages Would recommend

Worked well once I figure something out, doesn’t work great will some routers you can get really low speeds.Managed to get it working by connecting it to a wireless receiver instead of directly to the router gets matching speeds to the receiver without any lose.So router speed is about 20 mbps, Receiver is 15 mbps and this device gives off 15mbpsReviews say that firmware updates can help with compatibility others say it won'tDo some research before buying it as you can’t return.

These units DO NOT fit into a wall socket near floor level!HOWEVER, I have set them up using extension cables in both rooms. Initially they would not pair, I was told they would not work at and could not be used with extension cables but on a last attempt they did.I have a very happy teenager, who now has download speeds 4x as fast, he tells me there his PlayStation does not 'lag' and has wifi in his room!As they did work in the end using extension cables, we are very happy

I had an issue where one room in my house didn't receive a WiFi signal. I did some research and decided to try out this product. It was very easy to set up and comes with everything you need (including 2 ethernet cables).I now have a stable WiFi and wired connection where before I didn't get anything. The speeds are slightly lower than what I get directly from my router, but they are still more than enough.I would definitely recommend for anyone who has the same situation.
