I started playing this game a few days ago and it's become quite addictive and is very enjoyable. The game follows the film pretty well, as in the game you start off on the level where you have to save the train full of orphans. This level is quite a good introduction as you learn basic controls. A to jump, A + A to jump twice, flick the wii remote to run into objects etc. You soon notice there are objects to collect. The red capsules collect coins, the blue cards are collectables which once found can be viewed in Al's Toy Barn, and the blue capsules show you what to do if you get stuck. After completing this first level you are shown the game board. This is where you can access each level, once it has been unlocked or go into Toy Box mode. There are also three other areas on the game board. These are the cinema where you can view cutscenes you have already seen again, Extras which include credits, and Al's Toy Barn where you can view items you have found. After completing each level, you unlock a new one. These levels take place in order of the film, such as when you complete Sunny Side, you then unlock Bonnie's house. In the game you get to interact with lots of new characters such as Lotso, but others are only usually seen in cutscenes such as Daisy. In the game you can play as three characters, Woody, Jessie and Buzz. You can also control Bullseye if one of the other characters is riding him. Each character has their own special ability. Woody can swing from objects, Jessie can jump and land on objects others can't and Buzz can throw further than the other two. To switch character you press the - button. Sometimes there is only one character that can complete a task so you get a fair use of them all.One thing that annoys me about the game is that some levels are a lot longer than others, so that you may decide to take a break and come back to them. If you turn off your console and come back to that level you have to go back to the beginning of that level, the only thing that is saved is what collectables you have collected. This is quite annoying since some levels are long, and some parts of the level are hard to do. The game has been rated for children aged 7 and older, since it contains some violence. I would say the game is hard for a 7 year old to complete. As for the violence, this is mainly throwing balls at the aliens, or blasting lasers at robots, such as in the Buzz Video Game level. As well as the main story, I also really like the Toy Box mode. Here you can play as either Woody, Buzz or Jessie and you have challenges to complete around the town. There are tons of these challenges and they often don't take very long to do. By completing these challenges you earn coins to spend in Al's Toy Barn, so the more toys you buy, the more challenges you have. Some of these challenges take a while such as rescuing Ham from bandits, or take about 10 seconds such as throwing a villager through the cactus. You can also customise your town (buildings, aliens, villagers) from different things you find in capsules. I liked how this part of the game included other Disney films, so that you can paint your buildings in a a Finding Nemo theme and dress your villagers in a Wall-E costume. As for bugs and glitches, the game has been very well put together. None of my characters have never run into walls and become stuck, or items have become invisible. I have experienced one crash, but for the amount of hours I have played this game I'm not going to make a fuss of it. The graphics are also done very well, which you don't always see on the Wii and I love how well made the cutscenes are.

The game is visually beautiful, making the most of the DS capabilities. The graphics are colourful and fun, and the music is reminiscent of the style of music in the movie. The game is a platform style mission based game, which follows the story from the film quite closely, with some lovely screenshots based on the film to show the child what is happening in the story. Gameplay is quite simple and straightforward, as you would expect of a kids game, with the occasional tricky manouevre, but the game has regular checkpoints, so the child will not have to backtrack too far through the level if they lose a life. The story mode switches between the "real world" and the fantasy world, allowing lots of innovative and fun styles of gameplay. The stylus is incorporated quite a lot in the game, being used for things like putting coins into the piggy bank and moving Woody from side to side as he climbs along a moving train. You can also use the microphone to blow bubbles in one level. The levels are quite easy to follow, with your mission stated on the top screen. Missions include such things as rescuing all the toys from the daycare centre. The levels are not huge, so it is quite easy to complete a mission, as you only have a limited amount of places that you can go, and if you follow the "Luxo balls" on each level, you have a pretty good idea of where you are going. In the game you can play as Woody or Buzz, and each character has different abilities, such as Woody's ability to swing on objects using his pull string. There is also a Playtime mode, which is a sort of strategy based minigame, where you have to prevent enemy toys from besieging your base in a variety of different locations. This game would appeal to kids aged betwen 5 and 10, as it is quite an easy game, although 5 year olds may need a little help with reading the objectives on the top screen. My older kids, aged 7 and 9 both completed the whole game on the first day, after sitting glued to the screen for hours! Even when the game is completed, you can go back and acheive extra objectives, such as collecting all the balls on a level, so they go back to the game again and again. The only downside to this game is that if you want to play against a friend, they need their own copy of the game in their DS. This means my kids cannot play against each other like they do with many games, because we only have one copy of the game, and I have no intention of buying another, just so they can play versus mode! Another downside is simply that the game may be too easy for many people, but you have to remember that this is a game aimed at kids. For a kids game, I didn't find the menu very straightforward to navigate, this could have been simplified and improved. It is not all that easy to exit a level that you have entered by mistake. In conclusion though, this is a fantastic little game that is true to the movie and the Toy Story brand (although weirdly, Mr Potato Head does not feature at all in the game!). Kids will love the game and play it happily for hours, which is great on rainy days and school holidays. To me, any game that they return to again and again is money well spent.

Two words, Blooming Brilliant! I got this game last Sunday and I love it! I played it all Sunday and everyday after school, so its fun fun fun! The game comprises of two modes: First off you will be plunged strait into "Story Mode" Where you follow the TS3 movie along with some little extras along the way. You start off like the film ready to save the train full of orphans. You are riding bullseye as Woody. Chase after the train and save the orphans. After that you are shown "The Game Board" where you pick and play the levels. From "The Game Board" you can enter the second mode, "Toy Box Mode". "Toy Box Mode" is possibly the best thing I have ever seen on a kids platform game.In "Toy Box Mode" you can choose between the three characters who you play with through the whole game: Buzz, Jessie and Woody. In this mode you are the Sheriff of your own town! If you want to climb up to the highest point, you can. If you want to stand on-top of the buildings you can. As you progress through "Story Mode" more things become available to by from "Al's Toy Barn" In "Story Mode". Now I cant say much elce as I don't want to ruin the game with more spoilers than a pimped ford escort! BAD THINGS: Only 3 playable characters, when you die it takes you back a little to far and gets annoying, especially at the hard bits. Lastly I am already on the last level after having the game for a week, but "Toy Box Mode" will keep me entertained

I bought this game for my young cousin, I was pleasantly surprised while playing to find it was enjoyable despite me expecting it to be a rushed movie tie-in ploy to grab some more money. He claims it to be one of his favourite Wii games in his collection so far and despite my age and the simplicity of the game, I have grown a soft spot for it.While the story mode of the game is pretty enjoyable, most fun an be found in the 'Toy Box' where you can complete tonnes of quests as several of the characters. Once you've done a quest or two, more and more pile up expanding the choice you have and giving more freedom. If you get bored of doing the quests there are plenty of other fun things to do such as customising the town or going on races which are very nicely slotted into the game play.Pros:- Fun game, especially for the kids.- Decently priced for a new game.- Toy Box mode is very enjoyable.- Controls are simple and easy to get a hang of.- Good voice acting.- Long lasting appeal for those who get into it.Cons:- Those older than the age of 12 may get bored quickly.- Unlike the other console versions, you cannot play with friends in co-op.aConclusion: If you have kids, or a soft spot for Toy Story then this game is very enjoyable. However it's not perfect and some older players may get bored more quickly.

Having grow up with Toy Story I was obviously super excited for the film of TS3 (which was also amazing), and then I bought this game because I am, ultimately, a 5 year old in a 22 year old's body. I am so glad I did. It is amazing! The graphics aren't as up-to-date as they could be in some places, but that doesn't matter because this game is so much fun to play and so varied. You can play as Woody, Buzz or Jessie and all of them have their own special skills, but the game starts with Woody riding a horse, and I've got as far as Buzz going to his own planet so far. The Buzz flying level is great though! Reminiscent of the old Star Wars games where you flew through space avoiding asteroids.Ultimately,I don't think it matters if you're 5 or 25; if you like Toy Story, then buy this game!

If you or your kids love the Toy Story films then this is a great game for your wii collection. The quality of the game - in terms of the settings, soundtrack and characters taken fom the film are superb. The game is effectively two games: board game and toy box. Both can be played as single player or two player. You can be Woody, Buzz or Jessie. Each board game level commences with a short animated clips. Completing each level may not pose too much trouble to serious gamers, they sufficiently challenge any players under 8 yrs old: to be honest a few even tested me.Toy box is set around a wild west town. There plenty to do - and its all about free-play and mini-game.My kids love playing this game. This game sets the bar, in terms of wii games based on animated kids films.

I purchased this game for my granddaughter's 5th birthday. It was the first DS game she had used and once I had shown her the basics, she was playing on it. Her mum has opened up other options by going through the story, which was a bit more challenging for her at this time, but now she can play with many parts of the game. The delivery was beyond excellent. I ordered the game on a Friday lunchtime and it arrived with me in the post the next day, well packaged. I had chosen the game after reading other people's comments on the Amazon website, so thanks for those.

Contrary to Amazon's information, this game IS compatible with a 3DS, proved by the fact that my son is playing it now on a 3Ds! Appears to be a success as I have just had to wrestle it from his hands, or more than likely would continue to play it all day. The only negative so far is that instructions have to be read and are not spoken aloud. My son is 3, and although a DS, Xbox expert has yet to master reading. As the game is rated 3 years perhaps this should have been taken into account.

My four year old LOVES this game (so does his dad!). I'm a bit disappointed however, to discover that the game for Nintendo DS DOESN'T have the Toy Box mode. Amazon's advertisement for this game shows the manufacturer's and product description as having it. Do some research before you buy it, don't always be led by adverts. As a game though it's fine. It's not too difficult for the younger kids and the story mode follows the movie quite well. For the price, it's really a good buy.

Kids (4 and 6) both love the game. Well worth getting, good mix of game types to keep interest up.There is a language problem with the game though that the manual does not cover. If your kids accidentally chnages the language, use this to get it back to English.(from google search)Start the story mode (top left icon) in story mode press start to bring up the pause menu the language select is the fourth option down. :)

My 7 year old got this game for Christmas and is really pleased with it. It is recommended for age 7+ and I would agree with that. The game is good for giving you instructions how to deal with relevant tasks like throwing aliens off the moving train, but he still finds some parts of it frustrating and needs my help and reassurance.Great graphics and music - recommended for Toy Story fans old and young : )

Toy story 3 for DS is alright. The graphics were ok i wasn't expecting them to be amazing or anything. The cut scenes were good and the game follows the film pretty well but the only thing that was stupid is having no voices in the cutscenes, you have to read subtitles which is a bit crappy. It Would have been better if they had voices in it.. make it cooler. Overall i would give this game 7/10

I brought this for my 3 year old son because he loves Buzz, the graphics on the game is brilliant and the way you can play quick games or story mode is fabulous. The levels are a bit hard for him but he's got a challenge to unlock different parts of the game, its a BIG thumbs up from my family.I've even caught my husband playing on it when my son as gone to bed.

This game is really fun especially on 2 player mode. It is mostly the same storyline as the film but with a few different levels. The levels in the daycare are really fun. There is also a game seperate to the main story line where you have to find things and drive cars and race on bullseye which is quite fun. I would recommend this game to any toy story fans. :)

Bought this game for my 6 year old daughter. She loves playing it, and it kept her quiet for the majority of a 4 hour car journey. She never once said "Are we there yet" - so worth 5*'s just for that. She did have to ask help from her older siblings in the beginning, but soon got the hang of it and is still playing it 1 month after she got it.
